Nice choice, but not that much support for other tho? Unless I’m forgetting
Yes, i was thinking, glam bard, abjurer too, now im looking at rangers but not much spells there, not sure about druids, definately dont want shapeshifting for her.
Druids can be tricky
Rangers are a bit far from her ideas
Thanks, will look at that one.
The party IS missing a rogue
Looks like it.
Have you considered artificer?
For skills? Or gameplay
No, i just saw some multiclassing with it, in which book is that class?
Is there some specific subclass for that spells?
Did even noticed that one, i have read tasha and XGoE
So it adds telekinesis and some other fun stuff
Cool, will look that up
She also love skill challenges the most, so this is nice addition too
Rogues are AMAZING (probably the best) for overall skill checks
Except for social settings. Then the bards are unmatched
Ye, i will have to look on those mechanics too, maybe thats why i stayed from it. But will for sure check it.
For that artificer do you have some subclass in mind? Will do my research then.
Well there’s:
alchemist
battle smith (lil companion)
Armourer (iron man! Plus stealth suit)
Artillerist (flamethrower, ballista or shielding barrier)
Artificers have very little subclasses
Alchemist makes potions btw that can help allies. They just like making stuff.
Artificers like to make stuff
Magic stuff
Not sure about these, but will check. Btw why is druid tricky?
Also can they skip shapeshifting and still be valid?
I think stars druid can, not sure about others? Do they have many things to track?
It’s just that Druids are… forgettable oftentimes. They’re about the one class I forget the intricate features of.
Utilitywise?
The change in stats that come with wildshape can also be confusing
As you said tho, some Druids can forgo wildshape
Deff dont want to shapeshift, but i think some of them can use that for other things and not shape into beasts/forms
Oh, cool didnt know it doesnt
No idea, but can reflavour homebrew some stuff np. Just dont want to mess with mechanics. But can change school type etc or do something else than necrotic stuff.
I’m very sorry, but I have to pop out for like 15 minutes because something came up. In the meantime, feel free to look at the subclasses we proposed to you, the ones you’ve already thought of.
Sure. Druids are what we call "full casters". This means they can wield powerful spells that equal wizards and sorcerers.
Will do, thanks a lot mate
Please feel free to leave any questions for me to answer, or ask someone else on the server
Glad I could be of help
Well, they can, but they also get a strong alternative use (symbiotic entity). Much like Stars Druid does too, with their starry forms.
Cool, thanks so much. Will add them to my check list.
Thanks for the clarification
You could change some of it to natural vines, and change the corpses to vine golems
exactly, something like this
A lot more kid friendly than fungi zombies
looking rogues now, and omg 🥰 its so good, didnt even know its uses intel
when you say it like this, they would love fungi zombies like nothing else 😄 they would make them cute 😄
OH I forgot to ask
Or you playing 2014
Or 2024
React to which one is right if you don’t want to lose your typing progress
its so fun playing with kids, cause they immerse, and they remember all their personality stuff, quirks.
and for that phantasmal force it started like burning pants, but man did they evolve and if i let them think for more that 10 minutes they would come up with some real evil stuff 😅
2024
Great
just took some old stuff like booming blade etc, but nothing major and new rules and monsters etc
I’m slightly more familiar with 2024 tbh
Subclasses or no?
i mean we didnt have to, but it something fits why not, was looking for twilight domain for a while
Anyway, Druids get a free fey companion.
And there’s also a fey wanderer ranger
Just ideas
yes, but they all liked their classes, just this one EK fighter feels little low on fun factor during combat
I see
she got familiar, so even if it doesnt have pet, she will get hers.
but for rogue it will be extra helpful
fey one sure, she just want a pet, dont think it matters if it can do something, you know just a companion
Ok!
all girls have familiar, archfey is waiting for sphinx, and paladin will have her mount pet
By the way, archfey isn’t a class
archfey lock
Hi
Wazzup
hey
btw, did you have something in mind from older books as a subclass?
Welcome, how can we help
Spore Druid is from an older book (2014).
Artificers are all 2014
Unless you mean before 5th edition
Then I have no idea
oh that one, ye. wouldnt mind use older books for that
nono thats what i meant, just didnt know spores is from 2014
For support roles… do you mind having two clerics in the party?
Clerics are support the archetype
I’m just trying to know what’s available
Clerics are extremely versatile in what they can do as well.
Because support roles include:
bard
some Druids
Divine soul sorcerer
some wizards
Ooo maybe divination wizard
Bards
Clerics
Artificers
Tanks (fighters, ancient barbarians) but have no spells
Arcane trickster
ye, but we already have 1 light cleric, i mean its not an issue, but even flavour wise, not sure if there is something stand out for her
som far im reading arcane trickster and its so great, im far from build or anything but it looks great.
last word will have the girl, but for me this looks great.
gonna check stars and spores druids soon, and then others.
with wizards, not sure if its just me, but as they have lot of spells, spellbook, and subclass stuff, it just feels like a lot for me to track. maybe its personal, that i find some other classes more intuitive?
rogue got his class abilities, but for some reason i dont feel as overwhelmed
Wizards and sorcerers both have a lot of things to keep track of, but wizards more so
Because they have less spells and less complex casting
ye, sorcerers got that metamagic, and spell slot trading
yes, probably this
if i play just 1 class by myself, it would be different
i made custom sheets, where i track all their stuff at once, with little comments, and then one like battle spellbooks where spell descriptions are, and how some effects work etc. just adding a ton of spells to this would be a lot for me
then i do this for monsters too
Hello there
Hello there
heya
Wazzup how can we help
thanks again, and my study continues 😄
I started playing last year in college , I don't understand the whole like score thing , I'm always so confused when I play 🤣
Like ability scores?
Ye
Easy
Your ability points, or stats, help determine how good at something your character is. Whether it be attacking (strength or dexterity) or saving throws (dodging, resisting) or performing tasks (ability checks) they all are based of your stats
The modifier (what changes on your dice roll) is based on your stat, -10, then halved rounded down
Tbh I’d recommend #learn-to-play to get you started
?tag new abilities
Abilities
All creatures have six abilities that measure physical and mental characteristics: Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma.
Each ability has a score from 1 to 20, which represents the magnitude of an ability. Each ability also has a modifier from -5 to +5, derived from its score. Add the modifier when you make a D20 Test with the corresponding ability or when a rule asks you to do so.
Determine your ability scores by using one of the following three methods. Your DM might prefer you to use a particular one.
- Standard Array. Use the following six scores for your abilities: 15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8.
- Random Generation. Roll four d6s and record the total of the highest three dice. Do this five more times, so you have six numbers.
- Point Cost. You have 27 points to spend on your ability scores. The cost of each score is shown on the Ability Score Point Costs table. For example, a score of 14 costs 7 of your 27 points.
After assigning your ability scores, adjust them according to your background. Finally, determine your ability modifiers using the Ability Scores and Modifiers table. Write the modifier next to each of your scores.
^ For reference on how to generate ability scores and how those scores impact your character modifiers
Hey, i was bored today and ive always wanted to try and get into dnd. it can be quite overwhelming with all the rules and everything. ive watched some dnd for dummies tutorials on youtube and sort of understand it but im not really sure where to go from there and none of my friends are into it. can anyone point me in the right direction? any help would be great 🙂
Check out #learn-to-play and the free basic rules: https://www.dndbeyond.com/sources/dnd/free-rules
And then feel free to ask questions as you run across them.
And when you feel like you're ready to find a group to play D&D with, check out #find-a-game
okay, thank you 🙂
Depends on what the source of the specific charmed condition says
Charmed Person, for example, ends if the charmer or the charmer's allies damage the charmed creature, but the original allies of the charmed person doing anything harmful to the charmed person would do nothing against the condition
Just noticed the wording is "harmed" not "damaged", so whether attempting to attack someone is harmful for the spell would be down to the DM 🤔
I read guides, people explain, its hard for me when people write it, english is not my first language. Could anyone walk me through step by step making a pc sheet? (creating a character)
I will REALLY appreciate it
- Figure out what race/species you would like to play
- Figure out what class you'd like to play
- Figure out what background you'd like to play with
The first 2 chapters of the free basic rules https://www.dndbeyond.com/sources/dnd/free-rules cover the core game mechanics and the 2nd chapter goes into how to create a character step by step
Theyre lvl 6 btw
I read these i cant understand😭
Start at level 1 and work your way up - it will make more sense
No the dm wants me to join mid compaign and they r all lvl 6..
Even tho its my first
Oky but again start at level 1 and work your level ups from there
You need to start the character at the beginning of the process to get it leveled up to level 6
So what species did you pick?
What class did you pick?
What background did you pick?
Let's start there.
Okay human barbarian with gladiator background
Great!
Are you using a PDF character sheet? DnDbeyond? Some Virtual Tabletop tool's character sheet?
Something i found on the internet, idk which one is best though
Dnd beyond i tried but i got lost
It does not have the same freedom as others where you can just type
It did not let me picks many stuff
Well you won't be able to access anything outside of the free rules/SRD materials without buying the books, regardless of what tool you use.
The dm has a book but uhh.. Yeah
So how do i know what are their stats?
How do i pick?

