as someone that has played world of warcraft for many years farming doesnt bother me. So i got into a farming trance in labs and about 5 hours every night after work and on the weekends just running nothing but labs for a month and ended up with the 300+ mil roubles after filling two 196 slot scav junk boxes with Ledx, Gpus, Ram and Bitcoin and Prokill medals. I also ended up with 1300 rounds of .338 AP about 8k rounds of M995 and SSA AP with another 5-6k rounds still untouched in their 100 round packs in 4 ammo cans.

no need for good gear/armor to fight them. their aim is pretty good but thats about it. just like the smugglers, the weapons that you get off of them are near 100 durability. I've seen the pillagers use pretty crap gear tho like pp19 or regular ak74s. nothing too special. they all seem to have a PL-15 pistol on them, at least the ones i fought have. the only cool thing they ahve on them are masks that were previously only available in arena

My only complaints with the game is that 1.the helo insert/extract is cool, but often takes too long, and 2. you cant change your faction, so if a friend jumps on and makes a character in a different faciton, you can't play together unless one of you resets your character.

The AK UBGL VOGs I think are a tad buggy. That or the explosion radius isn't quite accurate. It's difficult to say as the aiming reticle is meant for like 100m+

The M203 is a little easier to use, but doesn't have the short distance like vogs, unless you use the short fuse ones on purpose. Otherwise most of your engagements with the a UBGL is rare at best, considering the AI running around like chickens for like 7 seconds before finally planting themselves behind cover
