No special ships or crews - just use the best of what you've got. You'll find that for trellium collecting, killing hostiles is far more efficient than mining.

Not sure, I'd suggest making your way into the MU, killing a hostile in each system you enter, and just stop when you find a system with the right risk vs. reward for your ship

at a 45 zone or a 50 zone youll die first hostile

Keep in mind that you'll get loot chests for each hostile you kill - half or more of your trellium rewards come from that rather than cargo in your ship's hold

start off by doing this:

• Loot crew - if you dont die in the time alotted then you swap to SPEED crew

on T9 Valdore i run Ent Riker, Ent Data, Kuron

and i kill nonstop for 20min

i get about 20k trellium per run

when i first started with valdore T6 i got about 10k per run

every hostile gives you 1 loot box with 100 trellium in it

focus on the research for loot boost in mirror branch

6 is much better than Gorkon as the 3rd seat with SM vs non-borg armadas because mitigation can prevent 70% of your damage and 6 will quickly drop that. hull breach is nice but can go on a crew with a lower damage ceiling than sisko/miles.

CJ7 (or CJT depending on firing patterns, officer tiers, etc) can also give even SM6 a run for its money, especially if you're somehow at the same tiers on both crews.