I'd suggest using Standard Array unless your DM has a specific method
I think point cost or someth
Which means..¿
Im not really sure he just says "figure it out" 😭
Those are the ability scores of a standard array and you would allocate them to your abilites.
Barbarian
Storm with Rage, and wade into hand-to-hand combat
Barbarians are mighty warriors who are powered by primal forces of the multiverse that manifest as a Rage. More than a mere emotion—and not limited to anger—this Rage is an incarnation of a predator’s ferocity, a storm’s fury, and a sea’s turmoil.

Woah how did you summon that?
It's a tag we've set up
I see many times people has like 15 and then (+2) what does that mean?
Like strength 18(+2)
So ability scores determine your modifiers. The strength 18 means the strength score is 18. This means it has a +2 modifier.
Natural what?
Nvm
But yes, a modifier modifies your dice rolls
Okkkokok
So making a strength check you roll a d20 and add your strength modifier to the result
How do you know whats the modifier?
Ok seems simple enough
There's a table that breaks down ability score and it's modifier
What ab paths of stuff
Like zealot
And abilities
At level 3 you pick a subclass. Subclasses add features on top of your class features.
I can choose any?
Well from whatever books you have and whatever the DM allows for their game
But yes, at level 3 you pick one of the possible barbarian subclasses
Berserker is ok?
Under the 2024 rules yes.
I need to bounce away to handle other things but I hope this has been helpful. Other folks should be able to help answer your questions as well.
Thank you SO MUCH you have no clue how much i appreciate this!

Helloo 👋 Im new and also rather new to the DnD in general. Im in LOVE with this world of DnD!
hello, I'm new to D&D... i actually don't even know where to start nor know the rules.. I'm really looking forward to learning more about the lore and community and just learning how the game works (^-^)

Looks like I hopped in at a good time. I'm also new here. I bought some di a while ago and the dnd starter kit, but had no one to play with, so I was like, "... I'm alone."
try finding a dnd community in your area, maybe try a gamestore
Where I'm at, people pretty much keep to themselves. It's almost like a weird click thingy everywhere you go.
then try finding an online game!

Yeah, I think I'll try that. I need to find a way to brush up on the rules, so I'll look into that first. I heard Baldurs Gate 3 was fun, so maybe I'll check that out.

@lyric fjord look at the bot post above for the rules
FR I'm kinda like that too sadly since I bought the starter kit.
Everyone always seems to have an already established thing going on and stuff
Not to mention it's also scary to approach local areas and ask if there's any available.
Hi, I never played a campaign and want to do so. I made a character on the D&D beyond, and I have a webcam and my own dice set.
Is there a particular channel that I have to make a post on to find a game? Please DM or mention my name in the chat

what would your character do? not in game mechanics

Class
Your class is the primary definition of what your character can do and gives you a variety of special features, such as a fighter’s mastery of weapons and armor, and a wizard’s spells. This article provides a quick breakdown of each available class and can help guide your choice.
Each class also lets you choose a subclass, which provides unique features and further specialization within the class.

Monk
Dart in and out of melee while striking fast and hard
Monks use rigorous combat training and mental discipline to align themselves with the multiverse and focus their internal reservoirs of power. Different Monks conceptualize this power in various ways: as breath, energy, life force, essence, or self, for example. Whether channeled as a striking display of martial prowess or as a subtler manifestation of defense and speed, this power infuses all that a Monk does.

