Yeah that's a possibility, some of these rooms are simply so easy though -- especially for people who are already certified in some way -- that it's nothing to breeze through them.

Maybe if they wanted people to spend more time on a section before moving to the next the questions would have been harder. 😂 Agreed on googling though, it's the easy way out and it shows a lack of willingness to learn for yourself.

Something like that should only point you in the right direction or instill in you a desire to find out the why after the what. Preferably both.

I started for fun, then voiced my interest to my boss, which paid for some training. Since then, we've been implementing DevSecOps thoroughly at the office as well as SOC practices.

I would say that since programming is a plus for blue teams as well as red teams, you already got a small advantage when they look at your resume (if you're looking for a cybersec position).

Hey, I wanted to learn about soc and wanted to pursue SOC analyst as my Career. I was confused of which resource to choose that can help me to learn about SOC and help me in the interviews. Specifically I was confused about whether to choose HTB academy SOC path or THM SOC Path. I mean I love Both platforms but I only have time to learn from either one of them for now. So can you guys help me to choose which resource can really help me in the interviews by sharing your opinion and experience so I can possibly land a job as a SOC analyst?
Sorry if the question was odd, I knew both platforms are best but for now i need to choose this accordingly for my need.

i completed the beginner path and the net+ (only course not certification for knowledge purpose).

i have not done the HTB one but thm's path is pretty good. it delves into all the things you need as a SOC. the htb one didnt seem as broad as thm one.

Nice, I also saw that the thm path really covers lot of topics(including phishing) and tools that did not covered in the HTB SOC path thats why I was confused what to choose.

tldr: SOC analysts are just feeling burned out because they don’t get support from their engineering teams of tuning alerts properly

htb is generally better as i've seen but thm has given special love to soc path. even the challenges you come across, they strengthen your concepts a lot.
