Has anyone check the premium recruit chests lately. The info box says you get five guaranteed shards. Then only getting two per chest. Have tried to file a ticket for two days and cannot get a response. Posted a video showing it all and they keep just saying I didn’t respond. Give me no time and close the conversation. If the shards pulled are uncommon officers that you've maxed, you get the officer xp instead.
If you're watching the animation and you get two of the same UC officer, you don't see the conversion twice in the animation (but still get the xp)

It's guaranteed 5 pulls from the pool, not guaranteed shards of officers you don't have maxed yet.

This open-ended PvP is freaking ridiculous! Many players can't complete their dailies because of mor powerful players campaign in systems, killing everything! So many players have threatened to leave the game, while others are putting up 7 day shields and waiting to see if it gets better in a week. Scopelys made some questionable decisions in the past, but together we've been able to work through them. But this!? Was the rate at which people are quitting the game not high enough? Because this is the BIGGEST mistake they've made. Way to kill the game; one last Arc to get the last few bucks they can squeeze out of the whales before the majority quit.

I wonder if the developers, in their infinite wisdom, realize - that by making this prolonged pvp event, feeding their whales, and screwing over their average and f2p players, they are in actuality, also making it more difficult to complete their Battlepasses. Now its nice to get hundreds from the people foolish enough to invest heavily in an ephemeral digital product that will vaporize as soon as the IP is lost.... but you're making it less likely the average player, willing to pay for the battlepass, will have to upgrade. You can get short term gains, sure, but the churn will get worse, new players will leave faster than you can replace, and the average, reliable income will be gone. Then you have short term feeders and a game full of whales feeding on themselves, how long till the poorest of the whales, start giving up too? relying on ego to boost your sales, sounds good on paper, and may work for a small majority of fools. But in the end... well, thats not my problem. 🙂

the lost hostiles are where the formation armada's reside in. Thalassian systems are silent hostiles.

Correct lost are in delta quadrant/formada systems. You don’t have to summon anything, you just get bonus points if you use the voyager. Note that the voyager ability does not work on lost hostiles though, so you might be better off using a regular ship.

Lots will no longer buy the Battlepass Premium version, because even with it, there's not a guarantee of a full unlock of anything. The whales are embedded, but the average player has been taking a hike. The server merger after server merger combining all the whales, and miscreant players just has been creating a MORE toxic environment as the bigger whales have to harass the smaller whales that got smashed into the same cage. The merging notes always mention that the churn, the decrease in players is normal and planned, but that is a loss of reliable income, for the sake of quick cash grabs, and is unsustainable. The smaller whales they hope will spend more money, but also with the economies of the world the way they are, they can't rely on that. So now they have higher up whales, who have spent thousands upon thousands, to have ships that they can use to hunt miners, the miners of up and coming players who MAY consider buying the battlepass, or spending money on a game, IF they weren't constantly plagued and harassed. No one wants to give money to a game they think are going to die, or a game that gives them stress. The poor level of game design mixed with both the misguided idea that people like this type of content (add in the inability to keep the game working correctly - glitches and lag and a whole range of other technical fails), its not suprising those not already invested, would want to invest (and spend money) the game will have its churn go on, as always, but with a faster quit rate. Eventually the whales will have to eat each other, and then only the top spenders, will be around, lamenting their cc statements, with little to show for it.

The world has been changing lately, and not for the better, its been getting worse, with new games and a new backlash towards p2w and "live service games" in general. With inflation the spending has limits now days. As others have noted, as well Scopely has never been more out of touch with the community, added to that, there are much more choices in games. Mobile and PC wise, games like Genshin and Star Rail have been growing with communities that are having fun (even if waring between each other social media wise) - Blizzard with Diablo Imm. and The Warcraft mobile game, and other games have been giving players especially whales other things to spend money on, and its even fun over yonder. "A Proven Hypothesis" - I have two issues with this event. First one being the number of places payed as well as the prizes. Your going to have me compete with 100 people to win what will probably be 4 or 5 shards. Second issues is the title, as in I believe it means that Scopleys proven hypothesis is that folks are going to dump directives on this event and spend money. Unfortunately I think both are going to end up being true here. I will not be participating in this at all, as the juice isn't worth the space it takes up in the event tab, let alone the squeeze, and the title is a not so subtle middle finger at us players.

Scopely have announced new leaderboards based on % and not rank 1,2,3 etc and if it is a tie you get the same rewards, we have yet to see these leaderboards.

Also if you become 2nd in a slb with the same score as rank 1 player in slb. If you contact CS they will give you the rank 1 rewards also

Actually, no, it’s not. Stuff spent now is stuff not spent on a future SLB. Folks going for this are making a mistake. Not competing in is the right move here. Of course, the better move is for Scopely to return to SLB rewards that are actually worthwhile. Agreed. The problem is a relative one, though. We know what an SMS can be, and this ain’t that. This is a 4-day SMS that I can just about guarantee is being substituted for four 1-day SMS’s. So instead of getting mats + rss, or something else, we get 2.5 officer shards a day. The problem is what this has been used in place of. The SMS’s & SLB’s this month have been terrible. We’re losing out on a lot of rewards we would get in a normal arc

This is a pretty objective drop in rewards for effort. It’s not like this SMS is in addition to normal SMS’s. If it was, there’d be less to complain about. Instead, look at the total reward from SMS’s today: 1 pull of the new recruit chest and 2.5 Sam shards.

