I understand where the frustration is coming from. Its a free gift, but theres also an SLB that is tied to how many you use. It's less about the officer now and more about the armada itself. Before starting a rev group armada click the scan button and check it's hhp. If the bar is empty it's a ghost armada and will fail to start.

I like the idea of the event. The execution of the event is really poor. The lag is brutal and the matchups incomprehensible. How is a level 44 with 2-49s at my side ending up fighting a 53. Formadas aren't intended to be done solo. And the rela wasn't designed to carry a leg, you'll want other ships there.

Standard armada crews are fine. They have kinda high stats, so officers like toli seem ineffective.
If you're doing the rela legs, I'd suggest using the rela be the starter with a PB Gwen crew, and ask members to include her on their bridges.

In case it helps with your team’s investigation, I had the game installed on my 11” iPad Pro, 1T storage (with plenty of storage availability), 16G RAM, 18.3.1 OS. I had to uninstall the game off of my iPad because it was heating up the battery until it was uncomfortable to the touch, draining the battery more quickly than typical, and preventing the iPad from getting a full charge after getting plugged in (despite fully closing the app and multiple hard reboots). As soon as I removed the app, the device was able to fully charge and it cooled off.

Edit: I wasn’t noticing the same kind of crashing that others have mentioned, but I was having issues with both the Kirshara function not working right quite a lot (would just not take or error out), and just issues with clicking on hostiles in general and the app not acknowledging it.

Tournament starting soon, and no evidence that the screwed up Rankings have been fixed. MASTER RANKED fleet only getting Novice points and awards due to scopley error.
Then forcing entire fleet to put in individual tickets to fix thing case by case while crying about getting to many ticket submisions. Fix it before running it again, or you will get another pile of repeat tickets cause its not fixed. Our fleet is all ready prepared to start sending ticket in piles if we see errors again on day one. We wont wait till it ends to get brushed off again.

It doesn't help that the whole system is designed very badly and is unnecessarily complicated and buggy.
The only good thing about extending Alliance Tournaments is the possibility for a second pull once the cooldown resets. But I think that cooldown is already more than 6 days.

Scopley do nothing to improve the quality of the game. Every change is designed to empty pockets or give players FOMO. They should stop churning out garbage updates with pointless reciprocal loops and grinds. No one asked for extended tournaments draining what little resources f2p stock up. With most of the larger rewards locked behind credit cards. Scopley have broken the game the faithful player bases trust and should just turn it over to some developer more capable.

A lot of servers are very different places. Different age, different power spread, different number of active players. I'd guess they're taking those things into account some when the pairings are made.

Setting one server with 3k active players and an average ops of 50 against one with 1200 and an average ops of 40 seems likely to get ugly quick.

Seems like there should be more than 1 or 2 that you'd pair ok enough against, but 🤷.

Change up the event for levels 50+ to Confederation Domination. Those with a maxxed Jellyfish receive a CSS World Razer skin which will increase the Jellyfish's warp range to 185 and provide a 300% weapons damage boost. Make it a basket type event where the player can choose either Federation, Klingon or Romulan and the other two grey out after selection. Use the non-armada level 50 systems. Rewards would be 5* gas/dil/explorer parts, crystal/trit/interceptor parts, or ore/par/battleship parts depending on the faction selected. Throw a small amount of rare ship parts in for good measure. You have to buy the new ships to complete this mission and that’s never been a season mission requirement. I’m level 43 my best ship is only 40 mil in power and we had 300 mil in power hitting the neutral arm of the formation and barely scratched it.

If you have friendly alliances, you can try to organize with them, they can take down the 2 legs that have buffs, and then you can take down the neutral leg. As long as the whole thing dies you'll get credit even if you only kill 1 of the 3 parts.

This. Scopely simply does not want to make the one change that would have made players engage in this event, even with the bugs: Disconnecting the arena rank from Terran favors. They keep throwing darts at the board and missing, all while the player base has literally handed them the ideas that would help hundreds of times….