Sorcerers wield innate magic that is stamped into their being. Some Sorcerers can’t name the origin of their power, while others trace it to strange events in their personal or family history. The blessing of a dragon or a dryad at a baby’s birth or the strike of lightning from a clear sky might spark a Sorcerer’s gift. So too might the gift of a deity, exposure to the strange magic of another plane of existence, or a glimpse into the inner workings of reality. Some D&D games have deities/pantheons and that's where you'd indicate which god/gods you follow if any. It's not mechanically required to play the game.
if your character believes in a deitie
Each class has different spell lists, so if you chose MI druid, for example, you’d choose spells from the druid spell list.
Ohh ok, how do I find their respective spell lists
https://www.dndbeyond.com/spells then filter by class.
Thanks
Does anyone play campaign on DnD beyond?
yes
What kind of campaign do you play
Trying to!
I have bought a lot of stuff on there but have not ever actually played a campaign yet
I’m actually looking to get back into dnd I’m still fairly new but ik the basics and how stuff works

I have been trying to learn it for a few months just nobody around to play
I’m always available Thursdays and Fridays id love to join a campaign with you and anyone else
Been wanting to get back into dnd idc what type
Make sure to use #find-a-game to use this server to find a group!
Thank you

Ik that feeling I’ve sat before just thinking about a whole campaign but I’ve only ever finished one campaign so I don’t feel I’d have the right grasp on how to handle things
Trying to remember all the checks and saving throws I would probably for get when they are needed

70? Thats... pretty cool... makes me feel not so old, thanks lol
I'll be in your care
people that were 20 when dnd released are 70 now
so yeah
not a limit, but the discord age stuff does apply
Hi guys! i'm new to D&D, and recently there was a D&D club last Friday, and i think the session zero was really cool, and wanted to join... I created a character with the help of my friend and started my character and I don't know what else to do next 💔
If you'd like feedback, feel free to post your sheet here or in #character-discussion . Otherwise, you can read through #find-a-game to learn how to use this server to find a group!
do i copy my information since they dont allow images? what do I even send?
What method did you use to make your character sheet? (e.g. PDF, D&DBeyond, etc)
I was going to use dndbeyond, but my friend is very nerdy and used the actual player handbook and xanather's guide books to partially build me a character
So a physical sheet or PDF? You can upload the relevant files/images to a trusted filesharing site like Imgur or Google Drive and post the share link to the sheet
I did it on the google spread sheet? thing, I can probably send a link :)
Alright, that should be fine
are you able to help me review my character?
Yeah I can!
okay tysm ;') give me one sec to figure out how to send my school computer info to my private info
So I know there’s an app where you can have your character sheet but that won’t work for us because it doesn’t have everything. Is there a like Google doc or something where I can download it and that way my party doesn’t have to use paper sheets and it get confusing when editing it?
You could try this one:
https://gsheet2.avrae.io/
I made myself a dice cam
Thank you
What is my jump distance as a druid?
The same as anyone else. Check the jump rules
You can find those rules starting here:
https://www.dndbeyond.com/sources/dnd/br-2024/rules-glossary#Jumping
Okay thanks!!
I might need to open it on a proper computer because opening it in sheets on my phone got rid of all the decoration but I’ll figure it out
What does it mean by "each foot of the jump costs a foot of movement"
Is it viable to be a protector life domain heal/tank cleric?
Everything is viable
In 2024 I should add
Hay i have no history of DnD and I thought it sounded cool dose anyone have a club that can help me lurn and play
#looking-for-players is where dms post looking for players
#find-a-game is where you can make your own post looking for a dm to add you to their group
#learn-to-play has basic rules
On your turn, you have movement equal to your speed.
If your speed is 30 ft., you have 30 ft. of movement.
When you move on your turn, that gets subtracted from your movement.
That includes jumping.
So if you move 10 feet, then jump 10 feet, you’ve used 20 feet of your movement.
hi! I'm new here, but not entirely new to dnd. I've played as a dungeon master with my friends before but a more simpler version of dnd. I'm trying to play again after years. Trying to relearn stuff again
Welcome!
When do I regain it? I assume you mean in initiative
You regain all your speed at the start of your turn if you're in initiative unless there's a specific status that affects it
You can read the new core books or the free Basic Rules
Can anyone call and walk me through making my first character
What are you using to make your first character?
D&D beyond
Hey everyone! Total and absolute noob here. Been wanting to play since I was a wee lad in middle school, figured I'd check out the server and take my first steps into maybe playing the game for the first time. 🙂
Welcome!
Halloooooo
How can we help ya
Okay
At the moment I'm at the first stages. Probably should learn the rules before I consider making a character 😛 though I imagine it's better to make a character to suit the campaign anyways, instead of having one on retainer.
Yeah, you’re right.
To learn the rules, go to #learn-to-play
If you want help making a character go to #character-discussion
Once you’re ready to start, go to #find-a-game
Awesome! I'm guessing the server hosts one shots as well? So I can dip my toes in without a multi month long commitment?
Yupadoo
And of course, any specific questions can be asked and answered here
You beat me to it. I'll ask any questions here. Thanks!
How does a backgrounds ability scores affect your actual ability scores 😞💔
The background ASIs modify the base score
So for example let's say you had a Strength score of 15 and a Constitution score of 16 and you took the Soldier background.
Now let's say you chose to take the +2/+1 increase option. You could make your Strength score 17 and your Constitution score 17, or you could make them STR 16 & CON 18.
Oh so out of the three ability scores I’m free to distribute them however I’d like?
No, it depends on the background
Yes and no. If you choose the +2/+1 option you can choose any single one of the 3 ability scores to increase by 2, and one of the remaining 2 to increase by 1.
If you choose the +1/+1/+1 option, you would increase all 3 of the listed scores by 1.
StarOfTheLight phrased it much better
To elaborate, the +2/+1 option can give you the following increases in my example:
- +2 STR, +1 CON
- +2 STR, +1 DEX
- +2 DEX, +1 STR
- +2 DEX, +1 CON
- +2 CON, +1 STR
- +2 CON, +1 DEX
Something to keep in mind is that the bonuses cannot go to the same stat. If you're creating your character on D&DBeyond, the system will let you for some reason (I believe it's a bug) so just be wary of that.
Wait they can’t
Nope
Increase one by 2 and another one by 1, or increase all three by 1
