Using the same ciphers for both types of solo waves seems like a mistake. If you can’t match your performance in the regular waves when doing the elite, you lose out on a TON of resources. Effectively having to decide between leveling the GS31 or getting resources and unlocking things in the S31 store, because you realistically can’t do both, and at tier 1, the GS31 gets destroyed in the second wave in an elite solo wave.

Keep in mind that Tier 4 requires you to be at least G5 to claim the GS-31 Warp Core, and Tier 10 requires you to be G6 to do the same. And remember—when you reach a new tier, you also gain access to the parts for lower player segments.

Translation - You need somewhere around tier 8 or 9 before the ship doesn't go boom in the 60 elites.

I’m fairly certain the entire company’s mostly finance and management, being told from the investment firm that owns them that every week should pay out higher than the previous one.

About 1/10 developers know how the game really works but having decent infrastructure for testing and live ops costs money/resources so they have to do it with as little as possible.
They either have 0 analysts or let the devs do analysis and have no team dedicated to back-end database management. If they did, we’d notice and the clutter from our inventories would be gone

My reasoning for this: in the 3 years+ I’ve been playing I’ve yet to encounter a proper release of a feature. They sometimes fix some things but usually don’t even mention it in the hopes players will be more frustrated over the next more annoying thing.

Oh and I also believe they have more employees working on player emotions/predictions/patterns than they have developers.

Anyone else wonder about this "Weakened State" effect? The ship ability "casts" the State as well as doing the damage on the "x" number of hostiles or players.... but it SEEMS that the only way to have that "state" DO anything is by doing the research....
Which is fine EXCEPT when you read the research descriptions the ONLY research that effects Hostiles is the Beam damage amplifier specifically for wave hostiles ...
Any "State" research specifically says against PLAYERS ....
So what is the point of applying a "state" that seemingly does NOTHING to hinder/effect the hostiles that it doesn't destroy????

At ops 65, from various sources, I probably have around 2500% ship mats efficiency. The new ship's efficiency is good - for a level 40.... Maybe. If they could get the research maxed.

Oh I always take a look at spocks Club to measure the impact. Just Had a random cost calculation with 1298%bonus at 1.03m costs to 1448%bonus at 930 costs. About 10% real cost reduction in that case for example.
Got No sync in mobile but will Test on PC tomorrow with real data how much the difference will be.

Its good not to assume when u have such powerful Tools doing the Scopely math for you

The difference between the cost your saw before and after changing the efficiency would be greater than the additional 0.7% reduction.

i even tried using the new ship in the Elite 45 solos and still died on wave 2. the beam fully upgraded dont even dent them, esecially when it gets a penalty for hitting higher level ships than your ops level. and the ability has a 6 minute cooldown meaning it is a 1 trick pony per wave. also the debuff it does on the ships does nothing

Another thing, you have to tier up the ship and the damage bonus is added like the cube.

Lv1-5 is the same bonus. You need lv6 to hit the next level of damage for the ship for said special hostile.

Then 11, 16, etc.

I understand the person that designed this arc always had to design a ship to sell month 2 due to Scopely’s management decisions, but the testing as to wether the ship is actually useful out of the box or even a good deal got completely skipped. Revenant at least threw mats at you and could kill the necessary hostiles and armadas. Relativity let you complete events and move DTI along even in its initial borderline useful state only for Krenim formadas. This ship was advertised for parts and solo elite waves and it fails spectacularly in both fronts. Can’t even help earn more end of arc currency like the previous ones.

They do this to ensure it’s possible to win. You aren’t expected to win day one, according to game design. Live Ops creates the events and they didn’t get the message. Blame Live Ops.

we get 100 Ciphers on a 3 day cooldown
To upgrade the ship we can only do Elite Solo waves
Thats 1 Elite solo wave every 3 days and most people will only be able to clear wave 1/5 from low end accounts
That means you cannot do any normal Solo waves so no favors or tech/artifact/officer upgrades from the Faction Store
It also means you will only be able to pull 1 chest from the new Refinery to upgrade the ship once every 3 days

They're just totally busted unless you're whaling your way through them. You essentially have to be ops60 to do the lvl50 waves, and then need ops 70 to do the lvl60 waves.

This is fine. You don't have to get the new ship any more than you have to be level 70 tomorrow. But with arc-after-arc designed for 40-60 we have an arc that scales in difficulty enough that level 70s are getting their ships exploded before the end of it, and that's great for all the higher-level accounts who could use a challenge to keep the game alive for them.

Personally, I'm a high-level account getting my rear kicked in the 60s and it's nice to have content again. They're "elite" waves, after all, so if you aren't ready for them that's fine because you have the other waves you can do until you are and you still get the S31 income.

At tier one, it's good to help a 40 push a little. It's meant to progress with you as you level up. However if you've already leveled up then it needs to be tiered up quite a bit to match the level of hostile that you're expected to hit. The further from 40 you are, the more out-of-balance it will be and more it needs to be tiered up.

All specialty/arc ships are like this.

This one just feels dramatic worse. Getting the ship while in G4 I'd doubt it'll survive 1 round of the elite 45 solo waves.

I think several round, if you've gotten the rares tiered up well and have the debuff active on the Reavers. That's the other thing: there's two types of hostile in those waves and it's the Reavers that kill you hard. That's where the debuff comes in. But it's only good for one wave, so it might help you get through wave 3 or 4 but you're stuck with 5.

The lvl45 elites only have 3 waves. And a G4 player isn't going to be finishing them.

So they hit insanely hard and take almost no dmg.

And my favours are T3 so 75% shred from those.
