Oh
Hey if anyone wants an insight on how to apply to uk unis pls dm me
IB exams got cancelled in india. Are CIE exams going to get cancelled as well?
only time will tell
Yeah but it starts in a week
all other exam boards cancelled their exams
Even CBSE is cancelled
seems like Maj June for CIE is cancelled
my school just sent a message saying if kids want to resit for Oct/Nov or continue with teacher assessment grades
Oh
so its confirmed then
My school didnt send anything
I have my IT exam in exactly one week dude and they're cancelling now
Rip
Are you from india?
Where you from?
Yes he is
Ah
Yeah
I can only speak about my school
Wait until your school says something
Yeah
But yeah I mean if it's cancelled in one part of India then
Yeah maybe
It is likely cancelled everywhere
Yeah probably
Yeah i'll only stop studying if my school confirms
I hope its lenient this time unlike last year
THey downgraded me last year but inflated people who did worse than me

Literally people who used to get Bs and Cs suddenly got all A*s
Lol
I hope my grades get inflated this time lol
They probably will
Yeah
This also means thay
F/m thersholds damn low

Yeah Chem sucks
Cause all the organic AS plus new A level organic comes
Math A level is a joke
Ah yeah
Yeah lol
How about physics?
Literally
is it harder than AS?
Ah
Most probably
Based on the backlash of last year it'll be teacher assessment
Yeah
Yeah thats good
A level IT seems nice but I dont know if universities accept it as of what I know some universities like imperial dont accept IT
so I might drop it then
Oh I see
It doesnt seem fair tho to use predicteds since most of the school year has been online
But those that didn't study for shit are basically getting a free pass
For me personally I like to give the exams cause it feels like your hard work finally pays off at the end
Yeah
Well this year Im not that confident for exams
since it was online
Ye
But I would still do them over predicted grades
True
I have my exams from next week lol I wont be surprised if we get informed of the cancellation like one day before the exam
yeah lul
If you already got a mail then I might get it tonight or tomorrow
Wasnt a mail
More like an informal whatsaap message
Im done with my A levels
It's cancelled for the few retakes that my school had
The school sent it on the class group
Yeah
Its officially cancelled I got a email from my school
Nice
Let me guess u ve applied to the US?
no
Not nice lol I did bad on my mocks
Oh where did u apply to then
canada
Oh cool
@slow widget do u have a confirmed seat?
U said uve done ur a levels how much did u get if u don't mind me asking
its conditional
i gave my A levels in fm 2021
im waiting for my results
they come out in may
Oh me too
Yeah
nice
What were the Conditions
i have to get similar to my predicted grades
predicted grades were 2-3 A*'s
Oh ryt
Bs
Oh lol
i am also going to get predicted grades
ok
anybody here got advice for getting good grades on IGCSEs?
Study
@swift granite help me
yes honey
I want to become pablo escobar
watch narcos
Make good daily plan, follow the plan. Ez A*s
are you interested in human trafficking? if then yes
I'm going under ground

Weird
They are joking tho
Hlo guys..
If I get a B in chem instead of my predicted A do y'all think my conditional offer to uni will be rescinded?
In canada offers arent that strict I think so if your grades are close to your offer you should get in
what did your offer state? It depends on that I think
what does come close to mean
like is a B okay?
Yeah come close means that if you get a B it shouldnt be a problem
if you meet the rest of your offer
And I got saved lol my school is conducting mocks again
but then it becomes a case by case thing
coz everyone failed the first mocks
not impossible, but makes life harder
and they'll send these exams to cambridge
Which university is this?
mcgill
ye they would probably ask why it has decreased
then what to say
Oh my cousin goes there did you apply for engineering?
Oh okay
Hey, I would like to know what's the actual purpose of igcse? Is it for entering university or applying for A levels / foundation. As I have been confused as I am advised to try to do my best to enter a prestigious university / or be able to enter the field of my desire (computer science). However, I have to enter A levels or foundation first before being able to study the course I have chosen for myself. Now, I'm am in a delema about whether my igcses (o level) is just like a grade i have to enter to be able to enter to the next garde such as you are unable to enter grade 11 without finishing grade 10 or etc. Any help would be appreciated
wait we dont have to take it serious?
i have my test next 2 weeks am im stressing out
any tips?
hopefully
heheh
is anyone from Australia? like is there any recommendations for uni
If someone messed up his igsce however, did really good for his A levels. Is he going to be able to enter a course such as engineering or doctor?