Arena changes have gone the wrong way. It started out somewhat playable. Now it's not even close to something that people want to participate in. If you're going to nerf ships, make them more equal. The differences in ship power, FT and CT is so powerful that only the extremely PvP focused people have a chance. I am in an extremely active alliance and it's now almost impossible to get 3 people to do arenas.

narrowing the band for the squad was not great. the problem is that the power curve for ops level has some serious cliffs at key points.

e.g., G5 vs G4, and G5 vs G6. having a band of 49-52 (or any that straddles a significant power differential) is never going to be fair / good / competitive vs something 47-50 and 51-54

don't make the squad ops range dynamic based on who started the squad. instead, put hard stops creating sets of ranges that all have a relatively flat power curve, then you can match those groups with each other and start having better matches.

if necessary, introduce handicapping / standardization to flatten big power inequity further.

The focus on ops banding is the issue with arenas, they really need to make it ship based. I.e leader has max G4 UC then all participants can only have max G4 UC, maybe allow higher to join but limit there ships only to the max of the starter

If you do that then you risk handicapping people because someone skipped a ship where another person didn't
If I go to 53 with just a G4 Epic and it locks out the G5 UC, then everyone who skipped the G4 Epic is capped at G4 Rare and gets absolutely hosed. (Not that most of the people with low level G5 UCs don't get hosed anyway...)

It's like one of those in before the lock things... If you're an upper level player, and you were able to get hot early, you could have advanced. I was able to get my level up to platinum 3? Now there's no chance of advancing... I have to win nine in a row to get to the next level? But it's win one, lose one, win two lose three, win three lose three... At the end of the day it's a wash. Making it a waste of time. And if I go backwards then I lose what I get out of my chest pull every morning. Why would I risk that?

You know what would be nice? Bracket community matchmaking. Arena starts, you can queue solo within a select level range. If you’re 53 you must select 50-53 or 47 you must select 45-49. And you even get a squad chat allowing you to speak with your new found random teammates.

The daily events aren't designed to be done every time they show up. The weekly events haven't been a problem for me at all, but I max pull all of the uncommon and rare armada chests every day, which means I end up with a ton of extra rare/epic directives because of it.

We had several people in our alliance that were confused on the choice tokens closing today. having different end dates for the arc store vs the choice rewards seems unnecessarily confusing. Not to mention the tournament store, mega cube store, etc. too many stores with different dates.

I think they reopened it last month, so not consistent. These have only been around for a few months so the "every" month argument is sort of moot. Some folks saved them for tournament tasks. generally people like to wait and see what they got from events, refineries, etc to better gauge they needs at the end. There is a uniquely high number of "stores" open now and some have been extended so the communication is confusing. And there's no downside to reopening it for folks.

But you know weird thing you manage to collect your refinery pulls no problem or do your events to earn choice tokens in the required time. Ie within countdown timer of the event.

But can't redeem the currency you earned which had no cooldown timers, unlike the daily claim monthly daily rewards which have a 23hr cooldown.

Choice rewards had 0 cooldown and unlimited redeem with the 25days timer on them.

Yet you still seemed to not realise when they disappear when timer ends.

Guess you need choice rewards removed and mats and resources put back in the battle pass, because you don't seem to grasp yes you have a choice of what to claim and when, but don't understand timers.

Even shop has timers on it where packs are limited time like 2nd battle pass, or battle pass only when it's available and redeemable.

I do prefer the choice tokens of course but when mats are in BP directly and it "expires" you actually get a cash out reward of all the unclaimed milestones so in that respect the choice tokens could do similar (eg if you miss the date they auto pay you out in even distribution).
Life work etc sometimes get in the way by the way, and infact daily refinery claims aren't a good example to hold up because there are plenty of times the amount of daily claims is so onerous/time consuming that some of us can't claim them all 🤷‍♂️
