There's also the simple fact that Leslie actually only became useful at the higher end because Scopely broke other aspects of the mechanics due to simple incompetence. The right way to deal with this would have been to fix that mistake, not compound it by nerfing Leslie. Fix the CAUSE not the symptom. That's basic troubleshooting. If anyone doesn't understand that, they shouldn't be anywhere near software development. Or any form of engineering.

• Seriously? Events BP used to be 99.99 and 19.99. Now it's 99.99 and 49.99. (Means I will never buy another battle pass again)
  -Yesterday I had a "EVENT BP TOKENS" given that put me having completed like 9 levels of the BP. now today, I'm down to 0. And after completing 2, I cannot claim them. They just sit there with the Green Checkmark.

The saddest thing for me is that after opening my first account years ago, this is the first time that I have zero interest in completing events or challenging on leaderboards.

The event store is the worst I have seen! The fact recurring events can be be bugged so badly is actually unbelievable that a company can get it so wrong but I think the worst of it is that it’s obvious that no one involved in running this game actually cares.

I really like I'm in a gaslighting relationship whenever I read the recent news posts for this game.

You had "A recent refactor of the games buff system to allow future growth and dynamic interactions across the game", but couldn't get an established mechanic in properly? And I'm supposed to trust future mechanics to work, or officers to not get randomly nerfed?
You're trying to provide "as close an experience as possible" and got some form of Leslie's ability working, but not above 51, which is TEN LEVELS below your new arc cutoff. And the solution is a tiny adjustment to a single hostile daily event?

And all of this after multiple posts about ~"officer abilities not working as intended in outposts and other modes", with no clarity on what's broken and no indication of whether those issues have been addressed, so I have no idea if there's even any point in testing officers against the new hostiles.

I posted this in my alliance Discord, but felt it might matter here. Truly doubt it, but I'll toss on a tag in the hopes that you take the time to read it. Won't make a difference, but what the heck.

I bought the Excelsior specifically to be able to complete the additional challenge that you get for owning the ship and killing fighters daily since this was to be a source of sigma credits for me, and, upon achieving t10 and completing research, the Excelsior CAN be used just on fighters to complete all VGer dailies.

Then they added VGer Orion hostiles, unkillable, making it so I can't complete the bonus track I paid a hundred bucks to unlock and I was frustrated as hell, but I didn't quit since I could use the Leslie team and die 10 times but still finish the track.

Then they upped the strength on the 70+ Gorn, which couldn't be killed using the Leslie strat, and again I couldn't complete my bonus track, but this was a ship power issue so I leveled my Ent-E up to the point that I can now kill everything.

Then today they made the ONE officer that made killing VGer Orion hostiles possible at 69+ only effective on sub-51 mobs so I can again no longer complete my bonus track, but this time I literally have no recourse. So I'll try to kill an Orion the next time it's up for the daily, and, failing that, I'll delete my account, as I'm done with Scopely. Love y'all, hate these predatory *****.

Claiming rewards shows what will be received for the rewards then we hit done and it still says claim is available even after restarting and downloading update. Also after updating the game some players are unable to log back in and have to reinstall the game all together. Main issue being that claim not going away no matter how many times clicked and unable to see events due to this.

The dev team puts stuff out there, and doesn't consider how it will be affected in the future. Much like the original affect of PMC not being intended to be as effective as it is, we didn't know what to do. In this case players were progressing in ways we didn't expect, because the player base is more clever than our devs are.

As such, in spite of our poor planning, we've changed how the officer's ability works. This is regrettable, but necessary and we have to do it because reasons. This will continue to happen, like it has before. We appreciate your patience lol.

We also made an adjustment to Leslie’s Captain’s Maneuver, Minor Damage Control. Prior to the update Leslie was a marginal officer with very low usage, but has been exploding in popularity, not through intended changes to his power, but through a technical challenge in translating his abilities to the new world. A recent refactor of the games buff system to allow future growth and dynamic interactions across the game required us to alter how Leslie’s ability functions and had an unintended effect.

