Yes postfx can have an impact on performance but it shouldn’t be causing crashing. You most likely are running out of memory during the raid as your card does not have enough VRAM for High textures on Streets, even a 4090 struggles without enough space to page to

After five years, I'm planning to buy a new PC, mostly because I recently got into Tarkov and found that my current setup (1070 Ti, i5 8600k, 16GB RAM) isn't quite up to the task. However, I haven't kept up with the latest PC parts releases since I got my current rig, so my knowledge might be a bit outdated. I would really appreciate any advice or insights related to my questions or the build I'm considering below.

When planning this build, my main priorities were:
Smoothly running Tarkov (possibly utilizing my 144Hz monitor on some maps)
Upgradability
Beside Tarkov being able to run newer games

Here's the build I've been considering:
CPU: Ryzen 7 7800X3D
GPU: RX 6900XT
RAM: 64GB Kingston Fury Beast White
SSD: Samsung 990 Pro

I've encountered a lot of conflicting information, especially regarding CPUs. I've read that the Ryzen 7 7800X3D is one of the best CPUs for Tarkov and falls within my budget, but outside of Tarkov-specific discussions, I've seen mixed reviews. If anyone has experience with this CPU, I'd love to hear your thoughts.

I'm planning on buying the parts second-hand but with a warranty, just like I did with my current setup five years ago. The entire setup, including PSU, motherboard, and case, would cost me under 1.3k EUR.

Do you think this PC will meet my needs? If anyone has a similar build, I'd love to hear about your experiences. And of course, I'm open to any general advice or recommendations you might have.

Also 32 gb dimms tend to be dual rank, so you may lose on performance on a 2x32 compared to a 2x16.
From personal experience tarkov with ram hungry background programs tends to use ~20-24 gb

The 7800x3d is awesome, but depending on resolution it may be overkill for a 6900xt.

I have a 7700 (non-X, a decent amount worse than the x3d) and a 7900 xtx, at 1440p I haven't seen a single core reach 100%, while the 7900 xtx gets utilized significantly (forgot any exact numbers, but it reaches max turbo and gets pretty hot), with gpu vram usage at 20+ gb on streets using the low textures on streets option

But ofc it's your money, and if upgrading the gpu in the future is easier for you the 6900 xt is still a perfectly capable card for basically every game out there

More and more games are benefitting from the 3d cache the x3d has, 7700(x version) will get smoked by the x3d by 10-20% in frames on alot of 1440p games these days even if the usage isn't at max since if a cpu is running at max most likely its really weak or gpu is weak too

but for a 100 dollar price point difference i think its worth it

I'm not denying the performance uplift of the x3d, its just for getting maximum price to performance it may be worth it to have a worse cpu in the short term, and spending more on the gpu

And if you're not oc'ing getting a 7700x is kinda pointless since it's same as the 7700 but a higher bin, and you're spending more on a cooler

I will recommend you try to get memory kits with hynix chips, they tend to have better timings than samsung or micron, and have better oc potential (zen 4 is very limited on ram oc though, you'll be luck to get 6400)

I reinstalled windows a couple months ago and now I can't load into a raid at all... It gets stuck at "loading loot" and stays on this indefinitely, been having this issue for a couple of weeks now and it's a bit frustrating to not be able to play the game at all..

Things I've tried

• bcedit commands per reddit suggestions, the "useplatformclock" line isn't listed when I run enum
• Disabling firewall & antivirus
• Disconnecting from any VPN/Proxy
• Reinstalling Nvidia graphics drivers & updating drivers

• Review battlestate\Logs\ directory for any hints and I can't see anything
• Practice mode raid - This does work and lets me load in relatively quick (under 5m)

Hello everyone. I hope everyone is doing well. I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing Blue Screens when starting up EFT: Arena. It has been doin this to me all day and I just played night before last. Ive ran verify integrity, ive made sure windows is uptodate, made sure all my drivers were uptodate, and i have uninstalled and reinstalled the game. After doing each of those things, starting up Arena still resulted in a blue screen and the error that appears is not the same error each time. Its installed on an SSD. I have also started up another game which was released not that long ago and my pc didnt crash. Please help, thank you.

Getting an issue in arena, generally in the first 1-3 rounds of a match where i will get a massive fps drop when a few people shoot at the same time. After the first 1-3 rounds it doesnt happen. Hi, I was testing some stuff to improve my performance in tarkov and I end up with the issues that every time when the os decided to used the virtual memory (set to an SSD) the game eats a lag spike, I tried manually decrease the virtual memory by setting it to manual but it came with stability issues.

I'm saying that bc another of friend of mine, when using virtual memory to auto, it goes max to 19gb, however when mine set to auto it goes up to 32.

Automatic ram cleaner does not clear paged memory while you are playing, you physically have to pause your game for it to start to clear out of use memory, it will not clear memory the process is currently using, it can be helpful to keep memory usage down when you leave a location but I would suggest just setting up a page file or buying more memory for a smooth experience.

Using lower textures will also massively decrease RAM usage too

Because I can guarantee if you’re playing on High textures you ARE running out of VRAM and causing it to spill over into your system memory and no amount of RAM cleaning will fix the performance issues associated with that spillover

The purchases are permanent and can be bought regardless of your game edition, as shown on the expansions page.

But I never get the email, checked the spam, trash and no filters are set for the email to go to a different mail box. I updated my bios, open the launcher and says it sent me an auth code. when I go to my gmail, there is nothing from bsg. not in spam or trash. I can login on the website using my backup email or google authenticator but the launcher only sends codes to the main email but my main email doesn't get anything.

No way, using a scope makes your game render a 2nd time just for the scope. There is a slight cheesy workaround that i found though. When you scope in and get a frame drop then all subsequent scope ins for the next ~30 seconds dont cause a drop. So what i do on big maps is just while walking around pressing rightcklick from time to time to get tge frame drop when im not doing anything important so that if i get into a fight in the next 30 seconds i wont have that problem afecting my aim

Is anyone else getting this issue? I never install games or launchers on my C drive and all of a sudden I got an error saying I had a critical launcher update and it force installed on my C drive and wont let me launch from my H drive like ive had it for years.

When installing the launcher from a fresh download, you have the option to specify an install location other than the default "C:\Battlestate Games\BsgLauncher" location. I chose "H:\Battlestate Games\BsgLauncher" as my install location. When I clicked next and the install box came up, it showed that it was installing on my C drive instead of where I chose

Tl:dr, I set a location and the laucher said no, im going to install on your OS drive

That error means the registry says the files were there and it can't open from the location where it's at. There is a way to solve this.

It should let you install to H then

oh, that means your game client have a massive network lag without you noticing it. the scav killed you, but your client didnt reg it. Time caught back up and the server realized you should be dead

I currently own a laptop version rtx 3060, at offline raids in customs using low graphic settings i get around 94%-99% gpu usage and 80-100 fps with dlss turned off but when i use performance mode dlss the gpu usage drops to 55~% while average fps increases by 2-3~ , same with other dlss settings. My current system specs are i7-11800h , rtx 3060(laptop variant) 16gb dual channel 3200mhz ram. Also my cpu usage was around 30~% while at the said offline raid.
