the stats are likely manufacturer-provided (I.e. lab scenario / therotetically possible). Same with mobile phones / laptops in saying their battery life.

USBs aren't amazing at constant read/writes as caused by an OS. Even external SSD drives aren't amazing at it - better sure - but nowhere near like having an internal disk i.e. SATA

If the system suddenly crashed like that, it's likely a hardware/firmware problem. Notoriously difficult to narrow it down unless you can pull kernel logs, but even then the failing component may not give the system time to write the log entry to disk before it goes down

Fixing your PC is mostly trial and error to see what causes it to get worse/alleviates it.

Check for OS updates first, thendriver updates and firmware updates. After that, you can try swapping physical devices to narrow down what's failing. But healthcheck apps may still not pick up the actual root cause.
