For the Communication issue, as a Player I can relate to everyone who writes in here …
On the other Hand I dont think , that simpauly doesnt want to Share anything about ongoing processes. If he just cant talk about things, happening behind closed doors ,we have to accept it.
But for the players sake , we need to get proper information faster and much clearer… and I personally dont think that discord is a platform that can handle this. There is the need ingame to evolve for this kind of informations , and not by opening discord to admit things or a webpage with a support system…

Just promote a list with all the things currently worked on with a timeline at what timeframe the developers think they get issues solved properly. Of course you need time for certain things but as always taking through things behind closed doors is not beneficial at all towards the players base….
I think of last roadmap from 24 when there was the theme : Quality before quantity, but that never happened….

The series of sms mats spend events will change if you change ops. So if you're ops60 for the 1st one and then hit ops61 before starting the 2nd, then the 2nd one will start as a G6 sms.

I wrote the names down to easier find them in Mission List. I have no mission called Eminence. Do I have to complete Third Party and then get Eminence or is this a Mission naming error?

You won’t get much help from defensive officers. It’s the hyper hit that’s killing you. You need to finish the target off in as few rounds as possible.

Id go for criticals with hull breach and max iso damage. If neelix and Kim are decent they can also help a lot from LD.

For that event series, a lot of reports last time from players who were "sniped" at the end by players grade shifting up from easier brackets and taking their points with them. I think I would use the same method to exploit the meta if I were in the same position. Maybe winning the last mat spend event would be the weakest entry point. It's going to depend a lot on what you have for all of the events saved up.

Err hold on… so if I shift up right after start of mats recruit, I’d be given the meta for G6 also and my points from the g5 would be carried over to it ?? Maybe I’m confusing it..
But I would definitely have the g6 mats recruit SLB if I took 61 before the event start?
That’s the one I’m most worried about tbh because although I’ll be going to 64 and have three selkies to build, I’m not sure that lot would make a dent in a g6 ladder.. and that one scores the most, so if I can avoid it I wouldn’t go g6 until that last event starts…
I’m pretty sure I can take most of the events before it, have probably most upside on artefacts as have a huge pile to send, and if I take g6 and gallery 61 that releases even more.

If the meta SLB was visible, then completion of yesterday's event scored toward it. From what the reports sounded like, the grade shifters had scores on the G5 & 6 ones. And the players who were sniped had no idea they had competition from below because they couldn't see the players and their individual event scoring down there.

There's an expression. Do the right thing because it's the right thing to do. The right thing to do is to scrap the ALB and start it tomorrow. If an alliance had people on early and they're not available later, how's the alliance going to compete? Personally, I'm going to go and grind but there are other people that can't do that and that's not fair. It's not ethical. It's not honest, it's not right. All the compensation chests in the world don't make up for that.

Whoever is coming up with this stuff needs to take the time to seriously rethink the way they score and reward the events.
The rewards for many events are derisory, “a slap in the face” is a phrase I saw a few times yesterday.. I can’t remember what event (think it paid g6 players 4* mats 🤣), and completely disproportionate to the time needed to complete them (for sms) or to compete ( SLB/ALB).
Added to the announcement that you won’t spend the day needed to sit around and set a value for g5 ships to scrap and enable it… this YEAR… it’s painting a really ugly picture for the future and to be honest I’m just getting turned off this game. I’m doing my basic dailies and minimum survice to complete stuff, but I just don’t want to put up with this anymore.
I’m much more likely to archive this account at this point than go g6.
There are better things to do out there, and it seems the devs are doing everything they can to push ppl away..

What is up with the event buckets? They were decently organized yesterday. Now they’re all spread out again? What are y’all doing? Based on our inventories, we know that no one at Scopely has ANY organizational sense. But this just a handful of events. Having all the (Heroic) events in a single bucket was a good arrangement. Most of us don’t need to see them bc we aren’t going to do them. So maybe put them back that way, then leave them alone?

The new building is practically useless for this event since it gives you stuff, but practically nothing related to the new Hostiles, and it's also not very useful for research, because you have to be a very high level for it to be of any use. You can only do four research projects and a maximum of level 1. After that, you need to have the building at level 36 or higher. This is the worst event Scopely has ever done, not to mention that it's the most blocked event they've done to date.💩 🤮

It’s feels like scopely are throwing new ideas at a wall and seeing what sticks, and then leaving ppl hanging dry when they decide it’s not getting in enough cash or is too broken and withdraw it.
Half-finished refits from Khan that aren’t available in event stores, with no sign of event ever running again. No communication on last run it would be last, not a word about it anywhere.
Spent a mountain of everything getting Flashpoint-specific officers that aren’t useful now, mostly just ATA slaves.
I have no faith, no trust, and little appetite…

These “compensation” Exocomps are a joke. Dropping them in the gift chest section where they auto-activate isn’t helping players, it’s just another trap. I opened a Compassion chest and bang — buffs gone, wasted, zero benefit. That’s not compensation, that’s sloppy design disguised as generosity.