I see
So I have to refer to the university I'm applying to?
Alright, your help is appreciated
Look at the specific dept yes
What I recommend you to do is searching the university ranks according to your country/area. It should provide you with a list then if you are playing to go overseas, check if the university is recognised in the the country you desire to go to
They usually don't but there are unis to which you can apply w OL grades + predicted AS
I see
Depends on the offer
Would you recommend the person to study in his own country and then join exchange students for experience on other country, or study in overseas.
Thats kinda upto u
Its depends on your decision. Some people don't want to live in their country
So they could easily study somewhere else
Some don't want to stay in their country and unfortunately their passport is weak, therefore they need to try getting a new passport or a resident visa in a different country.
I think 95 percent of offers are like that
Conditional and if you don't perform in a levels then bye bye
I don't want to make any general statements, but it really depends on the department always, that's all ik
ok
Most UK universities look at your IGCSE grades.
Yeah but they care more about A level grades right?
Yeah they do.
However, if you've barely passed your IGCSEs and now you get A*s because of predicted grades
Just do well in all your exams and you should be fine.
Yeah
^
Hey man... Ur igcses r really important ppl fail to notice this but they play a major role whole applying to UK unis... I've applied to UK and the ones I've applied to ask for most of ur igcses to be A s or A* s especially if ur applying for prestigious unis... I've applied to Warwick and they even have a specific requirement to have at least one social science and one humanities subject for ur igcses... And especially if ur applying to finance related courses they would like u to have igcse math at an A*... So i suggest u really work hars for those igcse grades especially for comp Sci as one of the top unis in the world-imperial college-have very very strict conditions as ppl from all over the world apply and they have very limited seats... So if ur new to igcse i suggest u take time in choosing ur igcses well u dont wanna be doing subjects that add no value and would be a extra burden and u can dedicate that time in doing ecs or supercurricular activities or choose better igcses that would build up ur profile
Yeah u will enter provided u have decent igcse scores... I've seen ppl getting rejected for finance related courses if they haven't met the minimum requirements for igcse maths
That's true you have to meet basic ig requirements
Understood
What is the basic IG requirements?
Probably at least in A in all the pre req courses
Depends from uni to uni
Does anyone know anything or links for applying to German unis and language courses at the same time ( i know its not possible to have both at same time) but i mean like having a conditional offer that upon completion of language course you get to start studying the program

Guten luck
Danke schön
While english would be accessible its a better idea to learn in German and the program in German since am planning to stay and work there too
Private unis arent that good either so i wouldnt recommend
Is financial analyst a good job
More importantly, do you like wall street or not
Ofc it is😂any job is good, but i suggest u ask that question to urself, u would get a much better answer... If u wanna ask something like what's the difference between financial analyst and strategic manager then ig posting it in a grp would yield better answers but questions like these shud be answered by ur interests and what u wanna pursue in the future
Plus idek if anyone here is qualified enough to give a proper answer to just "is financial analyst a good job"
Ik that most canadian unis prefer IB even though they don't outright say it
Most scholarship students are from IB
But not sure about the workload it's seems more than cie
Yea that's what I was worried about
Apparently, the work load is excess
Like you'll have to fully devote yourself to IB
My friend did IGCSE and then went in to IB for 11 and 12
He did fine
But it really varies from person to person
I see... I'd like to hear from more people as well
A levels are fine as well right ?
Yes
A levels are great
Alright, thank you
and.. how to do that?
means like.. how do i check the req. im not very informed about it..
I kinda am reminded of this whenever peeps ask if "x" job is good or not
Make sure your job intersects/is your ikigai
Hey, I don't know if this is the right channel to post this post, but my teachers told me what I wanted to do in university but I really don't know and I really don’t have interest on no subject .
What can you suggest for me please.
( @ me pls)
I don't think they would be able to ans this question cause they have to interest in any subject atm
Perhaps a question would be
What hobbies do you enjoy
Doest have to be study related
No interest in any academic subject...
