ehmm I've been working hard for this final exam but I'm kinda sad.
Everytime I do these tests and I come back happy but..I don't get good marks. My grades got lower and lower, from 80s to 50s and 40s. I started working harder, like.. a lot harder than ever. I had a row of exams in the first week.. continuous exams made me tired because I wasn't able to sleep properly. I had english p22, chem p42 and maths 42. Chem and maths exams were held on the same day. I actually almost fainted while I was doing maths test because of the lack of sleep (2 hrs) and I had an asthma attack plus rhinitis. I went to wash my face twice but..that only wasted my time. I couldn't finish the paper and hh... it made my parents really upset. They said "not knowing the questions are okay but health problems shouldn't affect your final test".
I have shown a lot of improvements this year and all of my teachers including my maths teacher saw the potential.. or thought that I could get an easy A.
I still feel..awful. really bad.

A bit late here but i feel you. I take Chem , Math and Bio. Everyday i wake up to the regret of choosing Chemistry and Math , then proceed to study them and have to go thru the exam stress of those subjects which i dislike a lot. I spent 1.5 year on improving my mental health and grades but i got terrible grades in November 2020 , and now im in middle of my retakes and its honestly going crappy again, it feels as if wahtever i do is pointless , bec im a very passioante person and i succeed a lot in things i love doing , i can never be forced to do anything , which is one of the many reasons im struggling with grades and exams , so if its any consolation know that ur not the only one going thru that exact same phase.

Guess what im trying to say is , life is terrible and ur all on ur own , so u always gotta prioritize ur health over anything else , bec no grade no money is gonna get u back that health its what u do that matters and with covid running rampant education is all over the place and its at an all time worse so i wouldnt worry too much about it but rather getting healthy and not like faint in middle of exams you know , life is short and there rlly is no gain from destroying urself just to get an A or whatever. If you really like Biology and that's what you wanna study later on, use that as your motivation

This depends so much on your scenario, my parents used to always yell at me to study, I ignored it as much as I could and got good grades in IGCSE, after that they just told me they trusted me, so if you could do that, not only is it really good for you in terms of grades and mental health/stress, it also feels really fucking good, like I did that and now you can’t tell me shit

You’re saying you can’t study, which perhaps needs other things to be taken into consideration, do you have long term goals you are doing this for? With no purpose, will can be difficult to find. So try to visualize what you want and how those grades can help you get there

Find a reason to get up everyday and try to love the process as much as you can, you’re studying anyways you might aswell try to enjoy it

For me personally the “enjoyment” came from feeling like i’m improving, finding difficult questions and being able to solve them, I loved the challenge

Perhaps try to look at studying from another perspective, rather than doing it just so you get it over and done with, try to really understand what you’re doing, try to actively find mistakes in your knowledge just to correct them, it’s like at a point you start liking how good you’re getting at it, and you get pissed if you find a flaw in your knowledge or logic, but you correct it and you go on

I know nothing about the MDCAT so j can't say anything about it but I've taken the SAT and it's really different from A Levels but it's also much easier

I completed my preparation for it in a month and got a really good score

I know people who did stuff like economics in one year but they didn't do so well because it's difficult to cram that kinda stuff into one year

I only did it that way because it was compulsory for further maths students in my school. But it sure felt good to get one A level out of the way
