presenting some scenario which requires the players to think about their characters in the physical world they're occupying. I don't really want a Skill roll or a single Spell cast to solve a puzzle. Riddles are a solid example. As long as players come up with an answer to a riddle that feels reasonable and judtifiable, I let that answer work.
I had a game in which a "what am I?" riddle's answer was "a secret" but the players instead opted to speak aloud a secret of their characters'. I figured that was fair enough and let them pass.
Alr, i created the form to look for a dm
Yall wanna see my character sheet, stats are naturally roll with no rerolls
you might end up rerolling those anyway
Thanks for the offer, but no need
My party doesn't think all the trouble we went through to get a chest is worth it. I say if it's trapped with disintegrate, then it's gotta have something good.
I doubt we know, be where would I find any information on if Sebastian Crowe Guide to Drakkenhiem would be coming to DDB?
Yeah, people don't usually protect things by disintegrating thiefs unless they feel its something worth protecting. Some acid or lightning might deal with a common thief. Disintegrate implies they think whoever wants the chest is powerful enough that its needed.
I mean, considering the last time I pulled a random chest out of water during a random encounter, we found out it was some 10th level cleric spell we haven't identified because I keep forgetting to show our cleric.
This better be good
unless ur a beholder
Tomorrow is our first session after a two year hiatus.
I don’t even know where my notes for this campaign are haha.
Wish me luck! 🤞🏼
Good luck, hope you have fun man!
What happened
The dm ruined my characters backstory and ruined the INTRO IDEA I HAD
How so?
Pardon me but, you didn't let him know about the intro you were planning beforehand?
Well it wasn’t MINE he said he would do one thing and then didn’t do it
Sorry I’m just really upset
He used a different intro then you had in mind?
He said that the rest of the party was going to meet my character at a pub and then made them meet in a marketplace and made them all know eachother
ALL
Huh
Oh, I can see how that is irritating
I prefer that a PC knows some party members and doesnt know others
Yeah sorry. That sounds annoying.
oh new dm?
Like I was thinking I was gonna be mysterious and then he says “You see your old friend” and I it immediately took me out of the campaign
I DID AND THEN HE SAID “oh I don’t care”
usually decide in session 0 for me, i explain things like this
sounds like my parents
but damn talk to ur dm
He’s also like “your character does this” “your character should say something like this…”
I wanna get a divorce BAD
yea def talk to ur dm then he should not have done that u decide what ur character that's the whole point of dnd
in to a divorce?
It was such a good backstory and now I’m shaking and tweaking 😔
I dont know if ur dm would just let you retcon it maybe?
pov what my players almost did
Maybe you can swing it to the other people know your character but it is an alias, thats not actually who your character is. Still mysterious. But works within the "you've seen these people before"
He wouldn’t 😔🙏
they walked the wrong way was and died to a (few?) beholder
I WISH HE DID THIS BUT NO
He pulled out my pcs full government
That's the alias!
If you see a mod typing and immediately think your post was the cause, maybe you need to rethink some posting habits.
We do just converse with folks here
well like no offense but the mods here is strict as heck
I’m gonna just use this backstory for a fantasy mc
a monster, check dm
Hello i have a quick question are there any other items of something similar to rope of climbing bag of holding or decanter of infinite water?
and uhh because our school year is coming to an end (it's for a dnd club) i gave them a ring of 3 wishes
sooo... yea
kinda
bag of devouring is the anti-bag of holding
The handy haversack is another
I have definitely seen a mod (and other users I know tbqh lol) typing, then I say something completely unhinged, watch them stop, and then start a few seconds later.
I like to think it’s a skill I’m curating.
Should I give it to my players?
I do it too. I constantly self-edit.
Okay
Are there any other items that require some creativity to be used and not like +1 sword and stuff
Like immovable rod
... Ball Bearings
Hmm. Sovereign Glue?
no well it's like a carry on trash can with unlimited volume
What glue we using lol supper glue
Aren't those in rogues staring kit?
Oh haha sovereign glue is a magic item. It definitely takes a lot of creativity to use in a fun way.
It only dissolves with universal solvent (also magic item).
you said "items", that's an item
some of them don't have discord and i gave them a ring of 3 wishes because my other dm friend said so too and it turned out to be pretty fun, they still haven't decide on how to use it
Ohh mb
Potter it is
(The 1000 ball bearings... and an additional ball)
Why does it have to be 1000? Why can’t it be infinity?
just a quick question, a rogue who has a 30ft move speed dashes twice in a turn, that's 90 ft yeah?
Infinity is infinity
u know u can sell them for $$$ right?
if it doesn't have any other external modifications, yeah
yea
There could be Longstrider, Charger Feat, Boon of Speed, etc. But if you only have 30 ft movement and nothing else then yeah
I mean, I could sell them for money. You are right on that.
iirc the fastest monster in dnd can move up to like 600+ft in 1 turn
I say no that
My monk player has 185ft of movement at level 5...
in infinite = infinite money 😛
Home Alone
I mean, yeah I would like infinity money
You wouldn't
Ball Bearings is the new meta, son
bag of 1000 is 1gp iirc
You're now in debt for negative infinity dollars
No
the economy crashes
lol he's gonna break the world record for 100m dash
?
wdym
there's a build that moves for up to 6960 ft in one turn
lol just like there a build for carrying like 10tons stuff
I do adjust prices but not due to player wealth
I adjust it based on the npcs attitude
oh i see nope my players really want money but never get that much
Not only do I not do that, I strongly suggest you don't do that.
If you make an npc angry they're gonna upcharge you
oh so like u nice prive go down
i did this when i ran waterdeep
All this dnd talk makes me want to DM again
You should
They won't sell to you if it's a bad cry
So what ur point
lmao my players plot to steal from an adult bronze dragon and they don't ever spend their gold either
Which balance? What purpose does maintaining it serve?
Imma be busy. But one session a week with minimal prep. I could pull it off 😅
If you miss a session, you’re kicked off
truly devious person right here
They made the money. If you feel they have too much money, correct it not by touching the prices but by giving them less money
You're supposed to spend gold.
yea like to bribe ppls
The DM gets kicked off?
Why? Why do you care whether or not they are "wise" with their money?
Nvm
Having a lot of money in my games, encumbrance becomes the main issue
Can you get 3 hrs of session time with 1 hr of prep?
What would 500 potions do
i can get 10h of session time with 1h of prep
Why do you care whether or not they have 500 potions in that backpack? How would 500 potions even fit in the backpack?
Also how are they affording 500 potions.