Then hobbies would be the second thing to consider right
ie music
I mean who knows
Music can be considered a hobby and can be done for a career
you dont have interst in studies... WRS has no interest in any subject in school
Yes yea ofc
True
Maths?
Thought you loved maths
Aight
lol
ye WRS said "I really don’t have interest on no subject" which is school related hence I said hobbies
^^^
yup
lemme ping them @slow widget
Sorry I was sleeping 😂
Thank you for you’re answer my only hobby is gaming am always playing and I don't think I can have a career on that.
I have no interest in school I’m just going cause my parents want me to go to school.
I know this answer doesn’t help you,sorry.
then focus on your strengths
bahaha
Why isnt he fired yet?
Well i hope ur outa there @slow widget
Our career counselor is also pretty bad
like hes nice but he doesnt give any guidance
yoooooooo wtfff
if my teacher asked me what porn i watch, the whole class would start laughing
well..
what did you answer with..
did you just walk away
😂
idk
Disgustang-
bruh
reminds me of the time when
our 5th grade PE teacher was convicted of being a child molester
Hey im back ,
What can I do with Biology , Business and physics ?
Pharmaceutical companies are more likely to hire someone with a bio + business degree in the management side
if you are interested in Canada, UWaterloo has a programs that combines Biology + Business
Thanks !
np
this is a very good option tbh but idk if you are interested to go to Canada
Canada is cheaper than the USA btw
I wanted to go there for a long time xD
oh lol nice
you can do co-op there as well
so while it can't completely pay for your tuition, it can definitely help
oooh
that's interesting
alternatively, if you like biology + physics, you can try Biomedical Engineering
I'd say you need maths for that though
Does anyone here study psychology and if yes then how difficult it is compared to bio, chem and phy
to be honest you can't exactly compare subjects to eachother - all of them have their pros and cons. some are more math based, some more theory. i suggest looking through reddit and quora and reading about people's experiences in studying each subject
Guys, If I go on to study mathematics and like get a degree in mathematics. What would be my career options?
Hi guys, does anyone of you use anki (ankiweb) for flashcards looking for someone who could share the link with me for O-levels IGCSE for all 3 sciences (bio, Chem and Physics) lmk if u use it and are willing to share it with me.
Yea I use it
But not for IGCSE
I don't think many people use it for IGCSE
@slow widget can answer
Oh okay no worries
@slow widget Hi!!
Applied sounds better...does it pay well? 😅
What?
You’re doing maths at uni?
This is late,, but i am!!!
Late for me too but I am
anyone doing artificial intelligence or robotics?
Perhaps
hi looking to apply to unis in december, but quite stuck on a couple of courses. wanted to know more about this from people who might have done or are currently doing these courses. They revolve around Economics at LSE and UCL.
Will you study at mauritius or abroad?
abroad most likely
MaY i AsK wHERe
No you may not
:(
Is anyone currently doing or has completed the ACCA course?

C'est utile
I'm fked
yoooo
i got a question
anyone know the difference between mechatronics and robotics?
cuz i saw the description for both
and they literally seem like the same subject
h e l p
please
from what I know, robotics isn't a degree available in university
oh?
you get a mechatronics engineering degree, but you cant get a robotics degree
so mechatronics = robotics but you get a mechatronics degree, which is basically robotics
uhhh
i applied for a degree called 'mechatronics and robotics engineering' so they're not much different
except if it's mechatronics alone, maybe it has more of an emphasis on the mechanical engineering aspect
hmmmmm
wait then what does mechatronics and robotics engineering specialise more in?
computer science?
do you want a link to the course description?
i'd say so
heyy! i need help with Alevel computer science and ICT, syllabus looks so simple but i know its not that easy. Can anyone help me out with the difference between computer science and ICT?
and pls tag me 🙂
btw im doing IGCSE ICT and even i had Computer science but my school drop cs, i dont know y but cs was dam easy
@manic sapphire
ICT is more focused on Excel, Access, Normalisation of Databases and a little bit of JavaScript web programming
Personally I think it's outdated and useless
Computer Science on the other hand goes in-depth into computer hardware, you have topics like binary and hexadecimal, logic circuits communication technologies, processer and assembly fundamentals and security
You also have in depth programming topics taught in - Python, VB.net and Pascal
True I take IT and it is useless
Yeah
Can you guys help me find stuff that I can do online such as courses or anything that I can add to my application to university? I’ll be applying for medicine so I think courses relating to medicine would be very nice
I just need to acquire a lot of certificates and documents to prove that I have been doing a lot and have been seeking medicine truly
I would greatly appreciate it if you guys helped me with that 🙂
Coursera? EdX?
