then i can probe around the open ports while the detailed scan is running

btw, make sure not to store any storage into the kali machine (virtual machine) without backing them up. kali is quite fragile, so you might lose a lot of stuff if it crashes or gets corrupted

also, if you kali vm gets too big in size, you can also just delete the machine and make a new one for more storage

also, remember than the virtual machine is still a machine. it will use up your resources (some of your ram depending on the max the machine can use, etc.)