Efficient, do you use sly flourish lazy dm guide?
lol fr, imaging u suddenly say we're tracking carrying capacity
the what?
I always track carrying capacity
That is a no 🤣
How would they ever use "only potions"? Potions can't kill enemies, they still need to attack or cast spells. Potions can't talk for them.
not a lot but witha bag of holding a lot
I assure you, I do not understand what you mean. And the more you say things, the less I understand
pov throw the empty glass bottles as improvised weapons
Bag of holdings are basically very rare items in my world.
It makes mounts more nice to have.
No. Just confusing.
i made bag of holding very rare items, the only one they got was because they roll insanely high in stealth ans stole it from a beholder
if it's one set of clothes, 52.
subtract another 8 for every additional set of clothes you use to wrap it in
High amounts of Gold really doesn't matter
this is answered by the rules; backpacks can carry up to 30lb inside them, potions weigh 1/2 lb, and clothes weigh 4lb
yeah, lotsa people do
By making things more costly, there is less versatility in items? Yes. Which is why making things more costly just to scale the economy with their own pockets is something you shouldn't do. Among other thingss
@bronze stag yoski, why am i banned from passageways?
If you get lax because you have potions at low levels you're gonna get in trouble.
carrying capacity/encumbrance is going to limit the party before gold does i think
yea beyond ~lv8 it's way easier
i mean unless you're specifically gunning for plate armor
Lot of Gold doesn't trivialize the game early
The weekly session got cancelled again chat 😔
At low levels, I simply do not take damage. Very easy.
Like the best things a lot of Gold early can get you is a Musket and Plate Armor.
This sentence I do not understand
at lower lv, i run away, easy
/j
But thing about Musket and Plate Armor is there's no better stuff for what they're used for anymore without magic items.
Your PC can’t die if you simply do not play D&D. 🧠
also enforce availability by settlement and that'll limit the effects of high gold a little
unless the game's entirely within a big city
For the dm, Monsters are just npcs that you use in combat.
It's a blanket term, I'm assuming for streamlining sake
See, I think this is backwards. While I am a huge believer in creativity needing limits, this is not one of those times. If you want the PCs to think more, giving them items actually allows them to think more. Because items don't do much. But having a vast diversity of items create new challenges and new ways to approach issues. Something as simple as throwing ball bearings in darkness to cover your team's retreat is only possible if you have ball bearings.
Im gonna rip out your soul these gloves
When all you have is a hammer, you can think a lot, but you're never going to get any idea other than smash stuff.
Or someone sneaking away then using a Bell to draw an enemy patrol their way away from the party or something
Because people trip on ball bearing. That's what they're for.
Gloves of soul catching is such a god tier item
Should I give up trying to join this campaign because since I’ve been introduced to it 2 sessions have passed that I couldn’t make because of scheduling conflicts, plus it’s already like 6 other ppl counting the dm
It should be an artifact atp
I don’t have a lot of other options though, this is a small town and not a lot of my friends play this
Most of them don’t actually
I was talking to Daniel Kwan about this shortly after it was released and he said he was trying to make “a monk Holy Avenger” (legendary). And yeah, he succeeded lmao. But I agree, it’s up there with artifacts in terms of power.
I have a Monk PC and I'm super excited to give them the Book of Inner Alchemy and let them craft the Gloves of Soul Catching
Not only does it make your CON a flat 20, which is great as is, but it also makes your unarmed strikes do 2d10, which can heal you OR give you advantage on the next thing you do. It's just such a good idea.
I was gonna leave the call but now there’s a fight
This session is so BORING
Just an amazing legendary for monks
We’re fighting some machines
Judgement
Im not clear on what you are asking for here. We have #tales-from-the-table to talk about things that happen in games. We dont have vent channels because they tend to promote negativity not to memtion we dont allow naming/shaming/flaming.
Not all sessions go at a break neck pace. Sometimes you have exciting combat and daring dos, sometimes you have a shopping or research session.
They all have a place in building player relationships, worldbuilding etc
Thats a sheep
Patience and interaction and the key
You can always put suggestions in #server-feedback but i would try and be more clear on what you want the space to do.
No unsupervised emojis, please.... 🗞️

Correct. Text should also not be nonsense/spam
I'm not a psychopath!
I'm a high functioning psychopath.
Im a low functioning psychopath
I gain peoples trust and then turn them into fiends and trap them in my book at the last moment
Yknow, I never considered that text supervises emojis. Great stuff
nah thats just what Tasha the Witch Queen will do
She's got a travel brochure about demonkind, the Demonomicon of Iggwilv
demonkind
demons
Whoa whoa whoa. Let’s not be hasty.
We should at least give the witch some kind of hearing. Maybe even a trial. That sounds like it’d go well.
I made the Demonomicon
Its a powerful item that traps fiends mainly demons
The spell I use only changes creature type for magical effects and spells
I'm glad you're so anti-demon!! (we just won't mention what you did to the crook of rao...)
My Ex lover was Graz'zt
Poison doesnt taste the best
yea fr
no she cursed it so it has a chance of letting 94,608,000 demons out of the abyss
A philter of love
5%
We all do silly things sometimes
lol
well it depends on how you use it, if you're careful you won't proc the curse at all
using all the charges or using the absolute banishment feature (banishes all fiends within a mile for 100 years)
Honestly if my curse ever happens that sounds more like a "to whom it may concern" cause imma just go somewhere else in the mulitverse
Honestly a very interesting item! Especially after Tasha got to it :D
Of course I can most archfey can
I just read the crook of rao and my goodness that can be bad
Iggwilv's Curse. When the Crook was last used against Iggwilv, the Witch Queen lashed out at the artifact, infecting its magical matrix. Over the years, this curse has spread within the crook, threatening to violently pervert its ancient magic. If this occurs, the Crook of Rao, as it is currently known, is destroyed, its magical matrix inverting and exploding into a 50-foot-diameter portal. This portal functions as a permanent gate spell cast by Iggwilv. The gate then, once per round on initiative count 20, audibly speaks a fiend's name in lggwilv's voice, doing so until the gate calls on every fiend ever banished by the Crook of Rao. If the fiend still exists, it is drawn through the gate. This process takes eighteen years to complete, at the end of which the gate becomes a permanent portal to Pazunia, the first layer of the Abyss.
you sure do know how to do a curse
I guess so
that seems pretty good actually
assuming you can't fix it or anything
None.
pazunia is the first layer of the abyss and also where the portal would lead
there would be some devils and yugloths included too! which would be fun
would definetly mess stuff up but the only people affected would be fiends
100s
Hopefully the demons would kill every devil and yugoloth
At least Devils and Demons are usually too worried about killing eachother, so you might have a chance to escape
It summons one every six seconds for eighteen years.