The two key wordings here are "another one" and "all three" which prevent choosing the same stat rules as written.
What do you mean by they can’t go to the same stat? Like you can’t put all 3 into one stat?
yes
Ahhh okay okay
So for example you couldn't use your background +2/+1 to give you +2 Dex and then another +1 Dex.
Again D&DBeyond will let you do it for some reason, but that's been an issue with the site for a while
And modifiers also work towards the total ability score right?
No, your ability score modifier comes as a result of the final ability score.
So a Strength score of 16 confers a +3 Strength modifier
Oh so I apply all the changes from my race and background before I get the multipliers?
You’ll need your final score before you can figure out the modifier, yeah.
Since the modifier depends entirely on the score.
Since you're talking about background ASIs, then you'd be playing the 2024 version of 5e. In which case you wouldn't apply any ASIs given by your species
(It used to be the opposite where species gave ASIs and backgrounds did not)
And now it’s only ASIs?
Species still confer certain abilities, such as the Elves' Trance or Dragonborns' Breath Weapon. They just don't give you ASIs anymore.
Ooooh okay okay
Likewise, Backgrounds now give ASIs and an Origin Feat in addition to almost everything they gave before (e.g. some minor equipment, skill proficiencies, etc).
It's irrelevant since you're playing 2024, but if you wanted to know the only thing that got removed from Backgrounds is a unique ability that was more tailored & less powerful. For example, the 2014 version of Soldier had the "Military Rank" feature whereas the 2024 version gives the Savage Attacker feat.
In any case this is correct. To harkon back to my previous examples let's say after Ability Score Generation (we'll say you used Standard Array) you had 15 in Strength. This gives you a +2 Strength modifier.
After taking the Solider background, you choose the +1/+1/+1 option which would increase your Strength to 16 which now gives you a +3 Strength modifier.
Here is the table on how score affects modifier
Is it bad to go for a home brew for a first time playing dnd ever?
Usually yes. Homebrew is quite a broad term that can mean anything from "I have a longsword that does piercing instead of slashing damage" to "I made my own campaign world" to "I have overhauled a lot of the game to work for a sci-fi setting"
It's... not advisable. It requires a lot of work and effort from both player and dm to make it work fluidly.
It does depend though on what exactly the homebrew is
Homebrew for flavor is easier to do than homebrew mechanics
Agreed. I would compare it to wanting to modify your car before you even own one, know how to operate one, or even what kind of car you would want.
Yea I thought so I was just curious. I was looking at a preset rouge halfling vs a not attempted but just opened another character to see what a non preset character would look like (another rouge but elf this time) and the stats and new abilities were different. Ik elf’s get dark vision and all that so it wasn’t surprising but the halfling didnt really get jack diddly squat for his passive abilities so I was confused a little bit
Wait, are you saying you were looking at playing a non-premade character?
Creating your own character doesn’t typically count as homebrew.
Not if you’re following the official rules and choosing official character options, anyway.
You can definitely make an elf rogue if that’s what you want.
What even ARE hit dice 💔
It’s short for Hit Point Dice.
The first thing they do is determine your maximum hit points.
Then during play, you can also use them to regain hit points during a short rest.
- https://www.dndbeyond.com/sources/dnd/br-2024/creating-a-character#FillInNumbers (see Hit Points and Hit Point Dice)
- https://www.dndbeyond.com/sources/dnd/br-2024/creating-a-character#GainingaLevel (see step 2)
- https://www.dndbeyond.com/sources/dnd/free-rules/rules-glossary#LongRest
So if it says my class has D8 hit dice my maximum health at level 1 will be any number between 1-8 depending on what I roll?
No, at level 1 you start with the max for that die, plus your Constitution modifier.
If your CON is +2, you’d have 8+2=10 to start.
When you level up, you get an additional hit die. You either roll it or take the average rounded up (5), then add your CON, and increase your max HP by the total.
Hi there, curiosity, What mean homebrew?
Anything unofficial content created by the players / DM, like a custom race, spell or a magic item
okey okey, thanks thanks
I have a question,do I need books and other materials to start DND or can I just play DND without the stuff?
The free Basic Rules is all you need. And a group of course
Thanks a lot for your help! 🙂
The basic rules should be on dnd beyond
U have limited options though because alot of things are in books that cost money
U don't have to get them if your fine with only having 1 subclass option per class and haveing a bunch of spells blocked but if u think u will play the game alot it's probably worth getting the digital version of the player hand book
Thanks telling me! I hope you have a good day!
Can a Collège of création Bard use the spell imovable to object on something they created ?
Yes. Immovable Object is not a bard spell, so they'd need to learn the spell through some other method, such as Magical Secrets, but assuming they have access to the spell, then the object created by Performance of Creation is a legal target for the spell.
If you're a player you can find groups that play virtually and most are free for players
IF I get to join a campaign with my fully homebrew character, will the DM reject the character or help adjust it to fit into the campaign?
That depends on the DM and on the degree of homebrew.
Typically, the more you deviate from official content, the less likely a DM is willing to accept a character at all.
I see making sure not to go too overboard on the homebrew stuff
"Homebrew" is a collective term for anything that's outside the rules of the game. Each person's tolerance for doing things outside the rules of the game is entirely up to them. Some people prefer no homebrew at all, while others go wild and free with it.
That being said, since you're asking this question in this channel, I assume you're probably new to D&D. I HEAVILY recommend that you avoid using any homebrew at all when you're ne to the game. It's hard to learn how to play if you've made a ton of your own adjustments to the game. Its like designing a balance patch for a video game before you've played it. I'm sure most DMs will have a similar belief system.
I Ve got other questions about college of création bard: first I Ve heard différent info about wether or not they are able to control the object created like making it levitate around etc…
And two I know they canot creat magical object but can they create conseptual object like a perfect sphère (like yorozu from jjk) since it s technically just a regular object ?
Have you read the subclass features?
hello, im absolutely new to this whole thing but ive always been interested in dnd. I know almost nothing about dnd except for some games ive played like vermintide (not even sure if it counts) any ideas on how to start? most vids ive watch on yt isnt exactly the best tutorial and most of the time its for being the DM