We can not reverse this Captains Maneuver to the prior state and worked to deliver as close an experience as possible. This has disrupted intended Faction Reputation progression and created an impact far beyond what was designed. We have spent time working through how to best preserve the original benefit and previous impact but could not find a suitable option.

Also on the note of G5 scrapping. As you build your ship, the efficiencies are lower so it costs a lot more, but when you scrap the ship it goes off the higher efficiencies. Which doesn't make sense. This is not a second hand car that depreciates with value.

The Leslie NERF looks driven by profit, not bug resolution or addressing player satisfaction…..

More Scopely math. With a good crew and every boost I can get, I can pull about 400 Academy Loot Stuffs per hull/token used. But the lowest level refine takes 6,000 Loot Stuffs. So I need to run FIFTEEN times, of something around 600 hostiles for just one pull, that gets you less than 25 percent of the stuff you need to level the building once? Why even have this Free to Play at all? Who has time for it? Lets not even talk about the difficulty ramp: Lvl 61 ACAD ~5B power. Lvl62 ACAD ~120B power. as a fresh 70 i used my Relativity to beat lvl 70 Orions without any hull lost.

Locking officers out based on hostile level makes no sense. It breaks gameplay consistency and undermines any sense of immersion! there’s no logical reason an officer’s abilities should suddenly stop working just because the target crosses an arbitrary level threshold.

These kinds of changes don’t improve the game, they make it feel more restrictive and less coherent.

Please revert these changes and find some imagination instead of applying limitations like this.

Been a busy week so I’m getting caught up on the scopely shenanigans.

Doing the math… I compared G6 rare given out in a level 71 BP. I compared the old BP format ($20 for Free and Elite paths) versus the new BP format ($50 for Free, Elite and Mythic).

Bottoms line: The old $20 BP gives the same amount of mats as the new $50 BP. Mythic doesn’t give you more value, just more cost. A 250% increase.

Comparing just the $20 spend point… The new 20 BP only gives 63% of mats the old BP did.

So, no more spending for me until this is restored AND the lost value of this months $20BP is returned.

The change to the BP and removal of the overflow is one of the worst changes I have encountered in the game from a light spending player. To takeaway the free treasury being earned every 3-4 months to now probably 7 -8 months is not encouraging me to spend, quite the opposite.

The pathetic rewards from events to a dire event store is not encouraging participation or generating any interest in doing anything other than bare minimum.

Both of which certainly does not encourage levelling up, which seems to be the main aim along with encouraging spending.

A huge fail that is likely to drive players away just as much as the inability to fix the problems with the game. I’d suggest rethinking the strategy if you want to keep the game going past 2026. @rigid vapor <@&509690795536941056>

It finally came to me, how Scopely is handeling tied scores in SLB's. There are two options; Either its the oldest account gets the top spot, or the person who spend the most gets bottom spot. Since they are refusing to disclose how it is done, that leaves me to belive its the latter option... To encourage spenders to buy a pack, to overtake all those tied scores. Makes sense to me, and Scopely is douchy enough to do it

I've never seen more people leaving the game in my alliance than during this current 💩 show. We had two leave the first day, and one or two after, and several more wondering if they will continue the game, as it's no longer fun.

The bugs alone make it not fun, but added to that one plus hours just to open chests, endless new loops, hours long grinding events, yet another refinery, and taking away things that players actually liked, these are the perfect conditions to get even the most faithful of players to quit the game.

That's all I'm seeing on various social media platforms - people either quitting, or seriously thinking of quitting, after being with the game from day one.

The designers need to rethink these new loops if they’re going to be building centric. The pull amounts for this arc (and rewards) should be tied to the building level and not ops level. Having an ops 70 need 95k of stuff for 1 pull when a tier 10 epic ship can get about 1k of stuff per trip makes no sense.

