People will quit over anything--quitters because the game is "stale," or because it changes. You really can't avoid it either way, but broadening the appeal by including more IP brings new players in addition to creating quitters. It is lore & art-accurate, and it is undeniably Star Trek.

Okay, I'm going to say it: it's not Star Trek. It's a really bad cartoon that has nothing to do with Star Trek except that someone slapped the IP on it because even less people would care about it otherwise.

Calling Lower Decks Star Trek is like calling Tremors a Dune movie because both have Sandworms.

However, that is not why I dislike it in the game. I don't have a problem with Discovery being in the game even though that show is even worse at being a Star Trek show. But it visually fits the rest of the game.

Im annoyed with incompatible artstyle. Now game contains 2 art styles. It just looks and feels wrong to see proper realistic-ish photos next to cartoon image. This creates inconsistency between portraits (also event images). Human brain usually prefers visually consistency. There is no going around it. I would be fine if they "backported" cartoon images to match artstyle of the game. It is possible

When I design backend software, I use what database is suitable for task, and if needed I need to backport ideas to work in current framework of system, which sometimes is challange but works for greater good of software.
I don't use MariaDB and MongoDB at same time for sake of XYZ. I chose one approach and stick to it.

As an art director and graphic designer, I have done a few coorperations with clients and e.g. Disney and Minions etc. I have the corporate design manual of Winnie the Pooh with me. This is a file order of about 9cm thickness. The manual tops in its strictness just about every industrial company I have come across so far. It clearly states what is a "Yes" and "No" in the artwork. A clear "No" is, if you insert something into the defined world of Winnie the Pooh, which does not correspond to the optics and content of his world. These are basic elements of design. If you merge such 2 worlds, then it must not happen so clumsy and copy-paste, as scopely celebrates it. That is simply amateurish. I feel sorry for the graphic designer who had to do this.

All I got to say about the lower deck crap is that it is just that crap. Powerful ? As for the lower deck ability that’s just a half ass fix to how the officers abilities is supposed to be working from the start of the game. Ps the last arc was way better. This one I have no interest in I find it lame and stupid. I'll give you the artwork complaint. Lower deck before was simply a place to toss heroes for stats. Now, with the added bonus of spicing up the lower deck. I'll be perfectly honest, I never even look who's in the lower deck up till now. If you don't want the cartoons on your ship...sweet you just gained some extra away teams.

OBrian, Odo several others sole purpose was life in the lower deck. This mechanic will give more heroes a chance to shine.

But what finally did it for me was as follows
I'm level 35 and my daily goals are to mine 4 star gas I can't achieve this goal as I need to be level 38 to even mine 4 star gas
Why make daily goals impossible to achieve if the objective is to engage the player.
There seems to be a massive disconnect between the player and the developer.
I understand that the game needs to make money. But the cost of upgrades is too high.
This game tries and fails to sell itself as put the time and be rewarded. But you don't really advance unless you invest a lot real money. I don't mind paying for a game
But what you are asking for is purely ridiculous. You might make more money if the buy ins are less expensive.
Every update (like the treasury or New space dock) seems like a cash grab.

The game is fun to play. But you need more focus on the long time players instead of short term cash grabs

There are more paths than you realize in completing daily goals. Nyrheimer and Makala exist for sub 38 miners in need of G4. And reducing faction makes your mining goals lower, ie. g3. Excessively increasing your rep can lead to situations like you describe, but that can be fixed if you want.

Look, I appreciate the F2P route to attempt to get these officers Scopely, I really do.... but the fact that they always require spending materials that the refinery drip feeds you is becoming tiresome.

If you're going to keep doing these events, fine, but for the love of cake either remove the RNG of the refinery and allow us to make the decision on what materials the refinery gives us, or fix the drop rates and re-do the math for the chests.

If I spend 75k raw materials for a 3 chest, I should be getting at a minimum NOTHING but Uncommon drops. Especially when the 3 chest value is 3x over the 2 chest.