there is some great basic infor in the bot.
oh sick tqvm
ywvm
Just did and I m pretty sure you can’t control the item created by performance of création tho i havent found that much info about objects that are technically conceptual so ig it s really up to the DM
Broadly speaking, you can only do the things a rule grants you the ability to do.
If they could make the object levitate, it would say so.
Since it doesn’t say so, they can’t.
Yes, most GMs will outright reject it. It's they who determines what homebrew is allowed
Creating characters is great practice for beginners, but for a PC that you actually plan on playing you should have guidance from your GM first.
anyone know of some beginner friendly campaigns? im looking in #looking-for-players channel but i dont see any that say beginner friendly
You can try asking the GM if the game is newbie friendly. Some don't bother to mention it
From my experience, most GMs welcome new players as long as you put in the work before session 0 (learning the rules for instance).
Hey!
Hellloooooooo ive wanted to play dnd for a whileeee but my freinds always stop after a session or two and never mention it again when I ask so I just cant): and im wondering if there is a way to play otherwise without having to pay for a club or be 18 like playing online
Lots of folks play online. Do you already know the rules of the game?
Mostly
Not things like resting or spell slots but i know how to do stats and roll for things like damage or talking

Hi,ive always wanted to play dnd but cant find anyone,is there any party whos beginner friendly? I've just created a character with dnd beyond and im familiar with the rules, just wanted to know
So is it easier to ask around online then in person? Seems so
You can scroll through the posts in #looking-for-players or #looking-for-community and see if any of them strike your interest. Not everyone advertises themselves as newbie-friendly, but they might still be, so don't be shy to ask!
Or post an ad yourself in #looking-for-dm by following the instructions in #find-a-game.
In a way. With online, you're not bound by geography, so that can help like-minded folks connect!
The downside is you're in the same haystack as everyone else.
Alright guess ill try online should i do anything before or find people then try out making characters and stuff
Also for the lfg do i not post but look for a group?
Hey! I wouldn’t call myself new but I’ve been looking to get back into dnd.
Read the rules and learn them as best you're able. Practice making a character to get a sense of the process. Then you can post an ad yourself and look for a group. Or do either one. Up to you.
I will post because i cant do 6 to 11 on a tuesday
Im looking at the "looking for players" channel and all of them are either full,or for 18+😢
If you’re >18 you might want to see if your school/college as some kind of D&D club.
You might try #looking-for-community. Or post an ad yourself in #looking-for-dm, but odds are usually better when you search proactively. Most GMs don't go looking for players but instead let players approach them.
Alternatively local game stores.
Btw,im trying to post on the "looking for dm" but the server doesn't let me write on any of the channels you mentioned :' (
You create the post using a bot command in #find-a-game
You can type the command that begins with /looking in any channel.
I WISH I COULD DO THAT but nooo im in a tiny ass 3k people town ☹️☹️
Try running games for your family and friends. Or GM for players online.
My sister plays dnd online and doesnt wanna play with me and my dads too busy and my friends are also way to busy and nobody wants to nerd out with me... and all online games are 18+ istg
Why not make your own game?
Not all, there are some out there. Understandably, most online GMs will only run public games for 18+
Nobody wants to play with a under 18 newbie dm 💔💔
Yeah I mean I get it ofc, most ppl my age are really really annoying
Have you tried posting on here before?
I haven't, should i? I mean I havent even finished writing the history for all my city's on my map
Well i would get to a point you feel comfortable starting a campaign and then try to create a game on here
You don't need to do that.
Hey just FYI, its against server rules to share your real age. You should edit this post before the mods delete it
Better?
yep that works. Thanks
But... history fun
If you find it fun, then do so. But it's not required for being a good GM.
If you're doing it for fun, that's perfectly fine. You definitely don't need to do that before you start playing. Don't hold yourself back because you think you "aren't ready"
Also if you want to start dming, maybe find an official module or one shot to run to get a handle on the game before making your entire own world?
Huh... mkayyyy im rlly proud of my map though (it has three four towns/city's and three BIIIG mountains
)
I probably should, but I can't find anyone to play with so I got bored, I've made a map, three playable characters and a couple npcs
Heyy im also a beginner,we could look for a beginner friendly campaign together!
YIPAAAYYY
YAY
Its ok to make your own setting for your game, even as a first time DM. I wouldn't say that you need to avoid doing that. However, its very important that you remember that the point of making a world is to play a game in it. You don't need to make a bunch of cities and history if that's not part of the actual game the players will be playing. Don't just try to make things as detailed as possible for the sake of it. Think about how the players are going to interact with your world, and what will actually be important to them. Start with the town the players start in, and develop more when the story takes you in a specific direction
WAIT THATS THE BEST ADVICE IVE GOTTEN??? Thank you kind soul 🙏
Also, completely in a different direction... what do you guys think about a centaur bard thats absolutely terrified of rodents... like will faint if one touches her
We have #character-discussion for getting into more detail, but for me, it doesn't say much about the kind of character they are. What are their goals, what's their default attitude, how do they approach strangers, problems, etc.? It's fine to have a flaw, but personally I think a character needs more, at least for long-term play. For a one-shot, you may have enough!
Sorry, didnt realize there was another thing for that, im way to used to servers having like 2 discussion places
No worries!
But she also has nothing more about her so far tbh💔 I just thought it was kinda funny that a big horse lady was scared of rats
Thats just one of the characteristic this character probably has, there's no way that would be the only personality trait..obviously the character is probably more detailed
I wouldnt assume that it's their whole personality😂 😅
Hi
Welcome
Yes ahha thats a nice character trait : D
Hi
Nahhh,100% whole personality it being scared if rats, perfect, charecter finished... doesn't even need a name
I thought her name was big horse lady?
She ends up being the Rat Queen by level 20 >: D
Peak character development
Ultimately, I recommend making a character that fits the group. If everyone's making characters with one trait, aces. If folks are bringing more depth, though, you'll probably be best served fleshing the concept out more.
Ofc I would flesh her out more, I was being sarcastic, sorry
...yes

does anyone have recommendations on where to buy dice?
Do you have any local game stores in your area? Shopping locally is generally the best option
i think i do
I would Google game stores in your area and pay them a visit, see what theyve got in terms of dice
You also may be able to find a group through the store as well if you dont already have one
Yeah, I bought my dice at a store.
I bought my first set at a store as well
I got mine at GameStop which I didn't know GameStop sold dice.
A basic set should be easy to come by. Barring local shops, you can find polyhedral dice on the likes of Target, Walmart, and Amazon. Fancier dice is another story. You can peruse #merch-and-dice to see what folks have bought for themselves!
thats where i got my first set of dice
I'd be weary of Amazon, my parents once ordered some off of there and they were not balanced at all
Yeah I remember I bought a backpack from Amazon
But instead they shipped me a sleeping bag.
It's best to buy from an established brand like Chessex
Eh, you can find Chessex dice on Amazon, and they're great. I think it's more a matter of paying attention to sellers.
True, but you could also just order off chessex directly
I’m not sure if this has been said yet but digital dice are also an option if you don’t want to buy dice. I actually prefer digital dice at this point because I use digital character sheets and monster stat blocks so it’s really nice to have everything on the same screen
im gonna try my local store before the websites
This is the best way honestly
to me digital dice dont hold the same impact of real dice
Some game stores dont allow digital devices while playing
i really want to buy the one pound of defective dice from this website i found
NOELLE?
yeah it me noelle deltarune
noelle(real)
Ohhhhh alr
Please keep the channel clear for its intended purpose to help new folks with the game!
sorry
Ok>:
Howdy, so this is my first year DMing and I’m looking for some new players for a West March campaign I’m writing. I tried going to the “looking for players” tab but I’m not super tech savvy and all I saw was other people posting these applications but I can’t find where to fill out and post one for my campaign? It may be a dumb question so sorry for asking.
The info for how to post is in #find-a-game.
No one is messaging on my add]:
Thank you
Whats a west march i wanna play a campaign im new
Feel free to DM me! I don’t wanna clutter this chat 🙂
why? you can ping me if you want (probably wont join but still)
It's basically a large group of DMs and players that play together in a shared world. Sessions happen more frequently, but you may be playing with different party members each time.
Doesnt sound like my thing
Hello
Helloolo

