@pseudo rune This incursion was terrible. One of our big players couldn't log in from about midafternoon yesterday through the rest of the event (still can't log in). He had trillions in RSS and was raided (because he couldn't log in to renew his shield), causing our server to lose massively. Not only was one player cheated out of his RSS by Scopely's incompetence, but 1000's of people on our server were cheated out of rewards.

I can't begin to list the other issues with the incursion but having a bug that prevents a player from logging in decide the winning server is ridiculous.

Here are my biggest take-always from this round of incursions.

1. The PvP should never have been forced into 1 system. For over 50s, that system was in deep dark space, you couldn’t see in the system to see if anyone was there, I had no interest in constantly sending a discovery to look into the system -

Solution: PvP points would be scored in SMS for all systems. I am unsure if anyone in their 50s even completed the sms given the restrictions.

2. We found our share of larger players. In fact, one of them allowed me to scoop 60m with the Amalgan scoring somewhere around 900m points per scoop, but to me these points were just too hard to gauge especially since we didn’t have commas on the numbers,

Solution: Reduce the points per RSS raided to fractions of a point.

3. Players excuses - I can’t log in - I can’t shield - I only left for a minute etc, all of these are great while others in the alliance are trying to do battle with level 60 players with our measly level 54 ships. The choice is to not defend and let him get eaten or to spend billions on repairs. I do understand that this is a business. I also do understand that some people horde RSS like nothing we’ve seen, but not 100% of the customer base plays every hour/day.

Solution: How about an Eco-Chip, available in the store, this chip will allow us to “throw” a shield up on a player. Cheerio has the availability of throwing your support on a ship, why not allow us to be able to temporarily shield someone who is having difficulty getting into the game?

There was definitely a strategy shift this time. Our opponent's top players spent almost all of the Incursion on our server, which left us nothing to raid to catch back up when a couple of bigger players let their shield down. Smart on their part, but this exposes a big flaw in the current scoring with attacking being worth 3x defending. This was much less enjoyable than the first one, and I suspect it's going to be worse next time if nothing changes.

Server 36 started snapping at each other in gc when they were behind. We worked together as a server. We were more organized than 36, and had more actives in the event. Despite your greater number of 50+ and older server, we had active members and less unshielded resources so we won. I do agree some adjustments should be made to scoring, especially the pvp kills where you can attack empty bases mindlessly to win.

That makes no sense. The point is to prevent scoring by the enemy. RSS recovery from a teammate who neglected to shield is an important strategy in denying you opponents the opportunity to score. When you have a teammate being raided and you have been defending them for a while the next logical step to take is recovery - "boot & loot".
ALSO - when you're forced to recover RSS from a teammate or a player from your home server you are not earning any points. Effectively taking away your ability to score until that recovery is completed.

Hence 0 attacking of other server and only raiding or attacking your own server there for a loss anyway that is exactly what happens by doing the boot and loot method and then it causes issues after event. So no need for incursion if your just going to only pvp and raid your own server .

well lets be honest. defending is worthless in most cases. as the attackers gain way more points then the defenders ... and then there just needs to be 1 whale who despises his own server to lopside the whole incursion. there is almost 0 you can do about it.

This event was an absolute abomination on server 49. Scopely needs to make players whole.who could not log in, could not shield.due to lag and whos shields dropped randomly.

Neither @pseudo rune or anyone else from Scopley has had the guts to shown thier head today and admit how bad this event is 9r how badly it hurt long time players due to their servers being unable to handle the lag.

Combat would take over five minues to resolve. Shields dropped unexpectedly and the server was all but useless. One players account was even unavailable for even the Developers to log into.

Scopely, time to reset the server back to what it was at the beginning of Incursions and admit you lack the skill to pull this kind of event off.

But yeah. The attacker/defender thing is inideal. My suggestion is just mash everyone into one server for the 24 hours, no split for att/def points. If one server absolutely needs to be home for like, default base positions etc, there could be an incursion prep event as a qualifier for starting position.