Udemy
U could try on offline internships or something that really gives u an edge over other applicants especially for medicine but if u can't do that cos of covid them I suggest online platforms like skillshare and linkedin learning
Thank you so much. I greatly appreciate it :))
wait Java Script?? syllabus is so same in my point of view
yeah even i was thinking of taking cs, just because of programming. But in syllabus, i didnt see any topic related to programming language. mean teaching programming language.
Nah the syllabus is completely different
Only topic in common is databases
CS has a lot of programming especially in A2
i have internship certificate and letter of recommendation, will they help me in university?
hmm
interesting, thank u for amazing info mate
im not gonna be applying for medicine specifically, but ill apply for something related to biology only. ill be applying to the US and UK. how necessary is it for me to give the BMAT? because i know some UK unis dont accept students for biomedical sciences unless they've given the bmat. (and one of the courses im interested in is biomedical sciences)
anyone thinking of aerospace engineering?
no problem
Guys I REALLY need advice, I'm from a lower middle class background in Pakistan, have 2 As and 7 Bs in my O levels, got a 1360 in my sat but got 3 Ds in my AS subjects which I gave privately(dropped out of college); Phys, CS and Math cus I didn't study well due to personal issues and I've wasted almost 2 years(19 now) also cus of corona and my exams got postponed to Oct/Nov.
I have next to no extra curriculars to my name, had good to decent grades throughout school and have a clean record if that matters.
I want to pursue something CS related, my parents want me to do something similar to a foundation year or program abroad, I have relatives in Canada who want me to come study there and they can provide me with a place to stay and some help if need be but I have absolutely no idea how I should go about this as I have no knowledge about unis
If someone could provide me with some insight or guide me in the right direction I'll be super greatful cus I'm totally lost🙏🏼
I guess @slow widget has applied to Canadian unis and can help you... @maiden pivot
Hey man I assume you wanna go to university near where your parents live. Could I ask where they live?
In which city
Cause based on what you have written, you probably want to apply to a uni close by to their home
No no, my parents are here in pakistan
I know theyre in ontario
Are they close to Toronto?
Yes
Ok so there are tons of good universities in and around toronto
But if you wanna live in your relatives house you would have to commute a bit
So for CS, obviously there's university of toronto, then there are some others like Ryerson, York, Trent
As for extracurriculars you don't really need any
How's this?
If it's near their place it's ok commutings fine
i think you would want a degree then go for a 4 year course
that would be what companies are looking for
this one's two years
alright then you can look at ryerson univeristy
its a commuting university, so almost everyone who goes there commutes
you may find a lot of people like yourself there
Is a diploma really worth that less than a degree? Or could I get by with it
Huh, any other options?
wdym
Uni wise
Something affordable? Like maybe 15k per semester
are you an int student?
Yeah
Like I know my parents can help initially then I'd have to get a loan and a part time job
But nvm that if you've got any other options as well pls share
yeah give me a sec
so the main ones in toronto are:
York U
U of T
Ryerson U
Trent
they are all great U of T being the best
the only think that could affect your chances of admission are your AS marks
you said you got 3 D's?
Yeah
and in your A levels?
Just AS and I was giving a retake this may till it got cancelled
Like the full A level or just as?
full A levels
What about ielts and toefel and all that
AS + A levels
did you take english in AS?
No
Hmm... so I have no option but to give a levels?
and unfortunately 15K is too less your are looking at more like 45K per year
from what I know yes...but
you can email them, for example, email UofT, explaining your situation
I can give you their email if you would like
and confirm it from them ones, but i think you need to do A levels
But, there are bursaries that you can get
its like a scholarship but its financial need-based rather than merit based
See, the program I sent u above, a friend of mine sent that to me to look into because she also did something similar and was able to get a job which is why I was leaning towards that..
I see
well you can get a job, but it would be much harder to find one
like much harder imo
if you want to contact uoft regarding your A levels
use this
Alright I'll look into it, thanks a bunch
Hey @maiden pivot some universities only look at AS grades but you need 4 subjects I believe
Hmm
oh really?
i didnt know that
which?
