Some parts of G5 a nicer now, but the new Xindi loops are a significant downside to some of the early levels.
It's not fun to finally get to 53, build the shipyard and get that shinny new G5 UC, only to find it's crap for the things they expect you to do. Gotta get it to T4, T5 maybe even 6 before you are back in a sweet spot

I used to love the pvp in the game before the ops caps were raised over 40 and it has only gotten more unbalanced

Its the imbalance and broken mechanincs. In fact what we call pvp in STFC is not pvp, the mechanics are so bad. A true pvp game has matchmaking, bracketing, and both players are opting in to the battle - this is the same in every other pvp game I have seen. STFC is 99% folks hitting miners and ships infinitely weaker than theirs or afk. This is NOT pvp in any real use of the term. There needs to be risk in an encounter to be engaging pvp content. Scopely has failed miserably at that aspect. Incursions is the closest thing they have to real pvp, and I enjoy some aspects of that event each month.

Lets be honest, most the folks that like the current pvp setup are griefers and enjoy the trolling. If Scopely put in engaging pvp parameters and setup, things like the War Room would have been 1000% better recieved. They need to fix the system before trying to push more pvp to happen.

Since they never / can never / will never fix the imbalance.. They just need to add some sort of downside for attacking someone far weaker, engaged in an Armada, or whatever other mechanics.. So it's still POSSIBLE, but there's some downside that comes along with it.
