If you drop from the top three and you're still in the promotion zone, then you gain nothing except going up and competing with the same, if not more competitive people. I'm assuming the league system randomises everyone each time so the likelihood of you competing against the same people would depend on how many total people are in that league.

You will compete with more competitive people however, which is pretty much the point of leagues. It's similar to pretty much a ranked system in online gaming, however I do think that there could be more ways in the future to incentivize staying in the top 3.

Syncing with Syncthing seems to take quite a bit even if I just create a text file on the VM, but I think it's because the default Kali Linux image uses a drive that separates into multiple files

in this case, the plaintext was encrypted in layers
like they encrypted it to base 64, then passed the output to morse code, then that output to binary, then that output to rot47 and then that to bcd
so even if i could write my own decryption tool, which i currently can't, how would i even suspect that something like this has been done when looking at it, let alone figure out what algorithms were used?