Why do they only require AS levels though?
i didnt know they even accepted only AS levels
ye i just found out today after you sent the link
heyy! quick question regarding uni. Im willing to take cs in uni. Requirements require maths as well. Is it really compulsory to take maths at A-level?
and pls consider tag 🙂
yes
it is
A-level maths?
yea
yea there no other way
alright ill go with maths now, Thx really appreciate it @slow widget
yea i was check uni requirements almost every subject needs maths
yeah
i was going with Phy, cs and eco Alevel
Do math instead of eco
but i think i need to change a bit now
if you are fine with 4 then you can keep eco and add maths
yea
Yeah you can do that as well
nah mate that would be hard
3 is enough though and eco is sort of unnecessary for CS
Nah 4 is doable I do math physics chem eco
same
but i still took it
thats hard
and i think i did pretty well in my fm exams
if you think eco's gonna be useless then drop it yeah
Not that hard actually first make sure that you're good with math
then focus on other subjects
i dont think so its useless for me
ye then drop it
yeah then drop
CS + phy + Maths should be good
but
make sure 3 is okay for your uni
some require 4
just verify
combination is sick tho
just make sure tho i would say once
Will you be doing english?
yea 3
At AS level?
nop
yep
Yeah you need IELTS then
what about Art and design and media studies?
Nah its a waste of time
cuz my school requirements is 4 subjects
nop its block wise
i think its optional need to check one more time
Oh okay
maths
Ah
Phy and acc
why tf is eco and maths in a block lool
A&D and media study
Oh
nop its 3 sub btw
oh
yea no idea
yep, but its fine for other ppl tho
literally no idea
ill check again if any doubt ill come back, although some schools are giving sick sub but rn need to decide sub, then school for alevel, massive thx
kk np
I took biology chemistry psychology and global perspectives for next year as levels
Will unis except me
i believe for medical u require physics or maths along with chem and bio@patent plank
Psychology maybe
Oh ok
depends on the university
Yea
hi y'all could you give me some advice?
a bit about me, i'm 16 this year. i'm homeschooled and i also take my country's national curriculum.
i'm taking 3 IGCSEs this november. i should have done those 3 IGCSEs last year, but due to some health problems i'll only be able to do them this November.
should i aim to take at least 5 IGCSEs (i'd be taking 2 more next year), or should i just focus on my A-Levels? i'll be 17 next year. i know the IGCSEs were made for 14-16 yo, but Cambridge doesn't really have an age limit so i guess it'd be fine...
i don't know where to ask this so i'm asking it here kjsaksjakjsa
Hey, depending on your university that you plan to attend or apply to see if they have a IGCSE subject requirement. If they are ok with only 3subjects, then you can move on to your AS levels/A Levels imo
the thing is i still have no idea where i want to go for uni 💀 but would having 5 IGCSE subjects be safer?
Ik it's still very early but do you have a country in mind?
Where you would wanna go
Perhaps
yeah that's what i was thinking
Maybe @coral cedar can suggest something
and should i take 5 or 6 lol 💀
i know that's probably nothing compared to y'all who have to take a minimum of 8 subjects 💀 but i'm learning 2 curriculums at the same time with bad brain capacity ksjdskjdks
my friends only took 1 IGCSE subject and it was their own language... idk why they did that HAHA
Ahh lol
I think you would probably be safer with 5-6 subjects but
You can wait for a bit if someone else suggests something else
Rithwik op
In general I think if you have at least 5 IGCSE subjects it's good enough
@burnt mantle
Maybe just do two other random subjects
easy ones ofc
What iGCSE subjects are you doing now?
i'm currently doing ESL, maths & sociology
i was thinking of economics & biology but they're kinda hard kajsksjskshs
and some other subject
Don't do bio if you aren't interested in it
Do economics if you can
my parents won't let me 🤣
i'm honestly not great at sciences, i'm also a social sciences major in my national curriculum
EVM is better than geo
unless you like learning a million case studies
How about psychology?
DO they even have psychology for IG?
CAIE doesn't, Edexcel does
Why can't you just use your national curriculum? Is it that bad?
