A couple of the new officers are near a rank for me, a third amalgam to help on Incursion days. They added some G5 ships that I already have. But I see a Sanctus cloak. Expensive though.

The event store is pretty trashy, but it goes hand in hand with the "greed" changes they've been doing regarding officers. No more guaranteed rare officers with the BP elite track and ticketed events where officer shards are locked behind either paying up or doing 9 ticketed events in one weekend to get some shards off the rare event.

Ticket events during event store months not rewarding mats has been standard for years now and was the reason I have did not push my ops to go into the 5* range as I thought I would be short on 5* mats, and I'm sure I'm not the only one, while others (far more poeople) will have saved f2p tickets for months on the assumption they could get as much event store currency as possible for ships etc that they don't have.

I got Tpol purely from events and spending 2 tickets a week. Shran I had to rely on the extra syndicate event run they did for changing the archer SLB. I have reliably been able to get rares for a fair while now, which certainly wasn't the case before when it seemed they were passing everyone to buy the officer pack

what good things got added? I'm happy they're adding F2P sourcing of primes but the silent loop is darn near impossible at certain ops and 3 grinds in 3 months is unlikely to go over well especially with the known issues with some mobs. The constant technical issues also make it easy to use the "quality over quantity" statement as a cudgel. Certainly not everything is bad but this isn't exactly a great start to the year for STFC.

At least the ticketed events pay out more mats and rss than what a conversion from event store tokens would be. I am actually more happy that there are rss/mats and not event store currency, as the event store does not have enough interesting stuff in it so I would not join the ticketed event if they had only event store currency.

Five years in and this is a new low Scopely. For shame.

The issue is a 55 CAN kill the silent ships but NOT enough of them for a double pull. So we are falling way being the 56-60s with their D'Dex and Sanctus. We’ve known for a long time that the maximum efficiency mats path for leveling is to save-jump approximately between new-ship levels. Time your strongest ship to be at T4/5 for the jump and you’re golden. Throughout the history of this game, it’s never been necessary to do more than that.

When they started changing the mats spend payout to heavily undercount uc/rare and emphasize epic…in hindsight that was a signal we were about to get hammered. Because the only place to really spend epic mats is upgrading at high ship tiers.

So it’s all a simple story…these new hostiles are explicitly to slow down Ops progress and increase spending at lower Ops. As a side benefit, they don’t have to roll out new content as fast because…well…everyone will move slower.

But there’s an upside to this. Xindi/Silent is completely skippable and you can always come back to it when you’re stronger. As a 52 I’m not even bothering looking at it until I build a 56. You won’t actually miss out on anything…

My issue with the Epic 4* is the sheer faction credit cost. Just feels out of place compared to what a 5* UC needs. Otherwise I'd have grabbed one at 50, probably Ent-A since I don't really have a good 4* explorer. Honestly glad I was able to reach getting a 5* UC before this arc as it's completely doable to double chest in 1 run if I juice up. But did make sure I won't push 55 till my Talios is ready, cause the rare needs to push past T4 UC 5* is painful

All of the numbers for the borg cutting beam are known, and you can scan hostiles for their hhp. There isn't any variance so you should be able to mathematically determine if you are getting the correct bonus.

if you are not in top of your bracket, just ignore that refinery. There is no workable solution for it. Even if you can get crew/research, it does not mater as those systems are token locked. You cannot got with ship kill 1-2 hostile and come back to the system. It is just broken for all lower bracket players

That's a good point. It is kinda weird that WD is getting that error from this update. As far as I know they don't really have much to do with each other.

Maybe they accidentally added silent hostiles , like Q trials had (have for some xD), to WD but the WD code brings up error bc it doesn't recognize the hostile ? (I'm no programmer just my thoughts )

I'm not a coder or techie so I could certainly be off base but if they used version tracking it also shouldn't be this hard to see where the issue is originating from by testing the various builds on a test server. Solving it is another issue obviously but the list of things they added this arc isn't that extensive

Your observation is right - things have gotten significantly worse the past few months - as if the (relatively) good teams are no longer on the game.

parallel teams are indeed a given but normally they use version tracking so they don't reïntroduce bugs/overwrite important code

You can see it when playing the game…there are at least three big chunks of code that are not properly synchronized with each others…when even the client doesn’t know where the ship you just tapped on is…you’ve got problems that will manifest in all kinds of unexpected ways.

My assumption is it's related to the issue that started increasingly popping up last arc with waves not progressing. I wouldn't be surprised if the bugfix "Fixed an issue with Wave Defense – Waves wouldn’t progress and Player ship got stuck on Wave Defense screen." or "Fixed an issue with Wave Defense – The rewards popup showed 9/10 instead of 10/10 after the Wave Defense is completed" are related to the current issues

I’m at something like 3000% weapon damage…an extra 135% is essentially a rounding error. And it would mean starting a fresh skill tree all over again.

I’m not suggesting to not do it…just saying I don’t see the point in myself making any real effort.

yup your yields will certainly vary and I'm unsure how much I'm at myself but as a near F2P G4 I'll take any boost I can and I'm maxed on useful kirk/spock/locutus stuff for my FC building anyway

1/(1+%) is extremely common as a formula

it's the world's most basic diminishing returns formula and it's used because linear returns is anathema to game design in almost all cases

the mitigation formula for this game is something that's actually complicated at all
