So, I was doing the Metasploit: Exploitation room and I got to Task 5 where you are just set free to figure out how to properly run an EternalBlue exploit on a remote machine to gain shell access. I was tearing my hair out because the exploit kept failing. The instructions for the room did not include a mention to make sure to set LHOST as your VPN IP if you are using your own VM, so I glossed over it until I realized. Set it to the proper interface and facepalmed irl when it worked.

There are free video classes that you can choose to pay for once you get your job or whatever such as Professor Messer and Jeremys IT Lab on YouTube, Udemy, or Coursera.

Notes are going to be your best friend. My favorite way to take notes is to use Markdown style keep them topical. If I need to reference another protocol or topic, I don't detail the whole protocol, I put only the relevant information and a link to my notes for the full protocol, and I keep all my references listed at the end of the page in case I ever need to retrace my steps
