Another event that isn’t really what it says - it’s not really a starbase mining event it’s a standard lat rush with a few extra pts for a starbase. I calculated our starbase will give 90m pts an hour. My fresha will mine 15m pts an hour and it’s not even that big. Our whales can mine lat/g5 using a couple of ships will out score the starbase

With these Iso Rods there hasnt really been a stretch of time where an event that awarded them and an event that used them really exhausted the supply of what have earned. So is it ever going to matter not putting them into all three if you do everything daily even if only one will get the better rewards?

Not sure. I am a bit ahead on one and I have 3 to spend though it took me a while to get started. It's extremely opaque and I expect it's designed to make sure everyone has something. Pretty sure if you only put them on one officer you'd have heaps left over and then you'd only get a 33% chance of getting anything at all! Might be worthwhile picking an officer and seeing if 50/25/25 is better than 33/33/33 though the rewards for getting it right would have to be significantly better for it to work out.

Unless it's something like officer shards lol. Say one of Sisko for each, two of Kira and 4 of O'Brien ((assuming he's the spy)

Doing dailies doesn't get you the milestones. Doing additional dailies above what you need to claim all your chests is what gets those MS done, for example I need 260 to get all chests, but 400 points is what completes the event.

Question regarding the Amalgam. I have a Tier 6 Amalgam and started my Plunder runs and had a cargo capacity of 6.63m. As I made multiple runs to the system, the max cargo kept decreasing until my final run it was down to 4.93m. It has done the same thing with base raids where is starts off with a large hold but shrinks after multiple runs with no crew changes etc. What's up with that?

During raid, its normal.

You take your base cargo + a % of the base loot. The more you raid, the less in the base, the less extra cargo you get.

The 6.63 m you show in dock or in space? Do you have a mantis?

There a known bug with mantis user, the cargo research apply incorrectly to any ship when in dock. I d say the correct cargo is probably 4.93.

This morning, ran in morska on lv 28-30 and also on swarm as part of my daily. I activated a 20% damage exo , i.e not ship specific. I m not sure that make sens. We will have less possibility to use rods next month, so we had to choose a spy already. If they introduce new spy next month, when there less event, mathematically it mean it will be nearly impossible to put more rods in one of them.

These are cookie cutter events - you run the same all the time, each arc, just change the officers… it’s ANOTHER example of really poor performance. We make mistakes in the organisation I work for. All event dates are subject to change. If you want to know if the schedule's ever been changed, the edit marker on discord posts will state when it was changed. But you should not assume permanence for anything in the schedule.

This is a shockingly unconventional thing to do. The convention that has been established for month after month is when an epic officer drops, there are a series of 3 auction style events where full and partial unlocks are available. This has been the precedent, with some rare exceptions (like Tendi), that forms the basis of epic Officer recruiting. Deviations from that approach can happen, but they should be communicated BEFORE they occur. This is absurd. In the past, I’ve waited until the last week of a battle pass to compete in the auction to build up materials. Should I abandon that strategy? I was getting quite close to unlocking Sisko, and this event could have put me over. This is not a good way to end the month. I’m usually pretty patient with occasional glitches, scheduling problems, and other issues that arise from managing a popular game. But this is not acceptable.

If we cannot trust that event will run even if it was announced by Scopely twice in game, and not because of technical issues, but because they scheduled incursion events to collide with arc (no idea why they could not run them monday/tuesday for example, it is not like they are tied to weekend for any reason), then why trust them next arc when they release calendar? What if they decide to throw in some colliding events and cancel already announced ones again without telling us in advance, because they got away with it now? What if Khan and Worf auction becomes permanent fixture on third weekend of arc, so we have less opportunities to get the new officers?

Comparing canceling todays auction to drastic changes to an arc that substantially improved playability and engagement is a non-starter. It’s simply not a valid comparison. In what way does cancelling today’s planned for Sisko spend auction actually improve game enjoyability for the players?

This is not a good take. Changes to a calendar should always be carefully considered in view of how it will impact the customer, not the company. I run a business. If I tell a customer something will happen on a certain date, and I need to make a change, I inform the customer and actually tell them what the recourse and the new plan is. It wouldn’t fly for me to stiff the customer and then go radio silent.

However in regards to the mantis - they said right from the start that there will be a free to play path for it coming up. It’s nothing new for a free to play path coming months later. As for the functionality of it…..yeah its not great but the store it brought is. Probably second best officer sourcing in the game (after the original faction store officers) a way to drastically increase your syndicate progression…it wasn’t a home run but also certainly wasn’t a complete failure.

The ST officers are definitely debatable and yes to just dump them without effective counters was bad but the officers themselves aren’t the worst thing in the game. Once they are balanced/better source able i think they will not be so harshly looked on - maybe a c+ grade

The events tho were good, there was alot of them and we got the most event store loot ever with one of the best event stores ever - so how can you say the events were bad? Yes if you didnt have the mantis you lost out but the same goes for the cerriots, amalgam, feesha, ect ect ect when they came out for their arcs. You are always gonna miss out if you don’t buy that month’s specialty ship. Thats nothing new and while you can complain about too much specialty stuff ik game, i dont think you can directly faulty them for charging a premium for new content & giving those who buy it extra throughout the month.

For all that the calendar restructuring during the month the mantis was added was incredibly vast, it also changed remarkably little - hostile grinding events of one stripe became hostile grinding events of a different stripe, timeframes remained approximately similar, and the overall number of events was basically identical once you factored out whether or not the mantis was required. Someone who'd made a rough framework of what to do and when at the start of the month could keep using the same framework afterwards with only minimal adjustments.

It was the same sort of deal for the shift from the Heroic Armada SMS earlier this month, one armada event was replaced with another and shifted by a day or two. This auction change is a whole other ball game, because the epic officers being offered as a reward are not at all interchangeable and the shift from 3 auctions spread evenly over the month for a given officer to 2 that came towards the start of the month is a drastic timing difference.

Yes the event store was fine, the syndicate expansion was not of interest to me because I'm not even near the old cap (which is true for most of the players on my server).

The Mantis as a ship is bad for the game, the officers are completely useless for me and bad game design.

I think people want their Sisko SLB. People want to be able to spend mats and get all the upgrades they were planning to get today with the bonus of potentially unlocking one of the most anticipated epic officers in the game.

To say “to see if we can run a Sisko event…” I mean, Scopely team did “see” that they could easily change the schedule. How many times have they added or changed events after event reset time? I’m pretty livid. The fact that I actually read a schedule, subscribe/read updates, plan my gameplay choices based on the info OFFICIAL SCOPELY gives, only to be f’d over… hard. I was an earlier adopter of the game. I’ll finish arc, probably put up a 7-day shield, and contemplate whether to come back to this game. Because if this is a strategy game, and my strategy gets 💩 on, then what’s the point of giving time and money to this?
