I would like to claim that I'm surprised with this latest report of issues but sadly I'm not. Band-aids only work short term and scopley has to stop using bandaids in order to fix this game from hemorrhaging even further if we even make it to the end of this arc. @tidal notch scopley needs to do a full stop on any new content and fix this game I understand they want to continue to make buckets of money but what do you think is better a few more months of money (maybe) if ppl keep buying or taking a month to fix some key systems(actually fix the systems) and then maybe get years more out of this game.

Eu servers have been getting hit hard for awhile from what I've been hearing and now u.s. servers are getting this same treatment for over a week something needs to change or all those players back in June to September last year ya know the ones I'm talking about they'll be the least of your problems scopley wake up and put the fire out now jeez.

Where’s the information, where’s the update, where’s the compensation (As per official updates)? The trouble you have is that the longer you leave it the bigger this compensation needs to be. We are missing out on so many events… they are racking up.

The concern now flowing through the community is you don’t know what is the actual issue and therefore the solution presumably involves a major overhaul…? An outdated game design overloaded with content creates problems like these. We deserve some honesty.

It's like they just trying to please management, sorry going to be blunt, "Kissing ring pieces" anything they can say to make the game look good. Then ignore everything players are telling them is wrong in the game.
How much longer than they keep going on???? Oh sorry until the game gets that bad that players delete all accounts and leave the game. When suddenly the money Scopley get out of players drops below that red line and the game becomes a financial loss.
That's when management will look at each other and ask how this happened, and Scopley employees that work on this game look at their bosses and deny everything, blame everyone else but themselves.

It's about time the STFC team at Scopley get their heads from up their gluteus maximus' and start acknowledging their is a problem.
Stop releasing new monthly content and take the hit
Get engineering to learn the code of the game and fix it.

I personally stopped spending in October. You buy something, it don’t work as advertised or is super ceded in a month or so. Once I broke the cycle, you do not care about the game as much. Just potter about, no pressure.

What is the real point of the Holodeck? You build it to get access to older missions, but never get emitters. The building maxes at level 30. It doesn't deliver anything productive (like emitters????). The holodeck itself has old stories, but no way to run them because you can't get any holo emitters to "pay" for them. Holo emitters aren't even available in the store for $....
Yes, I know it delivers the current stories for the newer events and we get emitters specifically for those missions.
I just noticed that a new tab appeared, labeled "Archive", with 7 new Borg missions, but no way to run them.

Just reading the in-game update for EU and that is more like it. Clear, transparent communication with a decent compensation although it doesn't cover the lost BP points for me personally. It shows a clear failing of your project managers / network teams / release coordination teams to employ rollback strategies / risk management & an absolute failure of release planning.

That is a common mistake we, the playersbase, make in these forums.

The majority here believes that a bunch of whales stop playing then the profits goes down.

Since the ViP forums close and a bunch of whales stopt playing … they also adjusted their income base… more battlepasses, several packs less costly then the default 100 euro packs.

The Logic is that they cut lose those “few” whales and readjusted their income base…

The result is that they generate more income, even withou a few whales and even with a loss of X amount of player base.

That’s the reason why they don’t give a rat ass what we al posting here.

I remember when I first started playing 7 years ago. As an ops 15-20 player we had a different battle pass and events than the higher level players. Now ops 15 players have nothing. You want to keep the new players interested in the game so they can become better players, and giving them nothing means they lose interest.

Dear scopely, the hunt for officer shards is a key feature in this game to become a better player. With this new hostiles you started to deactivate some officer abilities and even punish players who use them nontheless. In my view that is a dangerous strategy. Why should i collect officer shards in future if i cannot be sure that they will support my game progression? Ships come and go, but officers and research stay. That was the rule for success in the long run. Now that is changed, i am not sure players will be so focused on officers anymore, i am certainly not anymore and i think you should reconsider your decision in this matter or explain your own view in this regard for better clarity for the community. I keep getting a notice of this one being destroyed. Earlier it said it was destroyed, but I was lookin in another system I was doing a mission in, expecting it to be a player and notices being lagged from most of my ships running hostiles, I moved them to another system, then it was fine. But after sending it to the other system with the rest, it says it was destroyed again, and again I have this issue of it saying it was destroyed by an armada or assault when I wasn't doing either with any my ships.

Edit: And despite supposedly being destroyed, I restarted the game, still the same message, but I can't repair it.

I stopped spending on the game like 4 years ago. I was a very light spender, $20 battle pack now and again. What made me turn off the little cash I gave scopely was the product didn't seem to be worth the money I was giving them. If things had gotten better then maybe id chamge that, but my experience with Scopely mirrors my experience with Jeep/Stellantis. Out of the box excitement transitioning to deep disappointment due to poor quality control. My alliance has lost several long term players in the last 2 weeks. I am hesitant to pull the plug because of my connection to my alliance but the game itself isnt fun at all.

