Never experienced this - but I saw this on the forum regarding that task, not sure if it'll help but maybe worth a look:

"Yep, I'm having this issue too. Got the second one just fine, the one down by Radar Tower, but the Drone up by Rock Passage does not have the SAS Drive in it at all. Been to it first at least six times and nothing in there at all.

Update Okay, so this Task is NOT Bugged, it has just been changed since the last patch. Previously you just opened the door on the side and the SAS drive was there, much like it still is at the Lower Radar Drone Location.

However, the Rock Passage Drone has its SAS Drive shoved higher up, so in order to get it you must open the Side Door, then back up a bit, go prone and look UP inside the compartment, the SAS Drive will be right in the middle upper section of the Bay."

Med tent, towards forlifts, into murderhall tunnel up to the jackets, into the tiny tunnel and out the far gate, and the bridge-side staircase is right in front of me.

The most complicated catagory of things is Barter Items (Duct tape, wrenches, fuel, etc.), all the misc things that can fit in a Junkbox.

For these, because nobody but you knows where you're at in terms of quests or hideout, or what barters/crafts you're trying to save for - My advice to everyone is pretty much the same, you have three options.

1. Check everything using https://tarkov-market.com/ and the info it provides for quest/hideout/barter/crafting requirements and for flea prices. It's otherwise impossible to know, without significant experience or asking other people every time, what you'll need anytime soon, or what sells for substantial money to other players. Then you can decide what things you'll need soon enough, and which items sell for enough, to hold onto. This is quicker in the long run and more profitable, but is tedious.
2. Check what you'll need right now, check what hideout upgrades and quests you could do if you simply had the right items (Not locked behind other prerequisites). Keep those things that you need at the moment, sell most everything else. You'll figure out what you need as you get to things, and learn through experience. It will be slower in the long run as you'll have to look for things you may have sold, but not as hoardy and you spend more time in raid.
3. Set a particular goal - maybe two or three hideout upgrades you want and get your list of like 5-10 items together. Sell everything else. This is the most "to hell with inventory management" approach, and you'll certainly sell things that you'll need again or could have sold for more, but you'll spend all your time in-raid.

-Money is very easy to make. If you want to guarantee profit, you can always enter the cycle of scavving and offline-PMCing. Scavving can only make you money, you can't lose anything. Offline is great for learning maps and getting good at killing scavs and scav bosses. This cycle is great to simply build up lots of money quickly while learning - which makes online PMCing far easier.
-Pick your fights, don't be afraid to retreat - it often gives you a better chance to hit back later.
-Only right hand peak if you have a choice.
-Hipfire is exceptional, get a good feel for it in offline mode and you'll thank yourself later.
-Ammo is more important than guns, but you need to know how to use what ammo you have. High damage vs High penetration is a critical difference - use an ammo chart.
-Positioning is everything. In combat, frequently reposition.
-Map knowledge is vital, learn them well - this mostly comes as you play but you can spend some time in offline to hone it quickly. Pay attention to spawns and you'll learn the high traffic areas online.
-Pay attention to your scav karma/fence rep, it's worth increasing IMO, but just know what your goal is.
-Stop hoarding things. It results in far too much time spent managing your inventory.
-Pay attention to your hideout - it's good.
-VOIP is crazy powerful, but people can sense when you're lying. Help people, they'll help you - it does pay off.
-Learn from every death, there's almost always a lesson.
-Most importantly, have fun with it - don't be afraid to take a break if it's frustrating you too much.

do your quests. Grind to level 15. Do more quests. Unlock peacekeeper as soon as you can. Quest until you hit level 26 MINIMUM before doing gunsmith 2-16. When you hit level 30 you can chill a little but i would quest until level 40 cause mechanic level 4
