Take off the carry handle so you can use the picatinny rail underneath, then, so you're not staring into your front sight, go to the flea market and purchase the windham ar-15 gas block (just type 'wind' and it'll be the only thing that pops up).
Take off the m4 front sight, swap it with the new gas block.

I know something that helped me a lot was to have a concept that I like to call "soft threat" essentially mark every door, nook, rat spot, off angle, cover peek as a possible threat and make sure to always be conscious of your positioning around the soft threats. It'll help build muscle memory to always be in the optimal location to counter each threat. So that next game when there happens to be someone in what used to be soft threat you're already in the best location to deal with them effectively

but then again that was for csgo so I'm not completely certain how it transfers to EFT which is considerably more focused around audio. Sometimes the best move might be to hunker down in a comfortable spot and not give any audio cues and let your opponent slip up and offer you the opportunity for the kill

I've got under 100 hours and tbh dying in general just isn't that big of an issue as most people make it out to be. As long as you get something out of it then it's completely fine. Whether that's something in your secure container or even just knowledge like "Oh ok thats a spawn" as long as you're learning then you shouldn't be afraid of playing. Don't let the lack of knowledge hold you back instead take it as an opportunity to learn more