Does anyone know the lore différence between a Fae, a fey and a Fairy in DnD ?
Fae and Fey are just two different spellings of the same word. Fairies are a specific type of creature, which just so happens to be categorized as fey.
Fey = Dog
Fairy = German Shepard
What is a artificer
basically a technology mage
I made a character a few months ago when i tried to play with freinds and that wasnt a option on the website
Wounds cool
you have to buy it
Buying a class?
Cant i just like go on a difftent website with that as a option
Is this like pirating a game
Artificier is the 13th class in D&D, and the only one that's not available as part of this free basic rules. The general concept of the class is that they are magic item craftsmen, and their powers and abilities revolve around creating magic items and other objects imbue with power to help them fight and support allies in combat
Artificers are not part of the free rules, so yes, if you access information about them without purchasing it or going through other legal channels like renting it from a library, then that would be pirating that material
Artificer is my favorite class.
Have you played it a lot?
Wait do you guys use a website for dnd?
Dnd some bullshit you dont have freinds that wanna play now you have to search the 7 seas to find players
I typically use D&D Beyond for digital rulebooks and character sheets
I'll try using those tysm for telling
I use roll20 myself
I would use dnd beyond if i got to play
It really depends what the DM you find uses.
Most places allow the DM to share what they have freely with the players
Finding a group can be the longesg part of the process mostly because there are so many more players than dms.
But other places to find games include colleges or libraries as well as local game stores.
Thats true. Dms are generous
Tbh now im starting to feel sad just being here ive wanted to play so long and every time i think i can get to play something happens
Yeah, I prefer my players to use roll20 because I have both PHBs on it which means they have access to all of that content to use in my games
look at some more posts! ask around, find a pbp one, anything!
It can be hard. But slowly make friends and eventually you could be invited rather than searching, thats how i got into DnD
I like google docs. Mainly because i made a homebrew ttrpg haha.
i did too lol. it was technically educational but still
then find a game with strangers
There are people looking on the internet to play all the time. Just gotta find the right group
I try to here but they got some wierd timings because people have off from work probaly on that day while im in school
then try finding a pbp game
Well what time zone are you Shinji? Usually finding someone with close timezones can help
Though i aint one to talk, i had sessions with people from USA, Australia and Europe. To find time is a nightmare.
How did that even work
I've played with folks all over the world. It was the middle of the night for them but afternoon for me. Some people are able to make it work!
My friend in the USA would be awake at 1am.
It wasnt the best haha
I felt horrible every time
I can imagine lol. But if it works it works.
Truue
I assume I am immune to my own flaming sphere?
Nope!
Unless a spell specifies otherwise, you are just as susceptible to its effects as any other target. That's why a wizard's Fireball can be so dangerous in tight quarters!
Hmm, that makes using it a bit more complicated lol!
Started dnd today playing a teifling rouge
But what if your a teifling
Precisely. It will also hurt your allies unless they have damage mitigation options.
Some tieflings have resistance to fire damage but not immunity, so they take half damage rather than full. Still damaged, though.
Oh cool
Tiefling species features would kick in to do what they say they do.
Infernal tieflings have fire resistance but not immunity.
Legacy tieflings same feature.

is D&d beyond common if you wanna play online?
It's a tool used by some groups
But really all you need is the free basic rules, character sheets, ways to roll dice, and a way to communicate
?tag new online
Greetings!! I'm currently on the search for my first DM and group of people to play my first campaign with. I was hoping some seasoned players would see this and answer a couple of questions;
What advice do you have for a new player looking for a campaign to join?
Do you have any tips for playing your first campaign?
Since I have the intention of recording sessions for content on my business socials (beyond having a blast and making new friends!), does anyone have any experience with recording sessions? And beyond being candid upfront about my intentions, what else is good to know about communicating with your party?
Any and ALL advice is immensely appreciated!
✨Chaos Invited✨
im new too but theres a tab for finding a DM
- Spend some effort learning the core game mechanics and how to make and use a character sheet
- Make sure you know and understand the group/game's expectations and boundaries. Try and be a team player and help everyone, DM included, have fun playing together.
- Be mindful of others at the table - make sure they have time to have their characters shine!
- Make sure everyone is okay with being recorded if that's something you want to do. Most folks play D&D to have fun playing a game together, not to publicize themselves or become a recorded entertainment for others.
And folks looking for a game, please note it's off-topic to soliciti/organize games outside of the Looking For Game channels.
Please read #find-a-game to learn how to use our Looking For Game channels.
This is appreciated, thank you very much for your response!
Where do I start guys? The guide is so confusing
I understand how the dice work a little bit tho
But creating a character is the hardest part for me
Which one? The one on dnd beyond?
What?
Which guide are you looking at,
I'm writing on paper
That'd be nice
First of all though, consider checking at #learn-to-play
Or just start here, up to you
First decide your character’s name, gender, species and class.
Classes include;
Barbarian
Fighter
Cleric
Rogue
Warlock
Artificer in 2014 rules
Wizards
Sorcerer
Ranger
Paladin
Druid
Bard
Ahh I see
Im also new so idk if i have good advise but i would search up d&d beyond just to see what all that stuff does even if your making the sheet on paper
You can also print out character sheets on dnd beyond
Do you have an idea as to what kind of player you'd like to be or what you want to do in the game? Or not really?
I thought dnd Could be about anything?
Hi is there a dnd wiki or any website I could search some terms from?
I'm new sorry

It CAN be, but official dnd has these classes as a way to put structure and balance to the game. Plus, most things can be put into these classes.
If you do something that’s not legal or confirmed in the books, we call it homebrew
Except if the changes are purely thematic and don’t change gameplay at all
Hiiii I'm new asl never played DND ik it's hella fun big fan of dwarfs discussion is filled with scary big boy words and I think I'd like it here 🖐️
Wazzzupp
How can we help ya
I don't need any help I think
Just think the vibe here would be better?
Currently reading the messages in discussion see if I can understand anything lol
Hehe. Can you?
No 😞

