A piece I did recently of a character inspired by a game my husband ran. She is a human paladin of Sekolah, the shark god of the Sahuagin. It’s a long story (with spoilers for Salt Marsh, though he ran it quasi homebrew-ish) how a human came to serve Sekolah. Anyway everything about her is meant to evoke shark-y-ness, from the black eyes to the weapon, tattered red cloak, shield with emblem if Sekolah (I couldn’t find one so I made one up), etc. The art is Copics, pen, and colored pencil on tan toned paper.

Here is the lore behind the horns (in Kaia’s world) Long ago, there was a deal struck between Asmodeus in the Hells and Mielekke, goddess of forests. Mielekke had in her forests more evil aligned fey (night hags, specifically) than she wanted in her dominion, and Asmodeus ruled over more good aligned tieflings than he wanted to. So they reached a mutually beneficial arrangement where Asmodeus basically unloaded a bunch of good aligned tieflings and gave them to Mielekke to live in a forest of hers, and Mielekke gave Asmodeus a bunch of night hags to live in his area of the Hells. During the transfer, the band of tieflings sent by Asmodeus (which included Kaia's and Zaizad's ancestors) were touched by Mielekke, and their horns grew to resemble antlers.

Her name comes from the Greek muse whose name means “meditation; practice.” She fights with a broom of flying that she uses partly as a quarterstaff, partly as a vehicle. Blood hawk feathers are tied to the broom.

Eraza is split into the four kingdoms of Nerudia (mainly a fishing and trade economy, the most racially diverse kingdom), Seratic (mainly farming economy, inhabited mainly by triton, humans and gnomes), Palaminal (mainly mining economy and dwarves) and Maknart (fairly verstile economy, inhabited by dragonborn in the south and wood elves in the north). The northern three are relatively peaceful and well connected. Maknart is in a state of permanent civil war, but regularly declare war on other kingdoms to distract from the inner political turmoil. The party started in southern Maknart and are currently making their way north on the run from a criminal organisation they double crossed.

Generally? Measure a lot. Then give yourself an any extra room you can. Do not think that just because your dice and figure fit that everyone’s will.
Experiment a lot - sell the failure/prototypes at a deep discount and just keep going.

So a monodrone has 1 eye, 1 manipulator and 1 'face' (a sphere)
Gonna use a bisected sphere with bifuricated limbs for duodrone and so on
I'm not sure if their weapons are going to be held or integrated, but I think held might give a cute little dorkiness to them

I never really wished for Gnolls, but just got them randomly and was like “Oh, cool.” Now that I also have a Yeenoghu miniature I’m actually glad I have a small army of gnolls

update on my birb box
i had to take it back outside after snapping a few pics. still smells like chemicals
the wood PLA turned out better than i expected. note I used a dark stain and left it on about 4-5x longer than recommended before i wiped it off.
I also roughed up the wood using some large grain sandpaper.. that helps sell that its "wood"
magnets work really well. (those are 2mm x 4mm in case anyone wants to try making something similar.)

For example, the northern lake creates a river that leads out to sea, but what feeds the lake itself? I think a river (or two) leading from the mountains into the lake would be great. Likewise, the river just below it seems to spring into being a bit too far away from the mountain range, I think it could use an extension.

That island is mostly tundra, but the Protectorate is home to the singular school of magic and they are a neutral political force over the nations. Since their city is primarily home to magic casters i'm thinking that they can probably through trade and magic solve most of their problems. For simplicity I could just say there is a freshwater spring or something of that sort nearby.

I'd recommend focusing close to home and on what matters most.
And expand from there.
Reasons are twofold, it keeps you from "wasting" good writing if later developments invalidate it or never touch upon it, and it lets your world be more reactive to your needs and the players' actions.

Hiii guys, I finished that Aasimar of mine I was working on. I don’t often draw my own characters, but when I do, I like to draw them on 11”x14” paper

I burned through like 3/4 of a gel pen 😢