That calls out ot every demon in the abyss
No, not every demon.
just cast teleport or something
the demons come out really slowly
On a plus
Its easier to reason with Devils
But if you can appeal to a Demons ego or claim total subserviennce...
Every demon
yup. you get one new Demon every round on Initiative Count 20. If a player rolled a 23 on initiative, they'd go before the Demon spawns. if they rolled 19, they'd go after the Demon spawns.
"until the gate calls on every fiend ever banished by the Crook of Rao"
That can be lots of fiends
yeah, presumably there is a ton of demons who were never banished by it though
its not only demons either its fiends
Yeah its definitely more Demons than a party of adventurers can handle, but its not infinite
One every six seconds for eighteen years. In total, that's 94,665,600 fiends summoned
what you could do is take it to a place where the blood war is taking place and use the banishment to deliberately add more demons to the summoning list
wdym?
Thats inside
Or go after demon/devil lords (nevermind it doesn't work on them)
94 million fiends just sounds like "The entire population of your planet needs to step up" tbh
One think that I think is weird is it can summon archdevils but it cant banish them
At the DM's discretion, a portal opens into the presence of an archdevil or demon lord instead, then closes after 5 minutes.
You'd need some of the most powerful guilds and everyone would be willing to work together
It was probably better at its job before it was cursed
OMG THE MORE THIS SESSIOB GOES ON FOR THR MIRE I REMEMBER
HE DROPPED MY FULL GOV WHEN THERE WAS SOMEONE I DIDNT KNOW IN THE SESSION
The crook can just be like hey here is Asmodues have fun
It takes eighteen years for them to all be summoned. It's one every six seconds. Most likely, many of them will kill each other in the chaos
No it cannot. Asmodeus' CR is above 19, therefore the crook cannot banish him, therefore he can't be summoned by the curse
Granted this is only on a roll of a 91 or 100
I reason that this would be the sort of event that makes villains temporary allies with heroes. As much as Tiamat hates mortals, she wants people to rule over.
I reread it but it can open up a portal in his presence
Aka one way ticket to meeting any archdevil
If the curse activates in front of him, yes, the portal opens in his presence and other fiends start flooding his palace.
1 balor and 1 pit fiend appear. At the DM's discretion, a portal opens into the presence of an archdevil or demon lord instead, then closes after 5 minutes.
This is on a 86 or 90
But he is a planar ruler, which means that he can probably prevent a gate from opening in his realm, as per the DMG rules
So demogorgon can just be chilling and boom random portal
Thats prob why it says DM's discretion
cause the crook can also make a balor or pit fiend appear both being above cr 19
Demogorgon's just like:
"Uhm, what the actual flark are you doing in my house?"
Legit
You're referring to what happens on 86-90. I thought we were talking about the Curse.
Yeah I thought it was weird that the crook can only banish cr 19 fiends but can summon and can even introduce you to even stronger fiends
Like the god of fiends
Artifacts are weird like that I guess
Because the banishment is what it was built to do. The rest is the effect of its failing matrix.
The matrix which is failing because Iggwilv cursing it
That makes sense
Just don't use that thing. If you loot it, purify it first.
Iggwilv went through a very bad break up
A simple remove curse can remove it right? cause destorying it is very annoying
As is true with any artifact
I figure it'd need more than Remove Curse
Never mind not even remove curse can do that
No. You need to wash it every day for thirty days in Rao's tears.
that sorta seems like a "bathe it in the Positive Energy Plane for a year" type thing
yeah, u gotta do some obscure weird stuff to fix it
Not that hard. People don't need to be sad to cry.
Lets take the orb of dragon kind for example
A strong wind can irritate the eyes enough to collect a tear. Same with onions
A good hit with a +2 weapon should break it
Make him laugh or punch him in the gut, should be good enough
Which winds are making a god cry? Where do you get the onions to make Rao shed a tear?
The crook does give an example
One way to make the emotionless god cry would be to reunite Rao with the spirit of his first worshiper who sought revelations beyond the multiverse long ago
maybe just irritate the eye, yeah. a bit of pepper or feathers should do the trick
The gust of wind spell. Any vegetable garden.
Growing onions is not that hard
I see no reason why a god should have onion immunity
Also I feel like getting to Mount Celestia is the real issue
Plane shift. Astral Projection. Pre-existing portals. Gate. Plenty of options.
By the time you're dealing with Artifacts, Planar Travel isn't often an issue
Normal onions will make Rao cry? Normal weapons can barely hurt an emperyean, and that’s three tiers of divinity beneath him
Don't be so sure. You can start a campaign with level 1 PCs finding an artefact.
Does astral do that?
You've always got the Infinite Staircase or River Oceanus if you're struggling to travel instantly
Mmm, Awakened Onions...
GET OU-
All you need is a slight irritation to the eyes. It's not that hard. Eyes are already wet
I'm gonna remain sure lol. You can do whatever in D&D.
How do you know Rao's eyes are wet
I would think they’d have to be perhaps hellish onions, or rare Celestial scallions, or even Fey Onions to make him tear up
its all just onions though
Or, you know, just tell him you need a tear to repair his thingy, and I'm sure he'll try to cry
Honestly getting him to cry doesnt sound all that hard since he is the god of peace
you might just be able to ask him to cry so you can fix the crook
beat me to it
Fastest hands in the west.
he's not a god of acting, can he force a cry on command?
No, but he can try to get an irritation going if he can't. Pepper spray. Onions. Strong winds. Plenty of things can irritate eyes enough to get a tear if emotions don't work
Kind of ironic
Rao looks like a very nice guy
The crook. You know, the thing we've been talking about.
you should be careful with your methods, he might not appreciate being pepper sprayed
The god of peace, reason, serenity, truth and harmony had his artifact cursed by me to open a portal to unleash the most vile creatures
Delicious Heresy, expect Paladins
Give him the most succulent meal he's ever had is also an option
We can be nice to a peace deity smh
Yall can
Or you can show him live footage of the Blood War with a Crystal Ball, and make him feel depressed forever
The calm god
Managing to trudge my domain of dread setting guide along.
Might have it done by s0
punch him in the gut! that makes people cry!