If you actually wanted to fix the problem, you’d put them in the Transogen refinery where we could activate them on our terms. Anything else is just smoke and mirrors. Don’t insult us by handing out “comp” that vanishes the second we touch it. Right now, it’s not a gift — it’s garbage.

So after all the feedback yesterday, this morning I open a Compassion chest and guess what? The exact same two Exocomps drop again — and of course they auto-fire instantly, whether I can use them or not. That’s not compensation, that’s just rubbing salt in the wound.

Here’s the obvious fix you keep ignoring: these are Exocomps. They should go where all the other Exocomps go — in the Exocomp station, where we can actually store and activate them when we need them. That’s the whole point of Exocomps in the first place: player choice and timing.

Instead, you’ve shoved them in gift chests that explode the second we touch them, making them worthless to anyone not mining in that exact moment. That isn’t a solution. That isn’t compensation. It’s sloppy, lazy implementation that wastes players’ time and insults their intelligence.

If you’re going to call something “compensation,” then make sure it actually compensates. Right now, these Exos aren’t a gift — they’re just garbage with a timer attached.

F2P can easily finish the first event. 15-20 kills of new hostile, that you would need to hunt anyway is free gifts of rss.

Light spenders and F2P can try to finish the Heroic. Or they can choose to skip it without loosing anything irreplaceable like Prime particles etc.

Heavy spenders and heavy grinders can try to achieve the Extra Heroic one. Or skip it as well.

There is one major change...for example at level 70 I had a normal event limit of 1200 hostile and at Elite 1800 I personally wouldn't have a problem even with this amount but what I have a problem with is that you only kill 2-4 npc per ship life and then you have to repair...and most importantly ....event completely ignores the concept of ship strength or some combination of crew.... it doesn't matter what kind of ship or crew you have ....you will kill same amount of hostile with G4 ship or G6 ship and if you want more you are pushing to pay....

This month, they made some adjustments to events to split 45+ and 20-44 players. There are a lot more targeted events for the latter segment that are supposed to smooth the progression. CotA has been pushed into the top segment in return.

But the CoTA provides stuff that smooth the progression through the ferengi tokens, i.e. trit/dilithium/G3 crystal ore etc. The only difference is, they also provided extra stuff for people who already had an abundance of that stuff, so that they could buy other things like ship parts, blueprints, etc.

youre basically saying that they removed COTA in favor of 20-44 events that only provide progression because their goal is to push everyone to higher ops levels and to limit the distraction into other avenues for players who dont want to power-upgrade to ops 45 yet

Its not exactly demonstrably false, though. For all we know, the higher ups have rationalized this by saying "Well, its only a small percentage of 20-44 that participate in the ascension event anyways, so they dont really get a significant amount of ferengi tokens, but on the flipside were seeing more people participate in the dailies so this surely is an avenue for more mats and therefore progression!" With the limited info we have available its hard for us to realize whats going on, and although i have no doubt that there is some stupid rationalization coupled with "This will also give us an excuse to push more monetary content on people" going on, the basis for their rationalization may actually be rooted in some facts that are unavailable to us.

i am a somewhat dedicated player who always gets in atleast the top 5 if not 1st or 2nd in the ascension events, so i definately get more value from the events than others. But if Scopely were to tell me as a GM/Admin "Well, the numbers tell us that only 5% of players are participating in Ascension, but 40% are doing the daily and participating in the "Sum of its parts" events", its not like im going to accuse scopely of lying

You have the benefit of hindsight and getting to see all of the events as they pop and evaluating with perfect information. My position was given insight into how the event structure was designed and intended. There are a lot more events, period. Half the #💫-event-information section for this month is purely 20-44 players. The 45+ restriction of CotA was not disclosed ahead of time.

Since I cannot see the events, I cannot evaluate the quality of rewards, nor the effort required. If you feel that they do not meet the design intention, then that's a important feedback to give.

Im ops 35, and i told you, i consistently get top 5, so yes, I am not getting more of anything either. Doing it to ops 50+ will have no affect on me because im still Ops 35.
But a game cannot be balanced around whoever gets 1st place. You cannot use the 1st place player as a metric to balance, for example, how many hostiles you should be kiling to finish an SMS. A simple "Im always 1st place and this is a downgrade to me, and what other people do or dont do has nothing to do with me" mindset is both stupid and simplistic. This game isnt built simply for you, its built for everyone.