Give us the option to input 75k, and let us select what mats we want/need.

sometimes I wonder why I play this game. the lag has been so horrendous for a while now and doing a simple event like the xslb with very few people in system we have game issues where screens freeze for a good 2s between screens, button have to be pushed multiple times just to show they are doing something, the syncing of where ships are. I mean seriously this is basic game stuff. why the.... can't the devs I don't know properly supply the hardware needed to support basic game functions. that or optimize the code to actually run. and no I don't have a bad connection. I have a fiber 1gb connection with a 8ms ping to game. it's game server lag not me. not to mention everyone's been complaining about this for years and it's only gotten worse.

That's a disparity, and honestly makes customers want to, and in a lot of cases actually stop playing the game. Right now, on the server where I play there is a level 44 player who knows that he has spent so much money on this game, that he can honestly slaughter whole alliances on the server. Now, that type of whale'ism is the reason why said server's population is lower because free-to-play players have been driven away from not just the server, but the game as a whole. If this game is only going to be fun for those that can pay 100s and 1000s of dollars, then say so in the advertising for the game. Don't try to feign free-to-play when you know that the game isn't going to be fun for those free-to-play players who were unfortunate enough to be arbitrarily be placed on servers with ridiculous levels of whale'ism.

So what is the point of this. When there is a event that promotes pvp and the fun of maybe seeing how strong or far you have come along. There is no point cause the level at range is dumb. Only 45-60 are showing up cause they know they can take out 10-20 level 30-40s before they get caught or blown up.

For 3* ships, your best damage output is going to be an augur with riker, geo/nero and Tyler. If you can pair up with a friend, run riker, Tyler, khan, and have them run geo/nero to boost your damage even more.

Done right, a t8/9 augur can out-damage uc and rare 4* ships on a per-hit basis after about 10 rounds on deep space armadas.

Firstly, for Android tablets (maybe iPads as well, I don't have one so I can't say), you REALLY nned to change the scaling of the game
Every so often when the chat rotation bug occurs, instead if buggering the aspect ratio the game ends up scaling to a different DPI and, honestly, it's like a breath of fresh air - unfortunately as soon as you switch to a different app and switch back, it reverts to the standard DPI which feels even worse than usual after experiencing a better option (even briefly)

I will attach screenshots to demonstrate the night-and-day difference thst a different dpi scaling makes to the game

Secondly, you need to add more in-game diplomacy markers - the 3 options we have now are severely lacking, especially as there's only one option for enemies
Something like this would be way better:

Heart = allies - alliances you're really close to, like if you have a NAP with them
Thumbs up = friendly - alliances that you are, well, friendly with
Vulcan symbol = peaceful - alliances that are generally ok

Thumbs down = unfriendly - idiots and troublemakers
Target = enemies - arseholes/the ones you'd fight against in territories/you might spank their PvE warships as you go past

Most tablets and phone have some of the highest resolutions screens, better than any PC monitors. Yet the focus on the pc version of the game. Here we go again with old errors all of the sudden reappearing in the game. Connection errors are at an all time high. Players are leaving the game in droves due to: 1) game crashes and constant errors, 2) game support, 3) content. Does Scopely even realize when players constantly have bad experiences with a game they will play less, or just quit the game. If players are playing less, or quitting, this means less revenue for Scopely. My playtime has drastically decreased in the last couple months, and unless game errors are start being fixed, I will just leave the game. Bad experience after bad experience just means, delete the app and play something else. By the way, for the last month I’ve stopped putting money into the Scopely bank.

@tacit obsidian So I have noticed an issue/trend where when you purchase a pack to help complete an event, the pack doesn’t show up in a timely manner and mayo cause you to lose the event (I’m currently dealing with this myself, I purchased the away team Speedup pack and still have not received it) and when I submit a ticket with the receipt from my bank showing purchase, they say it will be up to 48 hrs before a reply.

