The only reason why this game hasn't died already is because of the love and dedication of the players to the subject/theme of the game. I don't use the armada mechanics much anymore. When so many are run people get left out. They are drama engines. The most active advance even more quickly. It breeds allaince discontent. I purposely don't engage much because of this. I use my directives as I get them and don't really save them for events. I would like to see fewer armada event not more and better sourcing of directives.

The problem is this event alone is taxing on directives supplies, then to have it run two days in a row is pretty bad. But on top of this, we’ve had armada event after armada event after armada event and no realistic way to source directives. I usually buy the galactic armada pack when available so im not adverse to spending for directives but I didn’t this time because I think the pace of armada events is too much. Also, the packs for the solo armada directives are insanely bad. I love the new armadas but won’t spend to get these directives if the packs they have out are how they’re going to be selling them. So they’re getting more demanding on directives and offering less attractive ways to get them and the armada rewards themselves are not great. Do I want to spend my rare directives on a carmada or ds armada? Clearly ds armada wins out.

The point is to give lip service to the players and make it feel like they are heard while keeping most issues ignored, unanswered, and unsolved.

Probably already said on here, but the armada event scoring is ridiculous. Scopely have said previously they want to reduce screen time but have to date increased it dramatically and at the same time devalued the starts required for armadas as the loot for the cardasian armadas do not eqate to what is being spent compared to normal ones. Honestly the big issue is that the devs don’t actually play the game. The testing for these things, from the streamer videos, seems to consist of loading up a server where the user has access to everything and in unlimited quantities. The Armada event points are way too high for two days in a row. Realistic would have been 1200 points (10 uncommon worse case). That’s still 70 minutes of screen time. Right now it’s half a day if you aren’t getting epics or rares.

It's a joke I did the first blew most of my directives, just not going to do this one. Other than not having the directives I just don't have the time. Real life and work are more important. This has been by far the most customer hostile arc. If this isn’t answered for I’m pretty much done with this game.

To me f2p ends at 46, that's the last ship you're getting in a reasonable amount of time. Sure there's a path in G4 past 46s to the next one, but I really don't see f2p players playing that long. That said, that's years of content, free even since you've chosen that path, and the game's pretty enjoyable for that time.

There is a difference between the arc events and the battlepass events. The battlepass events are usually Worm hunting (which is just a hostile hunt), threat something (hunt borg probes or swarm), hostile hunt (arms optional), a mining event, clear the coast (outlaw, arms optional), Unity (alliance helps or donations), and Domination. Of all those events, i would say only Domination might require some sort of spend, IF you have not been stocking ship xp, officer xp or latinum. Those events unlock the battlepass track, which also gives you some tickets to participate in at least one ticket event per week. Plus missions and the overflow, which usually allows you to miss one of the above per month, but not always. All of the above requires zero dollars (unless as noted for domination) to complete and gives you the battlepass rewards.

The other events are sometimes centered around the arc line or new feature, but all of those events are optional. No one has to do them. Most of the time the cost (whether time or mats or other) does not equal the reward, but no one is twisting any ones arm to complete them.

Everything points to Scopely deciding they’ve had enough of free or freemium players saving up for months and playing smartly to unlock important officers or ships.
If you’ve been around long enough you remember officer recruiting was originally dominance scoring, then moved onto mats, then recently they tried a dominance style that doesn’t count ship or officer xp and you couldn’t use mats on ships this way to help score, and now we have this spend or get out method.

Look back at the history of event scoring and see along they way they have kept removing things that people can earn more through play and effort and without purchasing from key event scoring. Officer intel, ship xp, trait xp for away teams, finished away teams ready to be redeemed (now it’s start away teams recently), and so on.

This is likely the new metric for officer sourcing, spend or leave.

understanding the full implementation of gul dukat isn't that cut and dried.. essentially for players under a certain threshold... this paid-only ends up sucking.. on our server anyone under ops 32 this sucks for.. as most could probably get a full unlock including BP spending practically nothing.

then for players in a middle threshold it ends up being a wash.. again for us there are enough spenders from 32-25 (and those spending less in the 36-39) that to get a full unlock on the SLB you'd need two SLBs and likely either save not participating in pass SLBs (not getting those officers) or buying a pack or two. for that middle tier this likely ends up a wash.

then for players in an upper tier.. this is likely much cheaper for them to get a full unlock. basically $600 for t2 which is likely less than they would have spent to win both SLBs in a month.

not saying your frustration isn't warranted.. if you are in that lowest threshold this is probably more expensive than any epic with double SLBs previously.

Here is a few things that i found untill now:

• no event store
• no officer auction
• all events till now are tailord to spending $$$ no balance what so ever. 2 days (seperate events) of cardasian armada. Syndicate you can only score if you spend $$$$. Event requiring ships i could buy with conveniantly $$$ blueprint packs in casshop.
• no riddle events with small rewards.
• almost no hostile events.

All this seems tailord to spend $$$ the balance is just so far gone. You need a telescope to find it back at this point!!

You would have to have a development roadmap and a decent amount of sandbox testing, with content lasting longer than 3 weeks to give time to the teams for any of that to occur.
It’s obvious they wont ever spend the money for that, this game is literally put the least amount of effort into getting the most amount of money from people.

There is no love of the product, there is no dedication to the fan base, there is no actual community-developer relationship to keep things going and in check. You can see these things in other mmo games and see the difference in how things work, how they are fixed, and how the community is involved or at least respected.

Scopley, the sheer number of armada events is awful. Doublely so without a better way to source directives. We should never have to pay $$$ to complete a sms... (even heroic) it's killing players motivation to spend.

This entire arcs pack value is awful to boot even if I was going to spend. No way to get the new officers without spending, events that should have officer shards have none. The rewards are absolutely lacking. You're just dropping mediocre content on us without ryme or reason.

Wtf is the mantis!? Design wise it's cool. Lore wise I'm not sure what it is besides a one of SNW mention of a mantis class ship? The entire mechanic would have been better suites to a section31 or other espionage related faction/ship. Even the augments...

You'd have to kill 7 separatist bosses to get the same points as killing a lvl 40. They just aren't worth killing for events like that, maybe it they had higher level ones, it'd be worth it.

I can score using my Franklin - which at T2/T3 doesn't have the warp range to get to the target system.

I can score with the Kehra (I don't have mine yet)

I can score with 3 ships that I don't even have yet (Disco - ops21, Vahklas - ops22, Kumari - ops24)

I can't score using my NS (primary combat ship)

I can't score using my Jellyfish (secondary combat ship at OPS20)

Or any other G2 Ship....

Tomao explained it well. Essentially in the G2 phase of this game ticketed events have really bad rewards. You're better waiting for an end of arc store - do all of them then. Use the proceeds to buy the Jellyfish, the Northstar and any remaining Franklin BPs you need. Then buy premium recruits with the rest (more shards than buying ultras and arguably just as if not more important at that point in the game since it can give Chen).

The ticketed Alliance event says that you get 100 pts for starting a UC armada. I tried it on a Burial ship, and only got 20. So what the event really seems to be counting is the number of directives spent.