It's helpful to see the kinds of rewards they're giving out and event requirements. It would also be helpful to hear the kind of experiences you have with regards to progression and loop fueling. Having events with rewards is conducive toward a specific kind of behavior, and removing said events should reduce pressure to continue on that path. In short: hoarders benefit, at the cost of rewards while waiting. If it was determined that this was a contributing factor toward general player underdevelopment, then fixing this could reduce the amount of difficulty complaints we've been seeing the last few months.

Whether this is a good idea or not depends a lot on the totality of rewards given to players in that segment. Give them enough stuff in the right areas, and it's a solid foundation. Otherwise, it could make new problems. Rather than attacking people for trying to fix the hardships, leave feedback on what was delivered and point out any gaps between that and what is needed.

Thats not what i said at all, What i said was that you cannot build events around what the top of the leaderboard receive, because they will always receive the best rewards.
And thats the problem with you. You think im defending this, when ive clearly been vocal about my dissapointment and frustration with it, which i voiced multiple times to Cand1e. Maybe you didnt read it, and thats fine, but again, as an OPS 35 who consistently placed in the top 5 of the event, and who saved up his currency for this event with full expectation that this event would occur again as it was listed WITHOUT Ops restrictions in the event-information tab, this certainly hurts me.
BUT, and a big BUT here.
Even with giving events, there has to be balance. You cant just create a "Give 10 Trillion Trit, Par and Dil to all ops 20-30 for killing 1 hostile" event, even though that would most definately help every 20-30 player. Im sure a lot of ops 31+ players would find that unfair.
With the Ascendant event, if only 5% of players are participating(Only 25 players get the reward, after all), but 40% of players participated in the SMS, which do you think gives more benefit to the general 20-44 player population?

The difference however, is Alicia is offering feedback in a constructive manner and looking to improve things. Your approach from what you've written so far has been to put Cand1e on blast simply for passing on what scopely have said and being confrontational to anyone that doesn't agree with your 'torches and pitchforks' method of venting frustration.

Problem is, we didnt get notice. I had hoarded my mats for this event specifically, while forgoing the other events. Event-information tab on discord didnt mention this either. I actually generally dislike the CotA style events that score off a whole bunch of things. I AM a hoarder for exactly this reason. So I do in fact generally score well. But would I rather spend all the things as able? Yes. But since generally Scopely gives good rewards for such events, I tolerate my lower power due to hoarding, to be able to score well. But I don't know the solution to this. To be blunt, most events and everything are built to spell packs. There's a reason why every day of CotA has a new bundle of 24hour packs to sell. Scopely doesn't want us to hoard, but not because it makes us underpowered. They want us to turn to packs as the solution. I get it, they're a business. I don't know the best answer for them to make money and still have happy players, so not really getting into that. But the behavior they teach all the time, and has never changed, is to hoard. Because there will always be events. And those events will have a pack to move you along. So if you don't want to pack it up, you have to hoard.

Bit of a tangent there lol. But point is I agree on how they can influence behavior. But they're creating the problems here lol. And as for sub 44, great, remove reason to hoard. But that just means remove it as scoring. Still have events to do things and get decent rewards. As seems to be general consensus, Ortega is a horrible reward or motivator for people. Sub 44 need the same thing as ALL players, the tools to move up. Officer sourcing, specialty ship BPs and parts, things like that

Unsolicited advice, just for your consideration, T5 Harry is king. Especially at your ops, get an Enterprise that gets shield regen with morale. That used to mean an above deck slot always getting Kirk, for morale. But throw Harry below for guaranteed morale? You now have a ton of Enterprise shield regen with all 3 officer slots open

And in the future? Nova Squadron building feeds Star Path research tree that gives shield regen to ANY ship with morale. So Harry will always be uesful

This is not correct, the 20-44 events do not give officer depot tokens or any officers outside of ortegas. The only source has been cosmic choice that was available to all ops. Just rss, small syndicate xp, and small amount of forbidden tech mats in the slbs dedpending on the day. edit: this arc, 400k + the sms is the max depot tokens available for 1st place in the slb. Only 1 cosmic choice has happened and 0 other depot events. So definitely not handing them out generously.

Is there a cosmic choice today at least for the lower ops? When we got removed from COTA in the past, we had a cosmic choice as that was a more "ops appropriate" alternative? To not have the COTA, building event, or cosmic choice for anyone ops 44 or below is pretty awful.