It’s finally done omg
He isnt a people through
Rolls up sleeves "We can't expect ME to do all the work." Picks up the bully adventurers and yeets them into the middle of the Blood War
02:53:35
I just hit the jack pot
what did you win
I can imagine deities won't feel pain from a mortals punch typically
Funny that a god of peace is lawful good. It seems like it's hard to imagine an evil god of peace
50$
We will have peace at any cost god
Please! PLEASE!
I will force you to be peaceful
Chaotic evil God of Peace that believes in peace by any means necessary so he can have his peace and quiet
I want an evil peace deity
Evil peace deity sounds cool as hell
orcus
Orcus is NOT peaceful 😭
Peace is coming to all those who bend their will.
Literally just make it Ramattra from Overwatch /silly
Thats what I was kinda thinking of
I'm thinking that part from the Letter from Birmingham Jail, where MLK laments about people who are "more devoted to "order" than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice"
Ramattra is unironically a really fun villain tbh
History will forgive me even if you cannot
he wants to turn everyone into undead to make the world peaceful
Forgive.
His lines are so corny, but thats okay because Ramattra has aura
Ram has major aura
So an evil peace god would be characterized by peace through control. Through violent immediate repression of any form of dissent. Pax Romana.
Evil Peace God enforicing thing through Violence is a bit of a misnomer.
Peace is not the absence of violence.
I can imagine the design of an evil peace God
Blood stained white robes with a blindfold over their eyes, unaware or uncaring to the harm they're causing
Tokii is cooking
Evil Peace God as they slaughter half a realm "Behold, I am the most peaceful man ever. Nobody does peace like me."
I would go for a person wearing a oversized mail shirt protecting shadows, holding up a bloodied corpse that’s dripping the blood into their eyes
Its literally just Peacemaker from DC Comics
"I love peace. And I'll kill any man, woman or child to get it!"
It ain't real peace if you aren't standing on countless corpses of those who opposed it. - evil God of peace
Hm...
What if they're holding their own head?
To symbolize that their ideals are separate from their heart? 🤔
I like that one.
perhaps this peace god's ultimate goal is to take over the world so no more wars can be waged
I feel like it'd fit a nuanced one.
after all mortals are constantly killing each other, clearly they shouldn't rule over themselves
"My compassion has died long ago. Those who spur the world with chaos deserve no redemption, only to be swiftly silenced so that Peace and Order can prevail. "
Stealing all this.
Maybe their holy symbol is clipped bird wings with a cracked skull in the middle 🤔
redemption paladin is good for this
you can zap people who are violent
The clipped wings obviously representing the lack of freedom and the skull representing unrelenting punishment for those who brew chaos
I dunno if I'm cooking or its cringe lmao
At very minimum, the holy symbol could be a bird in a cage
Subservient, Bound, yet clueless of being trapped
We haven't even passed the first round yet and we already made the poor DM make 20 saves
thats a lot of saves
532 Legendary Resists on the wall, take one down, spend it around, 531 Legendary Resists on the wall...
I might be a thinker
me when i think
I don't think we really need the commentary on a game we're not watching, especially without context
Hi
I did give context. Poor DM is getting buried in saving throws. We're level 2...
Hello hello fellow ranger
How do you even cause 32 saving throws in two rounds at level 2?
A very generous dm
Hello fellow ranger
Primarily Entangle, Fairy Fire, Thunder Wave, Turn Undead
Hru
I mean, you're seeing how my evening is going lol
Multiple enemies then
5 zombies, 4 mummies, and a deathlock. Oh, and 3 venomous snakes
Makes sense then.
Lol i just joined so
hi bonk
hi bonk
Welcome to all the new players in this chat we are so delighted to have y’all in here if there’s anything that you guys have ideas of, please don’t hesitate to bring them to this chat
Well, welcome
More playing my warforged pugilist today :>
Need advice, we just finished first session with new character after tpk and due to some shenanigans with the other players gambling a lot with the deck of many things(yes, we each got one) , one of the players drew flames, the demon who now hates him is related to my god in some way and is asking me to kill that player, perma death
What do I even do
OK, that’s some really good information to know about that as a new player. Wanted to come in and do all that for me if you know who the player is and people are asking you to kill them, don’t listen to what the other players have to say what do you think is best in your interest into doing you really feel like the players should be killed or should you weigh it out a little bit to see what this player does before making a rash decision.
You throw the deck of many things in the nearest trash can, you never touch that thing again.
what do they do
He kicks ass :]
draw every card and see what happens :3
He's a Dog & Hound Pugilist, so he has a Dog companion/ pet subclass
oh i assumed he punched but that works too
also dog!!!!!!! yay :D
I wanna join more campaigns and have more characters
I had an idea for a very honest artillerist
His Dog has some mechanical prosthetic limbs because it was in a rough state when he found it ages ago
poor dog :<
I'm weighing it out, my character is very devoted to his god cuz the God literally saved him but I also like the player and the shenanigans that have happened. I don't want player and character to mix so I'm really unsure what to do, on one hand, the character I play will do anything to accomplish the task given, on the other hand, it's just cruel to kill on the 2nd session. Everyone put so much effort into their characters. As for the deck of many things, I managed to get a deck of many cursed things and it's self regenerating lol, so it never runs out
Tldr, it's player vs character dilemma
The other players don't know the hit list on em cuz it was a private DM from the dungeon master
I mean, if you haven’t doubts about it, also talk to the other players and see what they think too cause their minds might be set different from what you’re thinking or wanted to say but then the guy you have to do what’s in the best interest for you and your teammates but if you think he’s gonna be a good Ally to your guys team, maybe keep him as Ally and see what he does throughout the other sessions but if you don’t think that he is then you gotta make that decision whether you want him there still or not
Thank you
Which do yall think is better, counterspell or dispel magic?