Way less enjoyable that the first time around. PVP systems are ghost towns, so no way to score. Server competition boils down to which server will have its whale(s) caught pants down without shields. Basically no targets to raid. I expect the incursions to get worse and worse unfortunately

To be honest I think we have more player participating.
Pb is for the pvp event. Yoruba is range 40 to 44 and we hardly got lvl 40 and 41 players in there on both sides.
Also in Januu for lvl 35 to 39.
Though the gap in levels is not that much the players who just turned 35 or 40 in that fringe just get smashed by the biggest ones.

This has really highlighted the difference between servers with ROEs so strict they have no idea how to PVP, and servers with alliances that regularly fight it out. In our first incursion the other side was present, they just had really bad crewing and tactics. This time around they all just hid under a 24hr bubble and waited out the interuption to their mine and grind. I only got about 10 kills and one base hit all day, and it was enough to place in the leaderboards.

There's this common fallacy that RoE always makes a server weak. It appears to me that a free for all server tends to end up with several players who think they're amazing because they have a high power detroyed stat.
I think the real divider is how organised the alliances are.. with proper wars (ones that last weeks not hours) folks tend to sharpen their PvP crew skills a lot. And that's more on the players and not on whether they have RoE

Also, you need similar level players to give you a challenge. If you've spent enough that you can put mbenga on your ship and still beat everyone, you have no incentive for proper crewing. As some are finding out today..

I'm more drawing a line between strict ROE (no OPC hits, no wars) and what a lot of people call pirate ROE (my server, you are free to hunt OPC or clear off ships that don't belong on that type of node) where you tend to have the more long and drawn out wars.

But that's what whales do, they kill the server. The lower levels they can hit get tired of the constant moments they decide to flex because they got bored. And they can't rack kills against other whales, most of them don't even care about learning proper crewing, every time someone defies them, they just throw more money and level up and tier up ships and buy more ships. Because repairs are expensive and most whales don't really know how to play, mid levels have to shut up and take it until they quit.

But if the pvp range isn't ridiculously large, how to cater to the uber whale that spent 6 digits to level before everyone to throw their weight around?

Obviously speaking as the mid level that can't shake the "I should just quit" feeling.

And the answers from customer support to bullying and harassment?

"You should block the player"

Yes, and people send me the screenshots so I can report and you sit and do nothing. Blocking the player empowers the aggressors, not the victims. The bullies still talk about you and keep going unpunished. And the bigger spender your bullies are, the less they are punished.

If I set a mining exo, my ship has to be in dock for it to activate for that ship. But when it expires, it de-activates for my ship while I'm still out mining (as soon as I reset the node); it doesn't wait to de-activate until I get back to dock.

Right, but like I said, that's the point: they want you to invade. They don't want ppl staying home. That would defeat the purpose of the event. Invaders should always get more points. The real problem is servers that are dead, or turtle. That's what they're going to have to figure out, imo. Think scoply need to look at servers purging their open bases ahead of incursions make the event extremely boring when you get a less active server full of mostly dead accounts. On top of this I think alliances should be locked when the incursion starts. To many just kick the in active memebers to stop the invading server getting points.

The point I was trying to make is this is a server vs server event. Attacking you own server memebrs should in my opinion give negative points. Points should be awarded for defending by hitting the other server members. I see this event going a bit like TC. First few times was fun. Then it gets boring.

I’m responding to the part about locking in alliance members. If you get the server vs. server scoring metric you want, it won’t matter if they’re in an alliance or not. The server would lose points for raiding their own player, so alliances will leave them in so as to keep their numbers up if the player comes back online.

Noon? Incursions run 24 hours from 19:00 in my timezone, 18:00 for most of my alliance. We miss 1 whole evening to complete dailies. The next days those with a job (i.e. all) who do want to participate in the madness will miss most of the events as well, while the rest keeps all ships inside a bubble, desperate for the incursion to end.

It strongly affects the morale not only in my alliance, but nearly the entire server.

They aren't motivated to even try to do the dailies, as enemies 4 to 5 timea stronger send them back to repairs in seconds.

10% of my alliance hasn't been online anymore since the first incursions.
I also noticed that since then we've had plenty of mining spots, so we're not alone in that.

We are obviously in different parts of the world, but I think we agree regardless. A 24 hour period when doing dailies in a normal way makes it easy for the other server to get PvP points is a major inconvenience. If it happens every two weeks, it’s reducing our ability to GROW by 7% unless we change our schedules to fit Scopely’s.

