13k xindi and regular armada tokens....but you can only get 1000 a week, or stockpile 5000. And for rares, it takes 11 weeks to get one if you're under ops 53 and 25 weeks for anyone over ops 53. And then you offer practically NOTHING as incentive to actually do it? Um. No.

2nd....Do a wave with the new ship so you can get some event store loot? Um. No.

3rd. New daily stuff is recycling every 4 days with a run on artifacts and ft, where you can only get 800 red things a day IF you activated the arena thing AND you collect silents and the other 150 a day. Oh, and to get a solomada token, that takes a week for an uncommon and 2 weeks for a rare.

What kind of genius thought this through?

In their video interview a bit back the dev team basically said the game is in 2 parts, introduction til ops 40 and then 40+ , most new features, Ships etc will be 40+ ops from what they said. 40 ops is the new 30 ops ( their words) .

Once you get past 45, you can reasonably get the 2nd milestone for free. Before 45, just the 1st one is doable provided you don't collect your battlepass syndicate before the event starts. 3rd and 4th are definitely $$$.

I fully recognize that players who are under Ops 40 are basically dead to the dev team, and I understand why there are relentless additions of Prime researches (and their "totally not research" brethren like Chaos Tech), but pushing this event to people who can't even build the ship if they DID buy the prints? That's a whole new level.

I am so sorry that nearly every month you have to deal with the complaints. We know it isn't your fault and that you're just the messenger. This could be a really great game, but the company insists on shooting itself in the foot, month after month.

The scoring in the Pinnacle of Power event really needs to be adjusted. There aren't enough pulls available to get the directives complete it every week, and SMS events should always be completable (for free).

I agree! There's a lot of good in this game, but what's handed down from the mountain on high is not always positive.. even things like "quality over quantity!" then adding more and more loops all year.. it's very frustrating as a player that doesn't enjoy being wringed out like a sponge.

The problem is that Scopely goes between doing well balancing monetization and fun with flat out destroying the balance. They aren't consistent in quality in any way and refuse to address some of the core issues with the game, instead covering them up in hopes people will just move on. It's a poorly managed game from the top down. it's unfortunate because the game has a potential to be incredibly fun instead of just addictive.

But this event isn't to get shards, it's to use the already-built ship.. so I'd need to increase to Ops-42 (with the Shipyard built) AND pay for the prints for the ship to be able to participate. The inclusion of uncommon armadas is just a deflection from the real purpose of the event. It is to drain your stockpile of rare and epic directives so you have to buy them for future events. The inclusion of uncommon directives is just a hamhanded attempt to make it look like it isn’t just another depletion cash grab event.

The event is an "Joke". Look at the Rewards. It can be finished in less then two hours if you are low OP and if you are at an higher OP you won't even touch it since those "Ships" Parts are less then 1000 Latinum worth.

If you are having an issue with 400 RARE Directives you must be missing out either on the weekly Alliance Armada Events and/or have stopped pulling those parts in the Faction/Alliance Claims.

There are literally Alliances that have an "X RARE weekly or you are getting kicked out" policy.

Have you guys looked at this, too? A drydock on OPs 56 gives about 10 or 15k power. That would be 4 million in drydrock power or about 3-4000 drydrock levels... No clue if my math is just bad, but yeah - that sounds impossible even for whales and that's just the first stage.

There is no way people can complete it free to play in a month especially when research needs particles and these a drip fed in small amounts daily. The milestone seem very high. For me I have all buildings at my ops level so I'm relying on research which is giving 5k to 28k power so that's going to take a long while to get to 50mil power increase needed to finish the event this month.

so for my g5 (ops60) daily spend, if I pump in what it pays out in G5 unc/rare I score about 169K points. To complete it, I need to score 848K. So it costs me 5 times more than I get from it. You could argue it's a 20% discount on an upgrade you would do at some point anyway but if it doesn't score for the officer sms/slb, why would anyone bother? Better to keep it and spend it during that as it could be the difference between different final ranking on the SLB

I think they mean some of these event milestones are a bit much for weekly occuring events. It takes longer than 24hrs running uncommons for me to max the FKR armada (I'm ops 31 and don't get many rare or epic directives).

Well as is typical, scopely makes some of these events subliminally Heroic (I.e Spend $) as a Ops 57 I can pull every Armada chest and not pull enough directives to do that "Final Weapon" event weekly and max threshold... I realize that. However, it's a typical ploy to drain rss in an attempt to get you to spend. You don't have to do event, however, as a weekly event it's kinda upsetting cause these weekly events are supposed to be achievable through non-pay sources.

The armada one is easily doable at that level. I’m Ops56 and my top milestone is 13k points. It’s 7.5k for starting an epic FKR, and 4k for starting a rare. If you’re opening the full G3 rare boxes every day (which is easily achievable) you’ll easily have enough epic tokens to start 2 armadas on the day of the event

The G3 rare armada boxes are the key for doing armadas. And it’s only 30k rare tokens per day for that. Do a single L55 rare armada and you’ll be set for a month!