I was genuinely mad yesterday, but today I'm over it. Popped a 30-day, likely won't log in for a few days and will just go from there. Seems to be the path of everyone in my alliance who eventually dipped out and never came back.

There are so many tech issues that we aren't even able to engage with Scopely about the serious design flaws in the game.

Tech Issues:

• Lag so bad that ships don't repair properly, spinning circles of death that last seconds to forever (requiring reboots), and likely what is causing Kir-shara to spaz out. Been going on for months now. Obvious at this point that this is just the game now, and it will not get better. Probably the saddest part of it all really. This is a really basic part of any product... its supposed to at least work! lol
• Armada officers and outpost officers not working properly (stuff people paid for, sometimes paid ALOT for) for weeks now. No comments on a fix, other than 'they are aware'.
• BP issues are obvious.
• Plenty of others that I frankly don't even want to waste time thinking about anymore. 😆 We all know what they are. Its crazy when you see them all in a list (posted here every now and then by obviously frustrated players). They aren't making progress on any of them. The list just keeps growing.
  These aren't preferences, or desired things we're being entitled brats about. Its the game not even being in a state of functionality. For months.

Game design flaws we can't even find time to discuss, let alone expect any action taken on:

• Officer spend events that are so reduced in value now that nobody is excited for them anymore.
• A continuous process of nerfing player value. Month after month. Its just fake digital items, why is there so much inflation on giving it away? Will Scopely execs starve if too much g6 rare ore is given out? 😆 Will the income model collapse if ftp players earn the same amount of sigma trit this month as they did last month? Its hilariously nonsensical.
• Events designed by people who don't play the game, aren't interested in making them fun, but are clearly designed to encourage frustration spending. (Just how HEROIC can a player be? Apparently all it takes is $$$!)
• New arcs that require several hundreds of dollars to even engage with. To EXCEL at, this has always been true, and is fine as a monetization model. But at Ops 71 I can't even engage with this new content at all, and legit have zero path to even see when I could in the future, as I can't even upgrade the building slowly to set a 3 month or 6 month or 1 year timetable when I could. Its spend $ or don't even think about participating even at a silly slow pace. And money spend needed to even play at all is never going to work, especially when the new content is uninspired, rehashed copies of old content. The new arc content ain't anywhere close to $300 of fun gang. 😆
• Quality of life things that are basically becoming necessities at this point, with no discussion at all if they're even being worked on. Stuff like:
  • Bulk pulls for all of the pulls that now take close to 1/2 hour to do everyday. (Longer if we're stuck in spinning circle hell)
  • Proper currencies displayed on pages where knowing how much you have is important.
  • Being able to search and/or sort inventories, instead of having to remember where in Inventory or Other an item is... while hoping the page doesn't 'refresh' on you halfway into searching because one of your ships killed a hostile. (As an aside, imagine designing a warehouse that holds a few dozens different categories of things, and separating them only by Materials and Other. 🤣 For SEVEN YEARS. 🤣 🤦‍♂️)
  • Regular inclusion of old stuff into the Archives, at a similar pace to new content releasing.

In the end, the corporate model doesn't believe their game can be fun, stable AND profitable. Money spent on stability or fun is just wasted profit. Maybe they're right. But its clearly not going to change, so its time to go. 🫡

Any ops 70 having any meaningful luck in doing refines for new loop? Best I can get after various crew tests and academy drone targets is 5k (vs 95k needed for 1 refine), I target L62 (63s take off half hull). Using 25B borg cube to hit 62s and then beam 2 61s for free.
63s for now do too much crit damage (until building is higher which requires refines - catch 22) and would require a lot more shield / or higher tier g6 epic (currently T7)

I spent the day playing Civ 6 and DBD, two games that run well, won't pull the rug out from under me and are still lots of fun. I get that they need to regurgitate these old missions for lower-level players to access certain aspects of the game, but for a user of an advanced rank and level, I really do not want or need to redo missions I have already completed.

