The "why" is actually semi-simple, though I actually didn't know until I asked someone to explain it to me.

1. Those rewards are intended. They are there for players who have skipped past/have not finished research that still requires them.
2. If they were removed, they wouldn't be replaced with G6 mats, because of their intended purpose (above).

This helps to ensure players have what they need to progress, regardless of where they are at in their journey.

With that in mind, we need a material converter that's always available, not token based - just on a timer, so we can upscale our millions of previous gen mats. Or G5 scrapping without huge changes to how scrapping works. Those mats need somewhere useful to go besides inventory piles :).

But please, let it be more like the Revenant loop and not the Relativity one.
Revenant Armadas are great, because the starter gets most of the loot and stronger players can help smaller ones. And also the Revenant is a great ship with a fair upgrade mechanic.

I did one, solo, a couple weeks ago, with a level55 rottie. Bridge officers : Harry Mudd, Harcourt Fenton Mudd, Eurydice. Battle lasted over 10 rounds, hardly took any hull damage. Alliance owning said Starbase has over 50 players, rannging from g4 to g6. At the time I was ops60 530M power, rottie just under 2B T11. You can tell by those figures that I don't have that many p2w Primes, but I do have almost all of those which can be achieved as f2p. Yeah, Alliance Starbase go-home gun 🤔

Im ops 66 and the heroic event today for the new hostiles want 5760 points. Which is impossible at the moment its thousands of hostiles. To complete the event would require many hundreds kf pounds kn packs. Now lower ops need 40 points. Thats doable. So lower ops can make more progress in this arc than I can.

Do the devs know there own game? Do they assume every ops 66 can spend spend spend.