It’s even a drop compared to last week, iirc (EDIT: I’m betting this ends up being the lowest-payout arc in years, even factoring in Event Stores)

There is a difference between being fair game and having attacks made because of scopely inducing them. In the absence of these so called pvp events a lot of attacks simply wouldn't happen because they are pointless. Granted this bp simply means blowing up a low level ship on someone but the war room and other "pvp" events are essentially scopely paying people to attack other players. It is not pvp in any meaningful sense just players attacking players because they have to. If anyone should be upset it's the regular opc huntibg griefers who are probably finding far fewer and less juicy targets because they have way more competition and way fewer targets than they have under normal conditions but they probably haven't figured that out yet.

People will use it as an excuse who otherwise wouldn't engage in pvp. I have already had a ship on doing xp on auto blown up when a fortunate exploding on any ship would accomplish the same thing. A little pvp every now and then might induce some players to spend. Too much may induce rage quitting instead of rage spending. Regardless of how minor the bp event is it is still tone deaf and inducing players to annoy other players and that may not be as beneficial to scopely as they think it will.

This is like battle pass inception 😄 First battle pass required 100% event completion. People complained and an overflow was introduced that allowed you to miss some event milestones. Then people complained that there was no incentive to do the events when you had already completed the battle pass.
Overflow bonus rewards were introduced, and now people complain that the overflow requires 100% participation 😂
I mean, there's a whole lot that scopely gets wrong (or very little they get right), but this is kinda reaching imho.

The same crewing would apply though. You’ll need any officer that offers iso damage so some of the ent-e or janeway. Without those you’re going to struggle to hit them. ISO artifacts also help so if you can’t hit gorn then use the time to hit the formation armadas

some people at 29 will have a max vi'dar and be hitting borg probes with millions of health in rapid sequence and high iso damage. even with a max saladin if you can farm Ty'Gokor without PMC (which I doubt) the hostiles there have at most a third of the health.

The premise of it is using a ship that has a giant damage bonus as its ability to hit high strength hostiles with a crew that's high on isolytic damage, and anyone not scoring around that level probably either isn't using an iso-heavy crew or isn't punching up high with a damage boosting ship.

Research isn't an overwhelming source of iso damage. There are officers available that can greatly amplify ship damage, and ship damage varies quite a bit when you use a specialty ship vs their hostile target, eg. NX vs aquatics.

The strategy you're trying to employ is exactly the one I said to not use. A Leslie burn strategy will kill the hostile, sure, but almost all of the damage is via burn and worth 0 in the SLB.

Even the 40s have 184b hhp, and if you managed enough iso damage bonus, you could capture half of that hull worth in pts, ie. 92b in one easy hostile.

I feel ya. I'm ops 23 and in the same bracket of up to ops 29. The shear difference in ships and warp range makes this event impossible for my level. I was rank 1 at a few Mil and then less than 2 mins #1 was at hundreds of Mil. I know officers make a big difference, but so does my inability to have artifacts and certain ships. They really should have bracketed this event differently for my level at least.

I know another F2P player my ops who has lvl'd very slowly. He has tons of officers unlock and even then, the next player to him is 14x his score.

2. Incursions 24 hours this Friday on top of this stupid PvP 7 day event

3. Territory zones all reset and bonus points for the PvP event if hitting in territory

Basically making the game a fully PvP game for the week.

Only way scopely will learn is if active player numbers drop. Just going to put up 7 day shield and come back to game when this craziness is over.

Game is already a grind for normal players. This just makes it unplayable.

Literally zero ships in Exchange space for the BP event on my server. Whales cleared and everyone else just gave up. Another fantastic event by Scopely to encourage limited participation by average players.

War chest AMS is super easy to finish by swapping opc feesha with friendly alliance, that even it ok. What messes it up is the event that forces every alliance to flag every other alliance on server as enemy for 4 days. Once that is gone, War chest event will not be disruptive to gameplay

As it stands, the warroom is the worst addition to the game as it stands. It spits in the face of star trek and klingons by rewarding the most toxic of traits in the game. Hitting miners that have no opc and awarding points for it is just bad. There is no honor in it.

It has great potential to be a fun component but it detracts from the game as is. Galaxy wide forced pvp is bad for the game and player base. It is no fun.

I tried to play this arc but the 1st day I couldn't complete literally anything, I failed in being able even do battle pass. Every trip out of my base, i was killed by someone with a 1B ship, 2b in repairs to fly back and die again. You have created a world where you HAVE to grind so many things then made it impossible to do so. For the first time ever I have completely stopped playing during an arc. Seriously, Scopely, if you’re going to FORCE a PvP event, than you need to FIX your pairing system for people of certain levels only allowed to attack certain other levels. Like some form of level/ranking system that dictates who you can attack, and/or move all the PvP events to certain areas of space (i.e. a few systems outside of the neutral zone would be the place to go for PvP fights. There is a LARGE chunk of your player base that just want to play to level up and get their favorite ship. Not to be FORCED into fighting players completely out of their league.
