Standard treasury lockboxes are built off of a regular pack and given a multiplier (1.5x) and then they add officers or parts. If your regular packs are already large enough to generate a 1m treasury, then you're still in the f2p tier. These lockboxes have a <1m lat limit and won't provide any mats above G3. To move into the paid tier, you'll need to buy a desealing rod from the cash shop, and future treasuries will be better. Using broken parts to make a desealing rod will not move you out of the f2p tier.

I can only tell you information that was disclosed/discovered. If there's another way, it hasn't been either.

Some players have their spending patterns grandfathered in, and moved into the paid tier without buying a desealing rod. The exact requirements of that are unknown. Some players hoping to move to the paid tier, have spent a lot of money on things that were not desealing rods and remain stuck in the f2p tier.

Something is going horribly wrong in game. I cannot recall my ship and I killed my Q trial hostile, but it won’t clear out. I’ve cleared cache and reset my device multiple times and it has not helped.

because the highest pointing system where players that didnt spend money was the 59. giving 21 points per kill while the hullburning only allows for 2-4 hostiles per hull. and there were hundrets of players in 1 system, fighting over a few hostiles at the same time, because the players have a limited timespan during the day

Arenas just plain bites, good idea but in the hands of Scopely it's a botched poorly executed event that is a waste of time.

they've improved quite a bit from when they released. Sure, there are still some issues with how matches get paired, client-side lockups, and lag but generally Scopely has done a fair to decent job getting things semi-stable from the original rendition.

if anything, arenas shine a spotlight on differences between people that spend on PvP-centric packs and how it's created an almost insurmountable gap for the F2P to overcome.

I can appreciate the difficulty of calculating scoring in an SMS or SLB given the way arenas seem to function. Because arenas operate like a transfer token during incursions, the instance where people battle exists on its own little island. With Incursions, you're only collecting data from two servers for the SLB (invaders and defenders) but with Arena there are many mini-servers feeding that point scoring.

I'd be interested to hear why you view the feature as a failure. Several folks in our alliance played heavily in arenas when it released. The mechanic was a nice change of pace over standard 24 hr events. Scopely did a nice job taking input from the playerbase to tweak and improve things, which included tightening matchmaking and trying to address some of the serious lag issues. It's not perfect, but it's fun for people that like to PvP. The biggest issue is that spenders hold a serious advantage over free or cheap to play, and even there strategy and skill can overcome someone with a tantalus or slipstream

its the average ops matchmaking criteria, probably one of the worst metrics they could use

Does it suck to go against someone with a rarity or even generation above your ships? Yes. Does it mean you're immediately screwed? No. The matchmaking can only account for so much. I've seen Ops67 players running a Sanctus as their strongest ship, so it's not like Ops is a clear determiner of a player's account. They had to pick something to match us. Do I think it could use tweaks? Sure, but it's not broken so bad I can't still have fun.

A better design is an open system type arena for ops groups. No teams. No matching. A dozen players Que up and go play king of the hill style. With the armadas.
So anyone who joins knows they will always be in their weight class

Sometimes it’s fun. But I get matched with the biggest only. I do everything in my power to get some points, but you don’t understand how hard it is fighting the biggest players in game. I don’t complain about it. I just feel bad for non 70`s who end up facing panda and whoever he chooses to add to his team 😂

Using a match making system is just lazy. They should have done it right the first time

I've been the victor in too many matches where I was in with 58-62 players and we matched against 64-68 players to say that the power discrepancy alone makes it a bad design. Are you going to lose against strong accounts when those people are good strategists? Yes, without a doubt. If I played basketball against LeBron I'm pretty sure it would be just as lopsided. That doesn't make the game itself flawed, it means you're playing outside your capabilities
