Well as I said if this is your first wipe that is not exactly bad. It's not easy to get used to the game. Experienced players level quickly cause they already know exactly what they'll need for quests so they'll have the items before they have the quests.

We keep everything we need for quests and as soon as we get the quests we can easily turn them in, also more confident killing scavs and more confident and aggressive playstyle for kills and quest items.

Probably people that they play with and that they know they can go to for help with keys early game. A lot of the quests early require keys that you can't buy and that are hard to find. If you ask for help in the discord someone with the key can help you progress more and allow you to do your quests.

CTRL + F all the items, keep the ones you need found in raid. Then find a different site for hideout items, keep the ones you need for hideout. Sell the rest.

That's the easiest answer to your question if you are going for kappa.

I believe I am having a bug where in my weapon presets are not saving after entering, and subsequently leaving/dying in a raid, is there any way to prevent this, or recover lost builds?

If you're new to the game, I really, really don't advise going for kappa, I would not plan around it at least, it's not hugely beneficial, nearly enough so to be worth the absolute dedication one would need to put into the game for it, and if you have not got a few wipes under your belt to optimize your grind, which is already extraordinarily obtuse, it will simply be exhausting. Perhaps you're in for the challenge, in which case sure, go for it, but really, be careful not to burn yourself out, it happens easily with Tarkov in my experience, and kappa is a great way to speed it up. (I only assume you're new because you're not sure what you should be selling though, you can disregard this if you wish regardless.)

The best advice is to search on wiki every item you have and see if you still need it, exemple : light bulb, you need 14 for hideout illumination lvl 2, if you already build it, you can sell or trade to Mechanic.

I'm genuinely curious how you could exploit it. But I assure you having more than one account is not punishable, as many youtubers etc. play on many accounts every wipe. Pestily is a prime example with his "Raid" series.
