If youre going to slow roll to 66 then get one to T9 just for the cube, but even at that, provided your G5E and specialty ships are good you can still just skip the G6U all the same.

If you were around in the good old days of getting half a ship in the battlepass or in the store, that's long gone. The current ship acquisition "meta" is buy the full ship to get it fast, or get it via a 100 day drip F2P (assuming you don't miss a day).

Revenant Refinery is really good source for resources and helps fill out some chaos tech via drip.

You're misusing the crew. By punching too low, you restrict the amount of rewards you get while still having the same chance of losing to the death ray.

Look at how much hhp your ship has outside of docks. The easiest way to find this is to hit a small target and look at your battle status report. Then consult that infographic posted above, and select a target where you have enough hp to win.
