A part of the exam is writing a small report on the alert when its closed/escalated (key events, info, etc..) - we went through a few rounds of iteration internally, and took feedback from clients (mentioned in the blog post we wrote) that we beta tested it with to get it right. Its a tough one because even senior analysts will write a report slightly differently (we go on what good should look like - high maturity SOCs) - and we tweaked it a lot to get it to a place where happy with it. Even now we're manually looking at the reports for attempts, manually reviewing, to make sure its perfect. We also try to give helpful feedback at the end of your exam, or during the SOC SIM scenarios (not for SAL1)

I base my notes on situations encountered or techniques so instead of Tool -> commands, I would do like hash cracking -> tools -> commands

Always have to remember it's the methodology that matters, tools come and go