Most unis will have alternative options for most boards
So you should be able to get away fine with your national curriculum itself
Or if you're set on doing IGs then repeat the same subjects it'll be less intensive
i'm from Indonesia... it's not that bad, some universities i'm looking at do accept it but i wanna have a wider option hehe
anyways sorry for the late replies, tysm y'all i really appreciate it!!!
It's worth checking with a uni or two but imo it should be fine, most unis have a loooong list of alternative boards
for caie, it's only offered in a levels :/
I mean psych is a uni thing
Its like the same as cs where id assume taking it in ALs is jus complimentary
yeah but my friends have said that the syllabus for a level psych makes it seem so boring when it really isnt. idk
are you planning to take it in uni?
Hmm yeah
Go data analysis
Lol
Its me messing around and saying website making pays way too well
Are you doing it in your home country or abroad?
For uni I mean
Plans fpr abroad
oh cool
Are you allowed to use devices in class in alevel to take notes? like an ipad
Ig that depends on the schools policy
for most colleges yes
Alright here
heyo
So as an international student with esl
I need to take 4 as levels
1 of them needs to be english?
And not lit it needs to be langauge?
Thats what I am gettig?
getting**
yeah
and if you don't take english in AS you need to give the IELTS or similar
but if you had taken english as first language in igcse then you wouldnt need to do anything
Yea sadly they dont provide it in my school
I actually tried, but turns out that they didn't even allow me to get the paper and self study
But ig I'll manage
Thanks man
Okok
I think
I will
.-.
oooh
so you should be good
YAY!
if you dont take english in AS
:)
dont take it then lmao hehe
its a pain in the ass ngl
Fr?
more than phy?
yepp english language is the doom of most people lmao
Cause eventhough I am good at physics ig, idk what type of hard is it, to be given the formula sheet and still call it hard-
see for physics
if you solve enough past papers
you will definitely get an A
it may seem daunting
but its really not
Oh okay wow
I heard alot of people say how "nearly impossible" it is
You're first one who actually said smthn good about it
I will take a good look at it in the summer though
ye definitely not "nearly impossible" for anyone
yess
Okayy
I really can't thank you enough
This has been alot of help
Thank you so much
just don't feel like stressed out about it
I'll try my best :'D
yee
gl :)
@outer knoll one last thing
some universities require IELTS no matter what
like university of western ontario
i found that out the hard way rip
so i would suggest just take the ielts its not too bad
Oh actually I am taking it either way
But on year 13
Because yk it expires after 2 years
Thanks :D
yall ik this is career advice
but if someone were to study med
specifically dentistry
do they need all 4 subjects
like math chem bio phys
or do they not need physics?
bc ive seen it vary from place to place but idk
equivalencies also weigh in
so like
whats the sitch
ive never really seen unis in the west ask for more than 3 subs
in the east it depends on the how the local system runs usually, and you'll have to match up to that
but all my friends doing med (thats like 8 ppl some in east and some in west) did bio chem math
afaik you can choose either math or phys, but none of them liked phys so that was that
it’s mostly bio, chem and either physics or math
no uni I’ve seen asked for both physics and math
some didn’t even require it at A level, just bio and chem
yeah^
and not sure about everywhere else but as for pak my friends that got into med unis had the three sciences only
For India you have a centralized entrance exam which requires you to know math, phys, chem and bio
Like Mushu in the west it's just 3 subjects and the only real pre-req is maths
And obviously bio and chem
But those aren't pre-req's
aight cheers cuties thanks so much
Do they cover those in year 1?
they cover bio and chem in med school yes-
Ahh nice
it is a thing to study the field your degree is about
But like in the west it's not directly into med school right
in the US its not
So technically I can become a doctor?
in some countries yes
Yeah same with Canada
one of my friends didnt take bio a level and he's doing med in poland
in the UK you go directly into med school
he was set on doing engineering
Why
why?