Both are viable and incredibly good to have
That's the thing, the god I'm serving philosophy is solo only, no teammates, chaos for everyone kind of thing. It's literally only me having this dilemma cuz I the player don't want to upset anyone. It's literally the first session so our characters don't know each other, I even hid my race and told the other characters I'm a kobold
Both are good depending on which one u like better
Counterspell is almost a requirement for any caster who can get it
Its a caster ✨️ Staple ✨️
What about as a warlock, is it still useful with so limited slots (2014 5e btw)
just ask for more short rests
Fair point
KOBOLD >:3
depends, used differently
yes short rest is only 1h
He's a red dragon born, just posing as a kobold, no combat yet so it's working
short resting is basically free
Gross dragonborns
evil cousins of the kobold
the most expensive part of short resting is convincing ur Resources/Long Rest party members to do one
Hit Dice ARE basically free healing
Sadly my party has been doing a lot of long combats in big battlefield scenarios where i have to conserve my slots
Its fun ofc but i have to be choosy
gasp
Kobold Supremacy
lol yes fr, all the other spellcasters want long rest
*all other ppl
I mean, this is like my 3rd character ever so I wanted to play some popular ones, I want to play an awakened octopus for my next character lol
conjure fey is such an awful spell now
Well, not really. You do need to spend an entire hour, so if you're on the clock, or you know, in a populated dungeon with guards...
popular or strong
conjure woodland beings is better
how come :<
look at the stuff it can summon
oh wait you said conjure not summon
lol
Yeah but conjure fey is just F tier
^^
pixies
i understand now
6th level is crazy for 3d12+spellcast mod
6th level spell slots for 3d12+spell casting is garbage
fireball is better 😛
Sure auto frightened is cool but it still eats up your con and bonus action per turn
woodland beings is good though! better than an upcasted moonbeam in most scenarios
the new conjure spells are kinda hit or miss
Im just sad to see what happened to my old favorite conjure spell
especially since frightened isnt that hard to use
What are some good 3rd level warlock spells? I've just gone up to level 5
Also I think disentegrate is a bit overrated
It’s not the overrated why do u think that
Its a single target suck or save pure damage spell
So if the target has good dex its almost worthless
And it doesnt even do half damage
True but if you know the spell then it’s easy
a 6th level spell for single target damage isnt the best
especially so when the spell only does damage if they fail
Yeah, it might not be the best but also the strategy too is if you know the player and what spells they use and stuff and they keep using it over and over again then you kinda know the pattern that they’re gonna use
Well, if you only get one spell, then you know exactly what spelt they’re gonna use each time but I’m saying the other spells that they have if they keep using them over and over again, and you know like the levels in the spells in the strategy that they’re gonna use each and every single game, then you start picking up on it and you know what they’re gonna choose
OK, well if they keep using that strategy and keep using that spell, then you know every single time why he’s gonna do
What
Globe of Invulnerability Sun beam
magic jar used to be better
Chain lightning
contingency is great
the globe is bad, wall of force better
Im listing off spells that are better investment then disentigrate
And your guises sense of mind which spell
oh lol
Out of all of the spells
mental prison?
I was just saying that big number does always mean its a good spell
also sun beam bad arguably worse than disintegrate
Disentagrate is decent but not godtier as everyone says
It can target mutiple people and still does half damage
i mass suggest everyone to poop their pants
depend on dm i guess, i get my monsters to spread out
the only issue with sunbeam is that its a con save
lol mass fowl is funny too, too bad it's not in 5e
Also sunbeam got upgraded too Until the spell ends, you can take a Magic action to create a new Line of radiance.
For the duration, a mote of brilliant radiance shines above you. It sheds Bright Light in a 30-foot radius and Dim Light for an additional 30 feet. This light is sunlight.
meaning you can keep doing it until the 10 rounds is over
i mean con and dex saves are really common
oh in 5.5e?
Con is the second worse save to target right behind stength
sunbeam always let you fire a new blast for teh duration tho
yea str con dex
Yeah I just checked
huh must have forgotten
soul cage has interest usages
If it fails try something else don’t give up to u can’t figure out anything else
like on a teammate
Soul cage shouldnt be used on a team mate since that stops them from being revived
Cast a lower level spell?
no but it's fun 😊
Wasting a 6th level spell slot isnt fun
i'm a very good teammate
Yes u can to throw them off there game but think before u do
disintegrate will forever be D tier for me
oh i meant trapping their soul and stuff
it was like this in 5e as well
wall of force is way better tbh
10d6+40 looks strong on paper but it really isnt
for soul cage what is the definition of see
like say arcane eye or familiar
or smt like that
9th level globe of inv
70 damage on average, instant kill at zero hp.
Disintegrate is not just an attack its a statement
Every enemy is healthy because they are eating their vegetables and adventurers
Pass the save nothing happens
Man cool beam
Pass the save and get massive dopamine hit for surviving
Jim Darkmagic making notes about new spell name
yeah, save or suck holds it back for sure
the fact that its 6th level is really what sells it for me
Granted I wouldnt know where else to put it
tbh 9th lv spells are kinda disappointing
only like 2 of them are
Foresight is still an amazing spell
fine, not as good as they should've been
this is valid. you get to take the derivative of a living being, whats not to love?
like yea there's still amazing ones
9th level Aid goes brrrre
9th lv spells, not upcasting a spell to the 9th lv
another spell that i think its way too over leveled is Skill Empowerment
Very bad spell Xanather
lol xanather is kinda cute, at least the one on the cover is
Your opinion on spell points ? 🎤
Okay guys as a master, do u think as my Sargent of end my fiance @unreal turret him and I talked about bring a new campaign person for a 30 days to see how they do what do we think about letting a new person in guys bc I'm not sure should I do a back round check on him
looks hugable
Would make more sense logically.
it's interesting but more balancing needed
hey ya'll this is my alt of my main account of angelsstrawberrygarden but I need to get back into my dnd severs
Yeah but only the full full casters would be able to use them
Aka warlock doesnt get to use spell points
Okay guys as a master, do u think as my Sargent of end my fiance @unreal turret him and I talked about bring a new campaign person for a 30 days to see how they do what do we think about letting a new person in guys bc I'm not sure should I do a back round check on him what do we think
bro don't ur gonna get perma banned
at least don't say it's an alt account for the very least
True, the specific limitation on number of spell slots is balancing and without it imagine spending all points for too much Shield.
Bc I'mma need a whole ass new caipin
Shield is a funny spell
Should be how one of the spellcasters works, Ideally Sorcerer to help further differentiate Sorcerers, Warlocks, and Wizards.
Fair enough. With how they work, it seems fair. Could be explained as since they are given the power, they can't pick and chose.
Since its really depentnant on how your dm plays if its good or bad
+5 to ac is cool but casting as a reaction afterwards... too bad some atks want saves instead of ac
Aka if your dm rolls to themself
lol
Your pretty much trying to guess if it beats your ac all the time
Yeah, I love Armor of Agathys. What's better than not being hit ? Being annoying to hit.