A common misconception.
lol ive been watching the chat, this is quite overwhelming. Always wanted to play...took the time to read the basic rules this afternoon and make a character on D&D Beyond. Just need to get the opportunity to jump into a beginner friendly game soon lol
Howdy, I am newish to DND and am really interested in learning/playing a cleric as a support (like buffs, healing 👩⚕️ etc.) If anyone has any good resources specific to this role I'd love to watch/read - Thanks!!
I’ve used rpgbot’s guides in the past
This is the 2014 version, but you can find the 2024 guide on the website
Otherwise, just ask us

I've got very limited cleric experience (comfortably up to around level 5) so take whatever I say with a grain of salt. In my experience, melee combat is a bit of a trap when you have better alternatives (unless you're playing War Domain). Sacred Flame is usually a pretty good offensive option. Life Domain cleric has some really solid healing, and you could probably solely be the party's healer through those resources alone.
Cleric has also taught me a lot about action economy, and the importance of bonus actions. Healing Word is always a solid option for support, and Spiritual Weapon is good, reliable damage with a bonus action. Those are both level 1 and 2 spells, if I remember correctly. Also, remember to use divine spark. I don't.
Again, this is just my three cents, so you might want to listen to someone more experienced than I.
OoOoo magic. I didn’t know it did that!
This is really great! Thank you. I believe I would be most interested in being a primary healer as I tend to prefer these roles in when I play mm games etc.
No problem. I’d consider Life Domain Cleric. Also, don’t railroad yourself into only being a “heal bot”. You also can have access to heavy armor and shields (AC18 if you get chain mail. Trust me, that’s very good), and plenty of support spells and abilities. Being proactive is the best skill you can have as a support, in any game, really.
For cleric subclasses (domains):
Life Domain Cleric is an amazing healer
Twilight Domain is a great utility and sustain (gives a good amount of temporary hit points)
War domain cleric is a martial choice
Peace Domain Cleric buffs your allies a TON
Forge domain is tanky as hell, and is great for if you REALLY hate dying
Arcana Domain is like a wizardry cleric
Knowledge domain makes you very versatile at the expense of being a nerd
Order Domain helps with action economy and is a good overall commander
Light Domain Cleric does good damage while still being able to heal
Tempest Domain is if you want to be a tank AND deal good damage
Trickery domain provides good utility and trickery (who would have thought)
I genuinely don’t remember anything about Nature Domain
Death Domain is for villains, don’t remember much else
Grave Domain is amazing against undead
Peace Domain is my fav cuz it makes everything a lot easier, but all the other ones are cool too.
Most of the classes in dnd have magic in some way shape or fo, with Druids, Clerics, Wizards, Sorcerers and Bards being what we call full casters (their level of magic goes to the max, which is 9th level)
Hey guys. I'm planning on having a DnD one-shot with my family someday. How do I get my parents into joining it?
Cool! That's really helpful. Thanks!
That is oddly specific but hey it’s perfect
Id say probably use dominate person if you know it
Some rules are more important than others, but most are fairly important
I’d recommend trying to find someone to host a “practice” session, where you can learn the basics
#learn-to-play has some good guides if you haven’t looked at them yet
A rule is only important when its needed, theres the main ones that will always be used and the rarer ones that are useful when required, just learning the main ones is enough for the time being and then you can pickup the others as required
Can someone help me. I've been trying to get into dnd cuz it looks so fun but i have no clue how to play. Could anyone help me out.

Is there any way for a new player to easily find a game in their own time zone? I see a lot of posts in LFP are not even putting in time zones 🙁
u can post in #looking-for-dm as a player to find a group
Thanks Gaminator
Hello guys can somebody help me with my question about creating a character
Seems I don't have access to thatchannel 🙁
It’s my first time
u can use the command to post in #find-a-game
and it will automatically post it there
u can only post weekly tho so, make sure u add everything u want in your post
You're gonna wanna consult with your DM about your stat rolls and what not. Once you've got that figured out I'd be more than happy to help
Sorry I’m busy rn but check out #learn-to-play
You do you just have to send the /looking command in any channel where you can type
What you trying to make?
I was thinking about a desert Druid
Land Druid is a thing. Anyway gtg
But I don’t have a dm to talk to so I’m trying to get a bit of help from y’all
Use standard array for your stats and read the Druid classes guide
No tag Druid found in category new.
do ppl like standard array more then the point buy system?
It’s a nice well rounded set of scores
Point buy can give you the standard array scores
yeah i know, just seen some ppl memeing on the point buy system in some videos and were wondering if ppl don't like it that much if u use it
Point buy lets you dump more than one stat to really tailor your points to fit the character
I’d say the most important things to do first are:
Species
Class (you got this covered)
Possibly future subclass
Backstory
Motivation
Oh, and Name+Gender
does anyone know if there is any other good way to find a dm? my post from yesterday already got pushed back and i doubt anyone will scroll up enough to see it 😅
Look through the #looking-for-players and respond in the thread attached to each ad that interests you
Spread your net wide there are lot of places to look for games other than here `iamrazorwing's Game Finding Guide
yeah i posted on the dnd beyond forums as well and searching where else i could look, also looked through the looking for players channel, but it's either not for beginners or the timing doesn't match up with when i could play
Ask the DMs if they welcome new players we all were new at some point so most DMs will accept
Are there many Aussies on here? I see a lot of U.S posters so far.
did u end up posting?
There might be an Aussie based D&D Discord.
Not yet. I was just curious 🙂
What what whaaaaat?! 🙂
oh alright, just didn't see it pop up in the channel and was wondering if u needed help with it 😁
From my experience, no. People prefer point buy
What? It's closer to a 50/50 split in my experience
Different groups can have different experiences...
Point buy is literally just standard array+
Just pick a method that works for you and your group
No need to worry how others do it.
Aye. Doesn't matter if 90% run it one way, if your DM runs it the other
G’day mate.
Wait that sounds really racist if you don’t know I’m an Aussie.
But why do I feel like that’s fitting for being an Aussie?
Idk. Anyway I live in Australia.
Hi everyone
Heya guys. So I'd like your opinions. New to D&D, been playing pbp as a druid which I'm finding fun. If anything happens to the character I was wondering, is it best to play as all the different classes or stick to and learn the mechanics of one or two favs? Ta 🙂
Hello!
It's more about playing what you like. Which might sound a wishy-washy answer, but honestly a character is going to last much longer and be more engaging if you actually like the class concept and playstyle.
So it's fun to try out different classes if you have the motivation and concept behind one, but if you just really enjoy playing a few classes, don't feel you have to play a different one.
How would you choose a class?
It depends on what playstyle you think you’ll like and how cool each of them sound
You can always look over the basic descriptions of them and see which ones jump out at you and spark ideas. https://www.dndbeyond.com/classes
You can also go by what your group is making- filling in gaps in the party composition.
Or just randomise it! Sometimes making a choice is really hard when you don't know all the ins and outs, taking the decision making out of it and just making you focus on a randomly assigned class can also work.
Dungeons and Dragons (D&D) Fifth Edition (5e) Classes. A comprehensive list of all official character classes for Fifth Edition.
some people go with mechanics first, others with characterisation first, some go with vibes or flavor first.
Yeah I like the druid so far as it's concentration for spells not having a bunch of stuff. I'd be down to play a randomised character and form their story as I go. Thanks 😊
For me, I’m a sucker for unarmed combat in fiction, like going and hitting fast, and enjoy a mix of damage and crowed control/support, so monk was an obvious choice.
Oh ok cause I always wanted to start dnd as a character who attacks from the shadows and only shadows
They can teleport between shadows and attack opponents
Very cool
Np
Well specifically, they can teleport between dark places
And create darkness too
Honestly that sounds over powered
nah its pretty balanced. all this stuff costs actions and resources
True that’s fair
It really isn't