It’s strongly recommended
no you only need phy chem and bio for med in india
No you need math
To give the NEET you need math English phy chem and bio
This is eligibility
I meant in terms of writing and passing the exam
Pls send the link where you saw this
@warped abyss
I tried registering they told me I needed english + maths plus the 3 sciences
I didn't have English so I wasn't eligible
Bruhhh
I mean that's what it says there too
Yeah I meant they told me I needed maths specifically too but that wasn't a problem for me cause I had it
But now here it doesn't say it
Which I found weird
you don't need math for neet. My friend applied for NEET with english and 3 sciences
Oh okay I thought you were talking about the English
Lol wtf
Oh maybe then
Idk I remember them telling me i needed maths
Might have misunderstood then
Or misheard*
Same
Yew
Does anyone know if you need percentage uniform marks to apply for neet
just pass
i think
its 50% for HSC so ig it must be similar for cie
so just pass basically
for cie just pass is a E
So if i dont get ungraded in any of the subjects does that meet the basic requirements
yeh
Check #ig-physics
Hi
is it a good idea to apply to both US and UK unis?
you should apply to whichever unis you find interesting
Hey i think i need some people's thoughts on me. Sorry for the long message
I really like math but not science. I kinda like physics because it contains some math elements
My family is expecting me to major in CS and i enjoy editing videos photos, and messing with stuff on the Internet and my laptop.
But something inside me says i should try for finance, marketing n stuff. Though i enjoy debates and MUNs, i kinda suck at organising events and planning
Maybe i should major in marketing and have CS as my secondary skill. Never felt this lost in my life so far
How abt math? You can go into finance and CS with a math degree
Sounds good. So is math degree alone enough for going into both cs and finance?
Fintech is a thing
You can do math with CS
Or math with finance
I know people doing both
Depending on what you prefer more you can then use your optional nodules to learn the other
Math with finance will be fully under the math dept, math with CS will be a joint degree
Joint degree is a double degree right?
I was thinking about taking marketing and cs on a double degree program
Okay. Thanks for the useful advices guys. I'll try to use this summer to make my decision
Before i go, a last question. Are there any jobs that require both marketing and CS skills? Seems like data analysis does
hey there, so I'm planning on applying to the US this year with A level scores. Does anyone know of any competitions or remote internship opportunities? I'm planning on majoring in bio for pre med
Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks :)
Im p sure US asks for SATS?
Data science does yeah
Data science is like a culmination of math(stats mainly), CS and business domain knowledge
heyy!! im not sure am i suppose to ask my question here or the #university-choices🎓 but ill leave it here rn, Anyone studying at Oxford University?? i need to discuss about some course subjects and the opportunities. And pls tag me 🙂

@trim forum same here
i need some help, i am very very unsure of what i need to pick for a career in penetration testing (a branch of cyber security) , i have a big hobby of penetration testing, and i just got done with my O levels, now that i am entering A levels, i have absolutely no idea on what subjects are either required or best suited to have for what i intend to pursue
if its cyber security you'll have to probs do a general CS degree first
so CS maths phys is the general set of a levels
ohh plss
Sent
Cyber sec is a specialized so as mushu said youll have to go for a CS bachelor first and then if u deem it necessary u can go ahead for masters in cyber sec
ahh alright, so i have come up with this decision then my subjects for A levels, maths, puremaths, physics, chemisty and IT
do you think that will be alright?
alright for sure ill be going for CS then choose to specialize else where
Does ur school not offer cs
As a subject
Its not necessary per se tbh
Cuz most of this syllabus can be learnt in 2 months
sadly it doesnt, tho the ICT syllabus kinda concurs
since i have the pation i can learn that aside
It shouldnt do u badly
math and pure math?
uhm, yeah
also you dont really need chem
I think he made the same mistake i did
ahh okay
yes tho i want to leave engineering open as a backup
Ah
fair enough thats up to you
you dont need to do IT then?
Hes doin it complimentary i believe
if i dont need it ill drop it
honestly i dont think anyone asks for IT
Guys who takes As business (edexcel)
indeed
get the role from #roles and head over to the relevant channels
It can differ so be wary
okay yeah makes sense
however i am also not sure about one more thing
and actually if i am able to finalize this it can help me clear my subject better
what country should i opt for to do CS
grades
Iirc tho
and depends where you are based as well
yeah very true, but which one is more suited, like most prefered?
indian living in kenya
bruh if you could get in + afford it idt anyone would bother arguing
Exactly lmao
how okay would your parents be with you moving far away is sth you'll have to consider
*how far away can you go
Yea u need to talk to ur parents too
i dont think they will move with me, i will be on my own
Since theyll be paying tuition at the end of the day
and they will be ayt