A few highlights…
-We’ve seen some of the worst stability in years:
Between the lag issue that has been getting progressively worse to several unexpected maintenances in the last few weeks, Armada crews randomly not triggering and well established legacy Officer abilities turning off the icing on the cake was vanishing BP’s, after more than a day players are still reporting it missing.

-Gutted player benefits:
Cancelled CotA, depreciated Officer Choice tokens, removal of “Choice Rewards”, consistently shrinking benefits from standard or premium BP rewards, often packed with Outdated and obsolete rewards to say nothing of the increased cost for the Whales to even “buy in” the new content.

-Obvious Reversal of course from the previous years “Apology tour” and STfC roadmap:
Too many to list but improving stability and reducing the number of grinds alone were considered core “Asks” from the player base and those goals clearly weren’t delivered on.

-Poorly implemented and thinly veiled new “Gatcha” system for Meta officer recruit that has zero player benefit:
Majority of Officers in the pool have multiple easy F2P sources and the “Final reward” for x90 pulls isn’t a full relevant unlock but x20 shards for mostly officers you can Max Tier F2P with only moderate effort.
Whole new system feels borderline criminal..

And my favorite….

Each time it pops up and comes to Scopley’s attention it’s shocking how quickly they’ve addressed it considering how many other serious issues sit unresolved to this day.

I have some legitimate feedback for you <@&509690795536941056> types. I don't know how much of a voice you have for these decisions, but one of y'all need to hear it and pass it along in whatever capacity you can.

Let's be real, this game, as a whole, is pretty awful. Basic mechanics don't work. Arcs are recycled from previous ones. New ships are almost useless. It's largely an exercise in frustration to play.

The only (in the most literal sense) thing that makes this game worth playing is the community. Every player makes this dumpster fire endurable. So when someone in accounting says that they don't care about the f2p folks, they couldn't be more wrong. They are a substantial part of the primary product you're trying to sell. If you make the game unplayable for them, and they leave, you damage the product for the whales, too. Eventually, the product will not be worth their investment either, and you'll have killed the game in its entirety.

I have come to realise the part of this game that makes me happy is the players. The game itself is not something I have enjoyed for a while and I have decided to leave.

Success for me in this game was team success, participation, support of other alliances, working out crews and strategies.
I celebrated personal success with teammates and that even crossed over between alliances and servers. There are a lot of great people here and I hope the game ‘gets good’.

I am going to drop tags and shields shortly and leave this game. I no longer want to wait for it to be improved or to be fun.
This game frustrates me more than rewards me. I no longer have an idea of what I want from this game, I just know neither does Scopely.

A couple weeks ago they did an emergency maintanaince without taking the game offline that caused things to not score correctly, so my final tier of Ferengi pass wasn't scored. I opened a ticket with two days before the event ended, but it took them FOUR DAYS to respond. Better yet, the support tech said, "no problem, I've issued the missing rewards," yet did NOTHING. So I had to open another ticket, waited another four days for the rewards to be issued, but that support tech issued the Ferengi tokens and auto-closed the ticket, but the event store was closed now, so I needed them to issue me my items, so again, ticket NUMBER THREE...and so on. Now I've been waiting SINCE TUESDAY for a reply to my latest ticket....This game is infuriating!!

what level Orions are you hitting? I've been hitting the 65's with Gorkon, Chang, and Gowron (or Martok or Bael, depending on your ship type), but the guys closer to 70 have been using a Harry Mudd crew.

One of my personal gripes about this games since the beginning. Today I invested 14k rares Crystal, 10s millions of sigma trit and countless other RSS into upgrading 3 weapons on my T13 Krencha, and you know what difference it made???

NOTHING, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

On a hostile run i can only kill the same amount of 71s as before. I cannot punch up any better, or at all.

Anyway at ops 71 I'm not surprised, just annoyed.