Really enjoyed incursions - our servers were actively raiding and hitting each other. As ever, lag an issue when system became full of ships and bases making it unplayable as ships got stuck in battles, but mostly seemed to work fine. Big issues was at first everyone was staying on their server for the pvp system till everyone started moving around.

Yeh i been shooting Franklins too, as well been completing my own (swarm) dailies just the same lol. It’s simply not that hard or undoable even imo as some portraying it. Thus far we’ve had 2 incursions, and in all fairness my dailies were much much easier then compared when being at war with just 1 single alliance for instance🤷🏼‍♀️

I think it depends what kind of player you are. If you are only able / willing to throw an hour or so at the game a day then these kind of events will kill your ability to do any daily and thus progress.
There are too many folks on here, which represents the less than 50% of the player base, who are passionate and have plenty of time / flexibility. The players who don't fall into that group are the ones that will be demotivated by 24 kill everything that moves events. I'm not a pacifist by any means but I found the incarnation of this event shallow and boring because few folks want to engage.
There's lots of talk about letting folks enjoy their own way of playing but the unfortunate truth is that a carebear won't affect other players by mining and minding their own business, the aggressive ones will pee off the carebears. No playstyle is invalid, but there are risks to the long term health of the game from these kind of events... quite a few players here say there should be more destruction but they forget that the game hasn't been like before so in ways this is going to upset the majority who have become used to it quiet.
If your playerbase is used to the game playing in a certain way, they're not going to find a magic treasure trove of players who want to spend more because they are losing ships.

@pseudo rune I have an idea for fixing Incursions not only this month but moving forward. Here’s the short of it and I can discuss details further if you want more information:

1. Make incursion 48-72 hours
2. SMS 24 hours instead of 12 hrs
3. Make SLBs, ALBs and server contest 24 hours (allowing for best out of 3 game mechanic)
4. Run different SMS events each run (apex, borg, mining Monday, Cerritos Wednesday, faction hunt, etc.)
   4a) SMS completion is at least half required kills to complete
   4b) SMS defense reward buff active grants double to triple loot and more damage for PVE
   4c) SMS attacking server buff increases points to kill (if you need 100 kills, each hostile gives you 3-6 kills per)
   4d) Milestone rewards payout is the highly desirable things in the game (borg active nanoprobes, officer shards)
   4e) Milestone reward tokens to turn in for officers (like in event store)
   4f) Reward tokens also have ship BPs in the reward store.
5. Increase the amount of cross over tokens to match the days (4 for 48hrs, 6 for 72 hrs)

Incursions should be treated like a mini event store and if you have people out there mining and PVEing for great rewards they will be less likely to not partake in this new event. Scopely has the opportunity to fix a great many things that people have been complaining about for years. This also will increase the desire for people to buy incursion tokens but also allows for F2P to have a path to do all the events if they are strategic. It also will allow people to have less screen time in the game and get rewards much faster.

I don’t think there is much wrong with incursions. Only adjusts would be

1. Remove point scoring for the pvp wins for station hits. This will stop spam botters hitting stations to run away with xslb. I would like this to be ship on ship wins counting only.

2. Make it so anyone outside the level range of damage SLB don’t score points in the respective pvp zones. It works ok at moment but whales can come in and claim they are scoring points even outside their own zone. Encouraging that categorised pvp is a good way of ensuring competitive playing field in them zones.

If you’re referring to MC event, just buy directives from event store until you have 10. Use them once per mini-arc, it will save you headaches in future borg mini-arcs

The fact Augurs hit 4 times every round allows you to seriously abuse it. Pike+Moreau+Lnar with a full attack crew in lower decks is doing 150k+700k per shot, so 4x850k against Klingon targets

Sarcasm in the first sentence didn’t transfer well in text and before coffee. Point is snw battleships got 3 officer boost. Are explorers and ints going to get the same treatment in the next arc? And yes I know they are not going to answer this question. Just annoying to give one ship class multiple options and not the others.

Snw was a little special in that sense. Yes I know other officers boost specific ships but snw did this a bit differently. I would expect the next arc to do something different as every arc does. if it’s DS9 those officer boost would probably be aligned to any content coming out with it.
