Well.. probably not, but those of us in 51-60 want to progress and might spend on a pack or two. Not enough points from it to participate in xslb where are 2+ server worth of G6 players, where if you do not place in top 10 XSLB you are better off just buying officer pack. But there are also many more G5 players than G6 players, so if there is some small carrot in form of heroic sms, they might actually spend something on packs instead of skipping this weekend recruit event.
I have no issue in (X)SLB being 51-70 as long as there is the SMS along with it that guarantees you some officer shards for quite hefty material investment, and allows you to progress at steady pace.

Well considering the game doesn't tell you that you've been moved to nr 2 spot on an event you have to know that you self or have a bot , i purposely waited till there was like maybe 15 seconds left and climbed abit up quite quickly but considering you cant see where you are unless you go to that menu and click and the game can't run on both a pc / tablet / phone at the same time, not the same client anyhow, my conclusion is , the guy is using this bot , i won't name it , but i found it rather quickly.

But i've sent a mail to scopely , the one they provided in how to contact support ,then they will have to evaluate if thats the case, but yes some people are so obessed with the game that they bot 24/7

I don't deny that there is likely bots and cheats out undetected. It's the case with most games , but from past experience if I'm winning or planning to win an slb, I will be refreshing that leaderboard for the last minute. If I see any point increase in the top 10, I blow whatever big points I was holding off on. That was old obsessed me. Now I just use what I use and if I win I win 🤷‍♂️ cba to be there saving stuff till the end anymore

Obviously not, but if the game doesn't tell you your position unless you're sitting there actively watching the leaderboards, you can't make it out of the leaderboards into your forbidden tech to attempt to upgrade something enough to gain that many points in 15 seconds, i outright refuse to believe that considering how slow and wonky the client is.

Maybe. The few times I care about an SLB, I will do a literal last minute check and dump what inputs I have left in with 30s on the clock, if I see things changed in the past few minutes. No bots needed.

The current max earnable total is 322.5k if you've finished every bp event, including today's. I would wait a bit, and clear localization and reboot to see if the score catches up. If you're still missing 1250 from that total, then I'd contact CS. There's no way to be missing that exact amount except through a bug.

Same in my alliance but the hostile event varied, some on hirogen, some on cardassian. The fact that quite a few had the same problem should tell them that theres a problem their side but they wont accept that. I was away for that day so could tell them within a 3 hour gap of when i killed the cardassians and what system i was in, that isnt enough though. Given up with this now, not bothered with borg pvp event today, will finish the domination event just by doing dailies but im done with going out of my way to do battlepasses now. There are just too many problems to spend all my time doing stuff for them to get it wrong. I must have opened 10 tickets minimum in my time on this game and not once have they come up with an ideal solution (in this case to give me what i rightfully earned). Started playing a different game today, one thats less frustrating and hopefully will either run without bugs or have a support team that listens (not a scopely game lol)

Skipping the grinding loops is no biggie, just do them at the next ship tier level. None of the recent grindy loops are actually needed for player progression…if you’re not a spender, you’ll just keep banging into the exact same refined-mats wall, over and over again, whether you grind them or leave them until they’re easy.

If you’re a spender, you’re buying the buffs anyway, so doesn’t really matter then, either.

Monaveen doesn’t help with new loops, I know someone that can’t kill more than 1-2 per run.

There has to be some element of rng involved. Ops 50 triple locked I got no mil sup one month, got mil sup the next month after I had built one g4 epic.

Got a mate with one 53 and rep for a second but no mil sup this month for them.

There was also a long ago report of some ops 38 guy getting mil sup even though they had already built all three g3 epics, so being behind on ships isn’t necessary

This is the most consistent piece of the formula. Scopely has other random stuff thrown in, but it’s effectively guaranteed if you can build a faction ship and haven’t done so.

Nearly 5 hours into event. Ops 31 bracket on server 162. There's not many who try in this event but I'm surprised because the contraband chips can buy some useful skins. I've just bought the Assimilated skin. The Ent/Augur/D4 skins aren't appearing for me but do I need to have built the ships first for them to appear?

Yes, Maria is definitely in higher bracket for that event, (although we share brackets for some others). There's still several players in most SLB events, it's this one that doesn't seem too popular for some reason

Daily events aren’t alliance events. The current faction hunt and the just concluded crucible of war had alliance events where you’d have seen other alliance members if they’d scored in them.

Crucible of war is ops 10+ so most people should be scoring in it

Which event are you talking about? The ones that pay out latinum as a reward for an slb with scoring for upgrading buildings, for eg, are not an alliance event, they are solo leaderboards. You will only see their score if you are in the same bracket as them.

You only see your alliance mates scores for alliance events. For solo events you see the people in your ops bracket, which may include some of your alliance members but it won’t include everyone.

This is why I haven’t participated in an SLB since g6 was included, and why I never will. This doesn’t encourage spending, it encourages skipping it. Why would I participate in an event when I have 0% chance of winning something worthwhile. I would have to spend thousands just to try and have a chance. M’Benga & Sam Kirk aren’t even available for sale in my store, so I can’t even do that if I want to. I just complete the SMS’s, get them that way, and stop. I’m not going to enable Scopely’s insane plan to make people spend thousands just for a chance at competing for a top spot. I’m sure other servers have much higher scores(funny thing is, this is a rather low scoring event, G6 usually goes a lot higher), but, even on mine, when first place is this high, I don’t have $5,000+ for a chance at a top spot on a single event. When Scopely seperates G5 and G6, then I’ll compete again. It’s funny, Scopely thinks they’re encouraging people to spend and move up by keeping G5 and G6 together; for a lot of people, it’s having the exact opposite effect. We can’t compete with G6, so why bother trying? My growth has actually slowed since I stopped spending materials once the SMS is finished.

Just my own opinion, but I’m standing by it.

In general, I wouldn't expect new content to target that segment. The game's aged a bit now, and the bulk of their players are past it. But that doesn't mean they don't care about those who aren't. It's just that they've already made a wealth of content for those still looking upward, and there's years of it waiting for you. The new content is for those who've exhausted much of what was already made, and looking for something fresh to bite into.

Yeah, the death march to 56 is ridiculous. Needing rare mats before you can refine them is just gross. It’s clearly a designed paywall, so there’s nothing we can do about it…it’s not going to change. This is my Pilum crew that gets about 412k per run and costs about 25% hull. 10 hits of Apex 48.

Before this I was getting similar with Voyager and Valdore but the Talios isn't worth using until you're at G5 levels IMHO.

@dreamy patio has shown me the error of my ways, so let me amend my complaint ever-so-slightly: Scopely should indicate that there’s a “surprise” or something. If Ad Astra only showed Sam last month, Scopely was only giving folks part of what they needed to decide to spend. They actually missed out on $ bc (1) the event had 5 spots and (2) it was better than advertised. Surprises are fun, but they should at least be hinted at.

It’s really kind of amazing that they would keep a secret so good that folks wouldn’t spend bc they didn’t know about it

It usually does have defiant parts. There are restrictions though, the exchanges go away if you're at a level lock for your tier.
