When I try to download any of the openvpn configuration files I get a 403 forbidden error:

• I tried different wifi access points to see if it something my isp is stopping nothing same error
• I opened the link in a new tab it downloaded the openvpn configuration but when I start the server, it keeps loading and at the end it gives me a time out connection

is there any solution to this problem?

Hey folks, I just got Rate Limited on the site, and I'm curious if anyone knows how long the ban lasts for? I'm not sure why. I've just been doing rooms on my main machine. The most recent thing I did was the Python basics room - I already know Python so I used it as an opportunity to challenge myself to complete the goals from the top of my head, so I went through it pretty quick. Then after that I joined a CTF room (Expose, a beginner level CTF) and started a VM (the target box), then realized I was using the website on my actual machine and not my Kali VM, so I switched over there so I didn't have to use the AttackBox, but as soon as I logged in to Kali, I tried to go to TryHackMe.com and it's giving me this CloudFlare error saying I've been "temporarily banned"

I right clicked on the OpenVPN GUI and imported the ovpn file and connected. this is what ive been doing most of the learning pathways, then i open Kali and i can ping the remote machines/ use Nmap etc (ive been doing this instead of starting my remote machine) I used to use the remote machine and use ** sudo openvpn Snappy.ovpn** but this doesnt seem to connect at all now, it just hangs and trys to reconnect with a TLS error.

Im using windows 10 Enterprise 64

I am a bit concerned about the amount of system memory it takes up when I am in a room, which can reach up to 3GB in just one tab (currently finishing the Advent of Cyber 2023 room). Is it really like that because of the recent updates? Or is it because of the VMware that already comes with the site? I never had any system memory usage problems before the recent site updates (not sure if it's just specific to a room) but now it seems to lag a lot, and is kind of slow, even if it's the only tab open on a decent pc

I checked just now and it seems that the use of VPN services in Pakistan is highly restricted such that VPN services need to be registered with the government (non-registered ones can be classified as illegal from how I understood it). With that said, I think only the Attackbox option can be used in your case.

We'll have to wait for other users from Pakistan to share how they are using THM.

I've tried every region. And the only one that worked was the only one that is not very close to my region. Try by brute force exactly every VPN tunnel download and run it by typing curl 10.10.10.10.10/whoami. And at least one tunnel should give an answer.

Anthem is a Windows box. By default, Windows blocks ping, so it is not always a great indicator in determining if a machine is up 🙂

Hey guys, I still have problems with connecting them openvpn. Left you see the connection is green. Right you see the troubleshoot script saying: MTU failed at 1000 ask for help on discord. Furthermore I got no connection when I use curl or webbrowser to go to 10.10.10.10. can anyone help me to solve this problem?

Here you see them all four. Left above you see the access page, it is connected. Right above you see the browser still can not connect with 10.10.10.10 right beneath you see ip a and left you see OpenVPN running with the config file.

So the problem is that I am still not connection to 10.10.10.10. probably this has the result that metasploit and netcat are not working on the thm servers.

Yes OpenVPN window open. I can access Google. I have a single boot Kali o.s. then I can not connect to 10.10.10.10 neiter ssh. But when I open attack box I can connect in the VM of the attack box with ssh to the machine.

My ufw firewall is deny incoming allow outgoing and disabled(routed)

The Attackbox is part of the THM network, so it should always work. Do you have any VPNs or AV software on your host?

Not too sure, Id' imagine you would get an alert. What type of network are you currently connected to? (home, corporate, school,..)? Might be worth running a test with your mobile hotspot to see if that works

It works because whichever public network you were connected to was probably blocking the incoming VPN traffic, whereas your phone's hot spot uses a different network that doesn't. Ideally, you should be connecting to a private network, like your home network 🙂

I have to go offline so won't be able to help with the Metasploit thing, but if you post enough information, someone else might be able to.