Pulling just the G3 rare won't get you 2 full starts every week. It will probably get you close or there most of the time, but I've had 6 chests give me 0 epic directives. Directive sourcing isn't good enough to sustain without paying as is.

Yep, rare can be the bottleneck, I agree. That’s why when you have the opportunity to start one you need to go big. Starting an L55 rare FKR gets you 200k rare credits from the host loot box, and then your actual loot on top of that. That’s clearly enough for 30k of G3 pulls each day

Easy fix for the weekly Xindi for G5 would be to make the Xindi UC count for 6k or more. Then your weekly Xindi plus an epic is enough, and that is sustainable.

The March of Madness was so poorly thought out that for the 1st time in 6 years I feel I must rant. With a 5.41B point event completion milestone I would need to do some serious magic. STFC web lists the total research power for the entire territory tree as being 7,897,500. Event multiplier is x15 gives me 118,462,500 event points or 25% of what's needed to just reach the 1dt tier reward.. Come on guys .. think!

At 62 it requires 3.4B points, that is 225m net power in Research. Which is like 10m Research Power per day, not even all available Primes (assuming I buy them) would give so much points. Surely they may have added few zeros by mistake. 🤷🏻‍♂️

It would unlock some new research nodes which would give some good power but I would still be luck to reach the first milestone of 81mil points. Nevermore the over 600mil point needed to finish the event. It would probably need me to move from ops 53 to 60 at least in 1 month. Defo not happening

It’s somewhere in the Q&A. They have specific definition for how they classify heroic. The directive event wasn’t specifically tied to packs/sales or something thus no label. Even though it does require separate spend via ship which is what the players observe

It’s a lot but directives you can at least source and hoard semi decently. Via crucible of war, uncommon / rare armada chest pulls (especially if you get higher ops players to help you on higher armadas so you get more loot

Thanks to the 200 directives i was able to get all but the last milestone using a ship to enter the system and start 2 armadas. Sped the first one then fired the 2nd and left. Didn't fight either one knowing full well i couldn't beat them.

I've been playing this game for 5 years. I'm ops 62 and have an alt at 32. This months updates have killed the game for me. Mainly speaking about the daily mini updates. My 32 cannot progress at all anymore. My main will be more or less okay but will be slowed down by my decision today.

Scopley tone deafness to the players has hit an all time high. I am a light spender and I've spent ~$3200USD on stfc in my 5 year journey.

I plan to continue to play stfc because I do enjoy it quite a lot. My days of spending money on STFC has come to an end.

I wouldn't care too much about the word heroic.
Some heroic events are easy to complete without spending money, other events aren't, and then there are events that you can clearly only finish if you spend and they don't have the word heroic in their title.

The fact that it's every 4 days, plus the SLB every 4 days (but not at the same time, no, that would be too helpful), plus whatever other events they put up (like the 2 day SLB that's currently running), makes it unsustainable. Non-Heroic SMS events are supposed to be events that most active players should be able to complete every time they show up. That's not going to be the case with these new dailies. People will rapidly run out of mats to spend, and will end up skipping some to save up for the next one

Contrary to a lot of people, I like the new event structure, but the milestones for the SMS are way too high. Adjust them down significantly (like a factor of 5 or 10 at least), and the problem goes away, although I think bringing back ultra recruit tokens in the reward structure would be an improvement

@cosmic steeple Perception is everything. The lack of a FTP store currency event and the many ptw events in the events tab can make the FTP and low spend players frustrated. Event store currency (ESC) months are viewed as a catch up mechanic. It's hard to catch up if there are not opportunities to earn the currency for the store. Less then 20k ESC after the first four days does not give a good impression and adds to the frustration. That is how I am viewing this.

Yesterday using the cube today voyager nx01 the day before etc. pretty solid idea there perhaps with some room for expansion (which the Sunday discovery event desperately needs) but the new events in the daily tab definitely are way way too high for daily. A lot of people will just be ignoring them and accepting rewards on the off chance they’re met.

I am skipping most new events. Today's daily ship upgrade event wants me to spend 100k in uncommon 4 star mats for a couple thousand crystal and some tritanium. I can't spend that much on any of my ships even though i have it but why would I? I can keep my 100k mats whuch is far more than the reward amount and pull the tritanium from the swarm refinery. The entire event is useless to me. Then there is the recurring event with rodinum particles and service awards. I get all i need from dailies and away teams and the starbase mechanic is dead. Nobody cares about that reasearch and if they're like me have enough to max the tree when an incursion event needs total research completed to score. Finally, the loss of officer events and upgrade events for officer xp is the worst part. Those were desireable events that just needed a reward update for current ops levels. Now we lost a large source of our officer xp that will most likely get brought back as a p2p mechanic.

