item cases can hold everything (except some other containers), weapon cases can only hold weapons (and hold less). you can get them if you want, though. plate cases are the most expensive of the GP coin only containers ref sells. like the ammo case is 127gp coins but you can buy one for like 160k pretty early. plate cases are only 70gp coins more but cost 750k from mechanic