With the Exocomps, some of them require you to dock your ship before they take effect
When you go to activate them, you get a warning that pops-up - great
But if, say, you realise that you don't now want to activate it (say because you can't easily get your ship back to your base), there's no way to cancel/change your mine

If the warning if there, it should act as a confirmation, similar to when you use a Transwarp token

I’ve been playing since November 2018. Love the game, when it worked. Playing on an iPad that has the force quitting issues. 3x in 5 minutes when it’s bad, and in a busy system like a territory being contested I’d have to play on my phone that I can barely see otherwise it is seconds between force quits. Now, if it doesn’t quit, I get sent to a screen where my last chest pull shows up. For pvp, that usually means I’m dead before I get back to the game screen. I’m a grinder mostly, but will spend here and there. With the game being so buggy, I haven’t been able to justify spending beyond the 20.00 battlepass in months. And now with pvp shot and the tags messed up on reds and players, I can’t even rationalize spending the 20 on such a shoddy product, it’s become unplayable. As long as your event store is empty you will run into it.

This was over an hour ago and I have zero event points. The Recruit Mariner event was broken back on April 16. Is this déjà vu?

I have a max discovery with Paul Stamets (C), Culber, and Origins Stamets as the bridge crew (for reduced costs). Never had a problem jumping or summoning (even before the ship was maxed).

You can at least do a research after refining for few days. But to get 200 rare it's absolutely ridiculous that you've to run 100 uc armada, is that a joke or what?

I believe a change needs to be done on awaypoint chest, getting only three bps for 18000 plus points is kind of a rip-off when you can get 4 for less points if you get one per day

The same mechanic applies to borg refinery and standard refinery, just saying

You either get them for cheap, one BP at a time, or you pay a bit more and get more at a time

The limited time event SLBs are incredibly unfair in the bracket 28+. There is no way to compete against the top players of the server at 43+.
These events would be much more enjoyable if the bracket was smaller, i.e matching the event brackets (27-30)

The rewards are also ridiculous for 38+ players. There is no need for them to compete at all, but especially now, they will just do researches to spend resources for the Mariner SLB 😦

I know this will fall on deaf ears. I’m an OPS 55 player, and I’ve spent an undisclosed amount of $$$$ on this game for enjoyment and entertainment. For the last 3 to 4 months, I’ve observed, through SS on many alliance discords, representatives of the company that runs this game; berate players, blame a players device, or use “it’s a 3rd party” excuse with most issues pertaining to the game. I’m personally not enjoying the game any longer with all the crashes, bugs, mainly due to bad code writing etc etc etc……It’s more frustrating to play than ever, and just not worth the aggravation. I would delete my account, but guess what, that doesn’t even work. Not surprised, as they need the activity numbers for their quarterly reports to their directors. No more rewarding this company for its incompetence. Thought of the day: if I was an owner/manager of a company whom relies on its customers’ $$$ to support their endeavours, and had employees/contractors who were consistently incompetent at providing that product/service to a satisfying standard with the customer, what would I do with them? I know the answer.

The Scopely Support is the WORST... For the 3rd time now, a Ticket gets closed without addressing the problem and only giving a flimsy answer. @tacit obsidian Support is an incompetent bunch. This need to be addressed since they are the cause for all the extra tickets being logged and/or players just leaving the game - since their issue/concerns are not being resolved.

I logged a ticket because the PC Client does not have the ability to claim the daily Officer Transponder token in the Gifts section, but I do see it on the Andriod client. I know they are working on this (I got feedback on this in the PC Bug reports - after I logged a second ticket - First ticket got closed on a totally unrelated response too). But still the Support team is unable to give me the same feedback. It is clear to me that the Support team does not bother to read the issue reported by us since this is the third time this happened to me

So you're filing tickets you know the answer to in order to judge if a CS agent gives you the same answer every time? It seems to me that doing this causes extra tickets for no useful reason