Rolls and numbers should be open, that's my personal philosophy
So you wasted a spell slot and you sitll get hit
Not all dms think that way tho
but like when i do this i get to turn down smt if it's too high, say i roll a crit and it's gonna kill someone, i can tune the damage down, but also vice versa
And I'll fight them on that one
Since they already have different kind of points, I could see that being a part of the gimmick.
part of playing in Urizts' game is forking over your phone number /j
lol
Visa too, I charge per session
Hero's Feast is an S tier spell Imo
Poison resistant and immuntity to charmed and fright is really good
Not enough people use it
Existence of Hero's Feast would suggest existence of Villain's Fasting
Oh yeah your hit point max also increases by 2d10 as well
lol u get more damage instead of hp
Extra Action: Bite
You are hungry and take bite off enemy
2d10 extra damage per hit for 24 hours sounds likea scary spell
Okay guys as a master, do u think as my Sargent of end my fiance @unreal turret him and I talked about bring a new campaign person for a 30 days to see how they do what do we think about letting a new person in guys bc I'm not sure should I do a back round check on him what do we think
It's like...a lot
lol my group of newbies asked if they can heal by eating someone
Haste ofc
that might be a bit much...
It is a legendary item
Allow it, but give them the sickness cannibals suffer from reducing their Wisdom if overused.
Does anyone know about any open d&d campaigns?
I asked this before but never say the response, is there a way to see if there is any info that Sebastion Crowe Guide to Drakkenheim will come to DDB? I'm not sure where I should look.
oh the meat was raw so they got sick instead, good idea tho, however they was not a least bit concerned
I really love the Apothicary class, but I REALLY wish i could make it on DDB
you dont say..
There is none
Okie
Hi hello
Where? I don't see it on the partner content roadmap
I sent u a friend request
are u sending everyone?
I sent u one
So we so we can do a vc chat
It only has a few spells from the book
Hi
I just did 54 damage with one punch :]
really are the king of goofy
Nice
Monk or Pugilist?
Red cape and bald head right?
My domain of dread is starting to shape up
its only done 45 damage with a bunch before
Niceeee
What’s it like?
It's very barovia coded.
Pugilist
Without the misogyny
Its larger than barovia and has a few sizeable castles for megacrawling
I want the villianions options right now
Castle Bloodstone, Castle Grimm, and Castle Bernstein. Mixed on whether to look forward or not look forward to mapping them lol
lol we all want to be mean
ragebaiting is fun
With my new mapmaker software ill be able to have awesome animated maps for them at least
I cant wait to be immortal by level 12
Rn im typing out the rest of the twelve towns and then im making the POIs
Starting with the starting area for the campaign in case my creativity kicks again
Well, he's a warforged, he doesn't have hair so bald, yes
Twelve whole towns, impressive
twelve towns💀
Well most of them are villages
warforged can have hair
its an icewind dale type situation where theyre called towns but more like villages
lol fr, which way are u going for, lickdom sound the most appealing to me
Yeah, by stealing it
Not typically made with hair.
I will steal your hair
Hair serves no mechanical purpose for a warforged, so typically, no, they wouldn't be created with it
Sounds like a horror villian
ay some of those Ten-Towns are basically cities
Theres a few normal towns and 1 city (Seylem, Grimm's Hollow, Blighton and Bloodstone)
ye true I only seen the small ones ingame so i forgot how big Bryn Shander is as well as a few others
Grimms hollow
great now the Hairforged is stuck in my head
Hair forged
Where one of the castles is
disgusting.
waterdeep sized cities?
I wonder where you got that name
more like Silverymoon sized city
I think I like the name Grimm and wanted a town with Hollow in it
Oh
I didnt realize till now lol
Thats funny
Castle Grimm is basically Castle Frankenstein in the anthology this domain is being built from so i decided to put a town around it
Is there a horrible girl called Mandy, and a particularly dull boy called Billy in Grimm's Hollow?
There will be now
Billy and mandy
When the adventures are Grim
The starting POI will be fun to bring to life
Gonna take ambience from one of the most horrifying horror maps in a game ive loved since i was a kid
Grim adventures of Billy and Mandy
And once again the mad Wizard Fairy rocks the boat hard, and twists part of the Prime Material into a Fey Dominion of a new Winter Archfey to counterbalance her own rise to power in the Prime Material.
loved that one
the hallowen special was funny
oh yeah, the meteor that eat brains and got dumber for eating billy brain
wish but dont, had session today in the morning
it was... pretty good in more than one sense
What do you mean
my poor fighter got... character development
it was all in self defense but still
the paladin is captured and he is going to need to explain everything to his companion artificer
In fact, it seems im the protagonist of the campaign...
Can one pop in the "looking for" chats to help explain certain things?
You'll probably have more luck just asking your questions outright and folks can answer as they're able!
every NPC in my DM’s campaign are sooooo hot, man; wdym i can’t roll a charisma check on the elderly buff knight who gave me water?!
Gang
You might need to find a life 🥹
damn 🥀 maybe I do…. 💔
lol one of my player tried to seduce an npc
and she rolled a nat 20
that happened in a homebrew i DMed, they ended up married with a kid who was stolen by a fae
I love the random funny rolls tbh
wahhh
and then it ended up being the whole main plotline of the campaign and everything, ending with the world abt to combust internally
i made it so that the city guards rushed in before she said anything because i was too embarrassed to describe what she said she want to so
crazy stuff bro 😭
That player of yours has a creative heart of gold and maybe a lack of filter, I love that for her <3
well it was a school dnd club so nothing too crazy can happen
SCHOOL TOO-
Reminds me of a time when someone tried DMing for me and a group.
They made an NPC that the group KOSed....
And a boss that our bard charmed into joining our party.
amazing way to redeem the villain, otome ‘em up
One of my players keeps insisting that it'll be "fine" if he can see into the future with his "special eye" 😭
Like, talking about literally seeing what the enemy next action will be.
Do you all think I should let him have this? I am personally very against it.
? I think you should maybe limit his foresight to random flashes or through vague meanings
Dnd true or false: The only Condition that stacks is Exhaustion
True.
mannn I am so excited for the warrior of venom UA
Should low-key let them be God. I'm sure it'll work out 🥹
I find future sight to be an amazing way to tell the story and open up plotlines but it can also ne too OP
they see themselves getting eaten by a pack of wild dogs oopsie
Foresight(the spell) is already broken enough
aka you can advantage on everything and everyone else has disadvantage on you
I don’t. Future sight is both powerful and kinda hard to do
do like a cleric can get cryptic hints from his god
well it is 9th lv
ooh that sounds cool
that’s such a good idea
Just make it limited foresight
lack of filter is one way to put it
Or a warlock from their patron.
yea exactly
I can’t judge because my comment two minutes ago is how I have to bite my tongue for dear life to not roll charisma for every npc I meet because my DM reads a03 romance fics
and it reflects in his description and character design
I wanna be a vampire
i'm pretty sure it's a actual race
And in comes the humble homebrew
I once had a homebrew where a character was a talking rat king
yall, I have a question- there is a dm who posted an interesting looking 5.5e campaign in the LFP channel, described as using only the 2024 players handbook. Would it be fair to DM them and ask what their thoughts would be on using a UA subclass (warrior of venom) before applying, or would it be better to just look elsewhere
Just a flash bang of a sentence.
