the forms of ID i have are well recognized in Australia. no photo ID required. Correlating department idenitifaction along with a birth certificate is more than enough information to substantiate I am a citizen

It is pretty easy, covering up the basics. I suggest you learn the theory well, it’s all basic knowledge. Going again over the Pre-security path might help you understand things again, since you learnt a few and will help you put them together better. The exam in itself I would say is very simple, but I will not reveal more since there is a policy. Focus on theory, the basics, and on knowing how to operate an os at least surface level.

Pay attention, double check your answers, if you still have time you can look up on them again just to be sure, you have more than enough time considering it is all straight up.

They also mentioned you can use external sources to help, since a big part of this field is research, so don’t be scared if you don’t know everything perfectly, the end goal is to have the knowledge and to be able to apply what you have learnt. The cert is more to show your commitment and to test your skills.

It is an open-book exam, meaningn you can use notes, books and any other resources you have - while I am not sure about LLMs I personally wouldn’t rely on them for a cert, just because I want to test what I learned not what I can prompt out of GPT for example. (OSCP+ even states “ we encourage you to use google or even youtube - that is as open book as it gets)

Hi, follow the modules on the pre security path. They're really nice, after that you can purchase the sec0 exam. I didn't take it yet, might do it this week. It shouldn't be that difficult. From what I read it's open book. Good luck :)

Open-book exams allow you to use your notes/cheat-sheets/ and other materials you have on hand. Some even encourage using search engines/youtube freely.

In all honesty I wouldn’t worry about studying too much. I hadn’t touched THM in 6+ months, took it one weekend, and go a perfect score. You have more than enough time and like you said it’s open book

The test itself, maybe 2-4 hours. I don’t remember exactly but no more than like 4 hours

But you have 24 hours and it’s in sections, just limited time when you start the section. So you could do a section, get busy, come back to the rest of the test a few hours later

Even though my work includes DC with AD, I really prefer using the Linux CLI over Windows CMD / Powershell, but for sure it's all about practice and how much time you put in.

for me it was quite easy, but I already have some CTF and similar experience, I managed to finish it in under 2 hours. Some parts had a VM, but most were without one.

Just finished SEC0 with a 580, it really isn't bad at all, I definitely was afraid of nothing LOL, I took a TON of breaks just because, but each section took between 15-20 mins, not the full 45 mins (I can see needing more depending on how much you need to rely on external resources like going into the Pre-Security rooms frequently for answers)
