i work in cybersec and as far as i can tell there are exactly 2 viable paths available to tackle the cheater problem:

the first is for the industry to work with microslop and cpu/mobo manufacturers to mandate a bunch of very invasive hardware requirements that let software companies lock down gaming to controlled windows environments. capital g Gamers will hate this, but the lowest common denominator wont care and microslop are trending in that direction anyway.

the second is basically developing AI to the point where it can replicate manual review. theoretically possible but the technology isnt there yet.

either way it will be at least a decade and probably more until anyone begins being able to comprehensively tackle cheating in video games