I just reread that and you are right m
It decent
ty <3
I have not seen any Homebrew races in a campaign, however one campaign I played did set up a specific Inflict Wounds case for my character.
Nothing to lose by asking!
Nothing too big
What if they lose everything
I just love wuxia/martial arts novels, and the subclass has such cool flavour reminiscent of those
Dragon race
We should have everyone in this server join a VC and have one big dnd session.
Surely nothing could go wrong.
that shit would go for centuries 😂
A century of fun 🥹
our grandkids grandkids can keep the campaign going 🥲
5d later... welp we finish the our first combat encounter, beaten an ancient red dragon at lv1 😛
there's gonna be one wild magic sorc that spends half an hour per turn looking up their surges
What IS the biggest session you all have been a part of?
7 ppl I think (at once)
15 ppl in one session, I was trying to open a small dnd group in my school and was very nervous of making ppl upset so I couldn’t say no.
I don't think I've been in anything above 5 players.
relatively new to dnd so my campaign with friends rn there’s 6 of us total
15 people is crazy though, could've been 3-4 parties
wtf fifteen
um like 8ppl but only for one combat encounter, another group join on one of my players special invitation
15
above ten sounds like insanity imo
15 people sounds like 2 hours for one round 😬
unsurprisingly, it fell apart and I just asked my actual friends to join after and not just random friends of friends who were just there because
Do you guys think it'll be a good idea to let the players choose a feat at level 2?
yyyyyes
depends™
combat is hard with 15, and balancing in general
depends
if i'm ur player NO
well YES for me
maybe give them another origin feat if youre using 2024 or something
god I wish my DMs gave me a feat at level 2 (they probably shouldn't)
How does that work
it took my party nearly 2 month in total for their characters (we meets once a week cause it's a school club)
that wasn’t the hard part, the hard part was getting them to shut up for one second or to get off of TikTok or to log off minecraft
I am most likely running this online
The dm doesn't NEED to know you magically attained a feat at lvl 2 🥹
oh lol telling them to shut up was hard
If we did it IRL only, we'd finish after getting married and having children
mmm it's just a smaller list of feats that aren't generally as powerful/role defining as the rest (specifically suited for pre lvl 4 gameplay)
which ruleset are you using?
trying to use 5.5e
nice, nice
but once I narrowed it down to 6 ppl, it was the best homebrew of my life; until a few months ago when it was obvious they had no more interest in the story I was telling or the campaign so we ended it abruptly
but see I like having a set of restrictions so I can still optimize
Ohhh, the origin feats? Those do seem far less destructive so maybe
Oh, that sucks....
i like having minimal restriction except for the obv bans
then origin feats are basically "starter feats" that all characters start with (humans get 2!), and are generally less impactful than "general feats" and don't directly add to a character's state
oh nvm you seem to know what those are
the "human gets two" might convince my barbarian to become a human
i mean my party is a group of my friend in school and um i dunno if they understand the fact that usually they work together
I am not trying to have 3 elves.
I mean yea, but other races get their funny perks too so to each their own
they were just abt to face off against the final BBEG too but its fine now because now i’m in an elden ring campaign where I sadly have access to every NPCs facecard due to them being Elden ring chars and we got to meet Vyke, oh Vyke…
lol elves are nice in 5.5e, usually in 5e i like variant human, but depends
I mean, I don't mind it^^ but just kinda want some variety instead of "strong elf" "magical elf" "elf with a bow"
lmaoo yeah
One of them wanted to go with a dwarf then said
a soul like dnd game?
You can do that?
"dwarves are very ugly tho" man hasn't seen a proper handsome dwarf and it shows
it works like dnd minus some changed spells etc. and a few differences
how about very strong elf that's a support and carries the party
like different races
Now I want to spread awareness of the mighty Kenku.
Haha. . . .
Yeah, these three players and one of them as "support"
sometimes I want to play a grungly bitter old man and dwarves are great at that
short kings
i guess, it’s rlly fun so far so idm.
I'll have you know, I am running into three people with egos bigger than the length of the story, sadly
the party made Vyke their maiden, right? he's too hot not to
just have someone bring Human Fighter™
urghh I want to play a crotchety old poison geezer who speaks 50% in chinese idioms sooo bad
Honestly BG3 made me realize that dwarves aren't to be messed with lol, especially those in the under dark, they ROCK you
oh i thought it'd be like "oh u rolled a 3 on str check to open the door, take 10d6 of damage, halved hp maximum and disadvantage on all str, dex, and con throws for the next 1d6 month + some other stuff"
sorry what?
It took me playing a Dwarf Cleric to know they are not to be trifled.
It's just human nature to go "haha small" and not take them seriously
dwarf war clerics :D
me think fighter bad cause me optimizer
Order, actually.
no…. but I did succeed a singular charisma check on him and got a hug, which was good enough ig, but we were going to fight Radahn
but then you'll have a dwarf weight twice as much as you, charging at you at maximum speed.
My party was full of squishies who barely could heal or spellcast.
oh lol this sound fun
I start optimizing martials when I get bored
no its honestly so fun
we were in catholic school, it was the most I could get from him w/o breaking a catholic code
like spells are cool and all, but watch me physically tenderize a guy with all this damage dice
Sounds like my current party lmao, a ranger a wizard and a barbarian, don't ask them what happens when they all get low
Will be asking my DM if it could be like this from now on
pov when u see optimized martial characters that deals 150 damage on the first turn at lv8 and kills the final boss
My favorite thing about him was the very specific Inflict Wounds move he had.