As a $20 a month battle pass spender, here's my take on the new daily/ weekly event plan:

Though I've been able to do quite a few so far thanks to having reserves, this pace is not sustainable. The rewards are better in some ways, but worse in others. Specifically I've seen no lat or speed ups in the events or made up for elsewhere. Even if I, at level 43 could keep up with the materials and ship parts spending (which i don't see as feasible), they are costing me well over 100 days worth of speedups each time with less lat and speed ups coming in.

In short, you've only added more events that can't be accomplished on a regular basis which greatly diminishes my sense of daily accomplishment and, subsequently my enjoyment and fulfillment in the game.

Giving us events that reward us for doing the things we already have to do is good. On the whole, the new weekly events seem like a positive change. Hey! Thanks and sorry for not replying. You had solid feedback. Does it change anything that you don't have to compete in all the daily events to still get the meta? I heard that you only need about 70% of the SMSs.

It's only good a good add if the resources gifted throughout the week can sustain it. If it's just going to work long enough to wear down peoples' reserves (and thus never have them for other events) it's a very very bad add.

not sure for all armadas, but for eclipse and these new ones, its ship power, so if someone brings a strong ship other than the stella/revenant, they take all the loot

It's always been ship power

Ship power determines initial spread, then research/officers/ship abilities boosts your cut.

It's why you don't let non specialty ships in specialty armadas

Right! Sorry got turned around. All armadas are based on power? But if you're using the Revenant, and start the armada, you're still getting the big chest right?

if you start yes, but if you join someone else you are screwed as you get basically nothing

armadas are based on the power of your ship compared to the total power

if your ships is 20% of the total power, you get 20% of the loot

multiplied with all your bonussed ofc

That's when you need to start enforcing armada rules, if someone is tossing a big ship in there, they're not actually helping with how the mechanics work

so it's greed, and you need to act accordingly

the ability to kick from armada would fully suffice, splitting loot based on damage is not much better measure than power split

but yes, based on how these armadas are implemented, normal ships are cannon fodder at best

Nice change on dailies into a weekly/daily mix.
Challenging events, encouraging spending vs hoarding, different events across the week but dailies on a predictable cycle.

that's not a counter opinion, that's just a partial, events are good, the scaling is not, let's see your opinion in a while, when you run out of mats and other stuff and can't participate in bigger events

that indeed seems to be true, I didn't do the math yet, but at least for the f2p (with elite BP) it seems like much bigger drain than income allows, the ship parts being the worst (as it inevitably includes spending mats as well), temporal artifacts as well, but as I said, I like the events, we'll see in time how sustainable it is

Interesting, I'll have to check my math on that, but it originally seemed like more than that to complete the meta, plus some slb, but I could easily be wrong.

However, even at 70% of the slbs the cost in speed ups and lat is still a factor. I get that the meta isn't intended to be completed EVERY month (similar to the free treasury) but is it intended to drain us of mats/parts/ speed ups/lat regularly?

Personally, i would feel better about it if i could complete the daily sms events consistently to give partial completion of the meta and a couple slb's needed to fully complete it. Note that doing this requires the issue of getting enough lat or speed ups to do the extra buildings and research. It seems that in these event rewards scopely has neglected the fact that time is a currency in this game and one that is universally necessary for growth.

I'd like to add that, in my perception, having events that can be completed is a bigger factor in game satisfaction than having greater rewards that are regularly out of reach. The latter just makes the game feel more pay to play and feels like a bigger money grab on scopely's part.

I'm going to add in an in game example here for you:

Right now, the building and research upgrade event is 379.17k points to complete, that translates to 9480 unc 4* material. The most time efficient way to do that is with buildings (I'd like to be focusing on research, but the time to material cost ratio is typically much higher for research). With the options I have available, that will cost me 130 days of build time... this event occurs again in 2 days.

You do not need slb’s at all. This month the math works out that if you do one weekly event per day (most of them are just grind events) plus pinnacle of power, you need another 14 daily SMS’s, out of the 52 that will be running.

Checking the math, I see you're correct. My concern remains the same, though. The daily sms events are really just only 4 events repeated every other day just switching the times they run. Artifacts upgrades, fleet commander, ship parts spending, research/bldg materials spending. Even doing only one of each per week (which would make that 14) I don't see being consistently feasible without more income of the currencies needed to do so (especially lat and speedups for the building/ research).

This also neglects my other point of having daily events that can't be completed daily and that reducing my overall game satisfaction.

Yes, most of the events besides the fleet commander one (assuming your Titan is high enough) can’t be completed every time. The spend events you can do all of them during the recruit slb, or it will also score towards the recruit sms this time (they’re apparently running it throughout the rest of the arc starting tomorrow). The older dailies couldn’t all be done every time either, though.

I like the new daily events format. It greatly cuts down the screen time for me. I just put up a long shield if I don't want to do that event.

While I agree the 8472 should count. The voyager events as they are, aren't too bad for g4 players just punch up on the non-elite hirogens...

You'd be better off just hitting appropriate for your level elites since they have a 4× points bonus.
I did my event in like 5 kills, took more time warping to the system than to actually kill the hostiles.
