There are many ways to get more efficiency, I think the biggest and easiest are probably augment favours, artifacts and dolamide primes

Since your efficiency is quite low, even getting a few hundred will make a big difference
So spend a month or 2 focusing on getting dolamide particles, scotty's trident scanner artifact, augment favour for ship parts
It will make maxing all your g5 epics a lot faster

I think it's the 6 missions under the Borg tab with the image of Locutus. They're each 1,000 pattern buffers, and we received 6,000 total pattern buffers, so it's the only thing that makes sense.