"and any future door you open will explode, removing a piece of your armor"
the main issue is that spellcasters are good in literally every situation that isn't "kill that one guy", but man I love optimizing damage numbers on martials for "screw that one guy in particular"
There’s always sheer dumb luck to help u out, I once witnessed a lvl 1 sorceress chuck a beer bottle down the throat of a fae and she rolled a nat 20, that’s how a fae died and they got put on ‘fae and order’
oh and how a sorceress saved her child from the fey
:3
lol he suicide just to get ride of the debuffs because he's weaker than a lv1
My Pugilist beat the shit out of a lot of aberrations this session :>
or screw that group of guys
i have 3 hit points in that campaign rn w/ 1 armor ;-;
oh yea that's a class now, I forgot about that
exhaustion as a resource is wild
Vyke from Elden Ring is a very beautiful individual. Elden Ring is a game (series) that features "maiden" as a title of great importance. I did some extrapolating.
lol fr
Nope, its a third party class.
it's on dndb, close enough
My DM let me have a move called the "Slap Of God".
Basically: A Radiant Inflict Wounds done at the highest possible spell slot, that the dice will ONLY let me hit if my character was truly angry.
oh i see, only just started playing
Thats not how DnDb works.
sounds like power word yeet kinda stuff
Not everything On DNDB is official content.
at least at the tables I've been at generally the DMs are fine with pugilist, but I'm aware a lot of stuff on dndb isn't under wotc official
Oh, and it was done as a backhand with my shield.
when my friend showed me how Vyke looked w/o his helmet, I knew i’d never talk normal again or ||sit normal if I could roll the right number||
me when no UA on dndb😔
My pugilist did 54 damage in one punch today, it was nice :>
w h a t
the amount of times one of my friends petitioned to use tunnel fighter
pshhh yeah thats just silly
Yeap :>
It was a crit haymaker hit with an extra 3d4 damage from my doggo
which was maxxed to 12
tsk tsk only 54
/j
In a PUNCH smh
I flavored it as an "earth shattering" in strength punch and it made an eldritch being scry on me out of curiosity
hi
one punch builds are fun, I had a funny oneshot oneshot cleric/sorc that would pttg into an upcasted inflict wounds, after an upcasted absorb elements
it was wildly inefficient but man did it feel good
one punch man themed pugilist would be fun
how is D&D going this weekend
p good p good
I hope that my Warforged Pugilist fellow gets to fight the Lord of Blades.
I want CLANKER on CLANKER
VIOLENCE
one punch man reincarnated?
rockem sockem robots
One punch man if he had a dog and was a Mechanical being
there's always genos
His name is Sentry :>
His dog is named Vigilance
They were part of an Eberron Law enforcement branch called
"The Marshal Sentinels" Under House Denith
Sentry met Vigilance when he was chasing a crook and came across an injured dog
He's retired now and not really a part of them, but he has a strong stance against killing if he doesn't have to
However, he's killed...
Many Aberrations these last two sessions.
Mostly because they were another party members people who were transformed, suffering and couldn't be cured and the party member requested him to kill
this sounds like an exciting campaign
oh mannn
It is, that's just my character of course, the rest of the party members are a lot more interesting
The only thing abnormal about my character is him being a warforged I suppose? but its Eberron, the setting they come from lol
personally i wanna play a high stake, combat heavy, eldritch horror & epic fantasy kinda campaign,
We have
A Warforged Dog & Hound Pugilist
A Dwarf Battlesmith Artificer
A Human War Cleric
A Kalashtar PSi-Warrior
and
A Hobgoblin whom was Ruinbound Sprits Bard
what does it mean to be ruinbound?
Ruinbound are individuals infected by the smybiotic weapons/tools that the Daelkyr made (Eberron stuff)
ooh cool
Our current enemy is the Dreaming Dark
Which is like.. a Conspiracy Group that deal with the Quori
Quori being outsider interloper-esque beings who are attached to the dream realm
Light
Does it turn off if my character goes uncon?
No, as its not a concentration spell
nope
and this is all eberron worldbuilding?? I had no idea there was so much to it
mhm, I've never played it but it sounds cool fs
You should totally try to find a campaign or do research and run your own, its very interesting and fun
it is
Indeed
Daelkyr and Quori are just a small little morsel of Eberron worldbuilding
Man I’m sad that Song of Rest isn’t a Bard feature in 5.5e
It was such a fun vibe of an ability
anyone know an item to hold scrolls? i remember seeing an item that holds a buncha scrolls and only uses a bonus action to draw them
um i dunno if there is such item, ask in #dnd-rules
thanks
Scroll case in the Player’s Handbook I believe
Holds 5 sheets of parchment or 10 sheets of paper (which ever a scroll is)
Worth 1 GP
isn't a scroll case the case that covers the scroll? like a hard cover for a book
It’s a tube to protect them from the elements
Did they change it so in 5.5e warlocks automatically get the spells from their subclass list added to their prepared spells, in contrast to 5e in which they just get it added to the warlock spell list?
yes
Alrighty thx
yep, all of them. The thing is chosing which one use with your pact slot
It seems like a pretty big buff from 5e but im sure warlocks needed it
Guiding bolts and Cure wounds with the pact slots is giga powerful
and each upcasting is literally casting another cure wounds
they did
Almost done with the top floor of the dungeon my next campaign starts in
Dungeon Alchemist is such a nice software
How to actually start a campaign? I’m the DM and my dad is the player
Since you're doing a 1 on 1, you'll need to decide whether your dad is alone, has some npcs under his control like a CRPG or under yours helping him.
Also better move to #dm-discussion
i agree but sigh the price
do any of yall have opinions on the recent “warrior of venom” monk UA subclass :P
#1026901431132885064 is for that topic
Oop thanks
True, so far its paid its way for me
What makes a campaign premise interesting to you as a player?
I am always more than willing to pay a premium for premium software.
I have used dungeon alchemist maps exclusively for my last 200 sessions. More thank worth the price of admission.
Gonna run the first session of the Hellfire Club starter set for my 10yo nephew tomorrow
Hope he enjoys it
I just made my first dungeon floor with it and while it did take a few hours (I was taking breaks and yapping a lot) I wouldn't have been able to make it in DD
Now to do the finishing touches in foundry
Hi
hot take:i think frightening presence should be exclusive to chromatic dragons
metallic dragons already have their secondary breath attack for status effects AND shapeshifting, chromatic dragons dont get anything unique.
Good news! Check out the 2024 dragon statblocks.
metallic dragons are still terrifying though
wait brb
wait red dragons dont have frightening presence either
Correct, but all of them have some sort of spell thing. Only Black and White Dragons have Frightening Presence.
okay... why?
Only one major issue with dungeon alchemist
They personalized the spell effects for each dragon type.
why only them?
the ram needs
Why not? They made each dragon type more unique by giving them slightly different abilities.
i mean that is cool but why not both? Give all chromatic dragons frightful presence AND let them cast spells
