personally I'd recommend just running around to nearest shots. There's equally as high of a chance that some chad cleans the map before anyone runs into you (keep in mind that they are most likely going to be geared too, which makes one-shotting them difficult)

running for shots means higher chance you find someone that's naked or with weak gear. obviously depending on what type of shots you hear

Plus, camping is frowned upon if you do it intentionally but I'm not gonna mention ethics/moral here

Just surviving with any amount of loot builds it up over time.
If you want to guarantee profit, you can always enter the cycle of scavving and offline-PMCing while your scav is on cooldown.
Scavving can only make you money, you can't lose anything.
Offline is great for learning maps, cache runs, and getting good at killing scavs and scav bosses. This cycle is great to simply build up lots of money while learning - which makes online PMCing far easier.

First thing you'll learn is AI from player, that's all behavior. AI are much more robot-like, it's easy to see
Player scav from PMC is tricky, and it's mostly clothing and gear. PMC's are more camo'd up, scavs wear brighter colors. PMC's more often have helmets, but never hats. Scavs often have weird hats or nothing on their heads