Struggling to get my character into shape in D&D beyond...
the biggest obstacle is finding a group to play with really, if u watched a few videos and know just the basics and how the character sheet works you are basically good to start and learn while playing
what part of it r u struggling with?
Hold on.
The part in creating character sheet
Sadly I cannot post a screenshot of it
u can dm me if u want
That might be better
You could try describing the issue to us, but having DM’ing someone in particular usually yields better results

Do you often find groups quickly or does it take a while
It takes a while: there are a lot more players than DMs, so they can be overwhelmed with interested candidates. Plus, you need to be sure you're all compatible. Not to mention the time it takes to schedule and set up a game!
finding a group is a lot different from finding the right group for you
Ok
d&d is first and foremost a social game, so it's very important that the group you're playing with has the right vibes for you.
suffering through a game/group that you're not having fun with is one of the biggest drainers of fun
I’m a pretty social guy but sometimes people think I’m a bit over the top when it comes to things I liek
i'm sure you'll find a group that works well for you.
are you looking for online or inperson play?
Online
Truth be told Legends of Avantris is what hooked me up on DND
Truth be told I found out about dnd when my friend said it’s for people who like fantasy
for online, the lfg section here is definitely a great place to start looking, as is roll20 (website)
I know that’s why I’m excited
Good to hear
have you practiced building characters on d&d beyond yet?
i say practice because when you find a game you should really build a character that is specifically for that game
Good advice
Yes
Asking all my questions for me gng
It’s the official dnd website
There’s a character creator on there we recommend you learn how to use
Dnd beyond also has many guides, pre-made adventures and information that could be helpful to check out
even without paying anything, dndbeyond gives you access to a fair amount of content, classes, races, etc
different tables/games can very likely have different "house rules" or ways the dm understands/enforces the rules
Sometimes, but there are mostly universal rules we follow. Things that are added to it are called “house rules” or, for more specific cases “homebrew”
@noble vale sorry imma need you to help them cuz I need to sleep
Sorry I couldn’t help yall more, but cya
Ok so do I just select all for now while making my character
If you’re just practicing then yup. If u have a DM now or in the future they may tell u not all of them
Or don’t, can’t tell you what to do.
There’s so many classes gang
for practice, give yourself all the content you have access to
That’s a good thing just take your time and skim read the basic info on them until one catches your eye. You’ll know it when u read it
If you’re referring to the “sources” tab on D&D beyond’s character creator, I would personally recommend that you only enable Core Rules and Expanded Rules. Disable everything else including “Partnered Content.” The reason being, Core and Expanded are the only rules sources that are official and currently up to date. All of the other source categories are either out of date or unofficial content.
I like cleric
cleric is a great class, gives you some attacks, defense, magic, and heals
you might also be interested in paladin
I liek cleric better

it is
I chose cleric because it was cool when I read its summary
i'd suggest building a cleric at level 1, and then build one at level 3
Is there a bot in the discord for playing D&D With AI or with friends?
not in this discord, but certain servers that have avrae can use it to generate dungeons
do you know which ones?
you'll have to check the looking for games section down below, communities will be your best bet.
however i don't know of any currently doing that
thx
Is my race important
it can be
How so
they can provide various bonuses which may synergize well with your "build"
or one might feel like the right vibes for you
Ok so say I was a cleric who is a Goliath what would taht do
make you a big guy who's into the gods, uses a shield, armor, and magic
Ok
which backgrounds are you looking at?
I’m only looking at core rules because it makes sense
background is another piece you add to your character, along with race and class
I went for acolyte
that makes a lot of sense for cleric, yes
I knwo that’s what I said
sage could be another decent pick
did you pick spells? you do that where you pick your class
as a level 1 cleric i think you'd get.... 4 cantrips and 3 level 1?
Yes I did
solid. it can be easy to overlook
What’s cantrips
cantrips are spells.
spells which can be used an unlimited number of times each day
during a turn you may only be able to use 1 or 2 of them (with the right build), but overall you can use them as much as you want
I chose light sacred fire cure wounds
light and sacred flame are cantrips, cure wounds is a level 1.
you should have a bit more cantrips and level 1s
I only got those 2 cantrips
Cantrips: 0/3
Prepared Spells: 0/4(20 Known)
I chose intelegence does that make a difference
Those three spells are from Acolyte's Magic Initiate feat.
okay so, over on your Cleric class page, tab back over to that.
Ok
see "spells" in the middle of the page, on the right?
Ummm does rogue half elf make any sense🤣🤣🤣
Yes
sure!
pick spells in that section as well!
Unfortunately there no beast man so I had to go with half elf
Ok
ask your dm if you can reflavor as being a hairy dude
Hell no I wanna be a wolf girl
okay, ask if you can be a hairy chick
i'm usually very lenient on flavor, as long as mechanics remain the same
What ability score suits my shi best
My weoping master picks where revolver and dagger
There is a species of beast-coded folk, called Shifter. Unfortunately, they're not part of the free species opinions, and will require a supplement purchase.

@hearty blaze TY - This really helps. I was finding some of the forums overwhelming.
It's very unlikely that you're going to be able to start with a firearm, and some games don't even allow them at all. I'd recommend Shortbow or Light Crossbow instead.
Whats the performance skill ?
It's a skill used to make checks like playing music, dancing, or telling stories
