run anything u have to get used to it. Make sure u have a gun with 2 or 3 spare mags with spare ammo in your container, meds (a medkit and painkiller in rig, and splint, spare medkit, CMS kit in gamma), armor (even PACA is good enough right now), a headset is highly recommended, bag for loot, and a nade or two. Helmet can save you but if you're tight on money dont get one, if you have spare 20k get the Ssh-68 from ragman

mosin is good since u need to level sniper skill if u plan on doing a lot of quests and levelling, but its a bolt action rifle so u gotta adapt ur playstyle to account for that

What helps me is set a path for the raid depending on the spawn, and according to things I need to do ( if I got a quest to kill scavs I’ll make a detour to scav spots on the way) and just let things play out, loot around on the way and usually things go to plan and extract. However that means u gotta know maps and spawns, so should learn those if u haven’t already