I've told the cms on here and even the cc's on YouTube scopley has a great product with stfc they really do but they way they running it the past 5yrs ever since tc came out the downhill slope started and kept getting piled on. they can milk this game for easily another 10 yrs or longer if they'd stop now shut the game down when it comes to new content and literally give us repeat arcs for a few months while they overhaul the entire system code. They of course won't do that because in their corporate mindset that means no new content means no new pack sales money will flat line and that bad they don't see that a few months of lost revenue to gain years and years of productive gaming experience and customer experience/retention means increased revenue and possibly even those whales that bailed on this came coming back due to a company that finally cared about the game and players. But no can't stop new content due to them making it 6 months ago even though in the 6 months since they made the content they cant seem to iron out bugs and glitches before putting it live then what happens same thing as always ppl yell ppl scream ppl stop buying or quit. This isn't rocket science a grade 4 math need can predict the pattern and show them how to solve it while making billions but they too stuck in their ways.

I have played this game a long time. This is also not my first mobile game. I have seen others games die.
I say this because I fear with the ongoing lag, crashes and bugs that keep cropping up after all the fixes. I know i am not alone with wondering if this game is in its death throws. This game is slow and clunky. Even compared to games of a similar age, and games that are more complex, it is not very responsive. Even when lag is not present, it can be frustrating to play.

Menus, button, options are not standardized, and many have a bunch of extra steps that aren't necessary. For instance: Yes, I want that item. Yes, I really wanted that item. Yes, I am now done wanting that item, because I now have it. That is a one step process, not 3.

Also (and this may be uncommon, but it is my experience): as more "things to do" are added, it makes me want to progress less. I don't want to spend more time than I already do. I don't want to be overwhelmed. So, when you add a new "whatever", a ship, a building, a loop, etc., I push any thoughts of progressing further out in time. When you add new content layers, it discourages me from attempting to progress. I know that you want players to not get bored when they've done it all, but I haven't. The balance of activities for newer vs. established players is horrible.

As far as playtesting, you should have some that have never played before, and think about how they report the new player experience. If you want new players, you need to find out how new players experience the game. Established players can't tell you that. Employees can't tell you that. Content creators can't tell you that.

I forgot to mention this: the ops separation you implemented did not address the activity balance at all. Not one bit.

Amazing patch notes there Scopely, leaving no doubt that this game is focused just to the whales. G7 Armadas huh? According to sftc.pro, there are 3702 players Ops 71+, out of a total 209829 players. New features for 1.7% of the population - I guess they're clearly the ones with the open wallets.
What about G6 armadas? G5 scrapping? G6 Freebooters? Faction store Bulk Claims? Quality of Life/UI improvements that are too numerous to mention? Nope, gotta quickly drain those fatties of cash before the game dies.

Lower levels may have "loads of content", but perception matters just as much as facts. It can often be perceived as a lower level player that there's little attention paid to the new player experience, particularly as most of what we get is old content from years ago while only higher levels that will take years to reach get to enjoy the new stuff. Level appropriate content often needs to be googled as the events that introduced it ended years ago and never came back into rotation. This is not how a business encourages new players to refresh the customer base and encourage new whales to take the spot of old ones who leave

Theyve paid much attention to the new player experience compared to where most current g5+ players started from. Players not in G7 already have enough content to fill their days with. Any more and other stuff would not get done.

There are other options than making new content for lower ops. Plenty of events that introduced the lower level content ended years ago. Bit of a selfish plug here, but I just got to the ranks where getting the Reliant becomes a thing. I had to discover myself through Google how the whole augment exiles arc works, what to do to grind out the Reliant and have already resigned myself to the fact that it's going to take 100 days of grinding to get it. What would really make me a happy player, and possibly even willing to crack out USS Credit Card, is a rerun of the arc that introduced the augment exiles and gave a way to ease the grind. This is just an example of how you can cater to newer players without even needing new content

Every new ship has a 100 day f2p path. It didnt used to be like that. It used to be much longer. 100 days to acquire a new ship is not much in the big picture. And for many of the loops you can still engage in them even without the ship. You can grind the Exlies and do your pulls even without the Reliant. Not sure why you had to use google to see how to acquire the Reliant. Then again i dont know what kind of infographics the game offers now that it isnt the newest content anymore.

As far as "easing the grind", all specialty ships will eventually find their way into the event stores. You can speed up the progress by acquiring BPs through those.

All of that can be true, but I'm going to be blunt and say that the player who started a month ago doesn't really care how long it took to F2P grind a ship 6 years ago. As I said earlier, it's not so much about what is factually true as it is about what players perceive to be true. Speaking from chatting with other lower level players, there's a feeling that players are forgotten and that content takes forever to grind for things that don't even matter anymore because the associated events ended long ago. And if new players feel neglected, they'll leave and find other games to milk them of their money.

As for the Reliant, that's a specific example of what the experience is like that I think fits well with what I'm saying. The only sign that it's a thing is when you reach ops 26 and it appears in the Augment store. The game doesn't tell you anything about how to get splicers, where to get them or how the augment exiles work. Its just...there. You have to ask around or use Google just to find out where to go to grind. And of course, the first thing you see is "don't bother, as the events that made it interesting ended years ago". Again, for clarity sake, I'm not complaining about the grind. It's moreso that the content that is available for lower ops levels is hidden and, due to the lack of events for it, mostly pointless.

And again, I don't deny that content is needed for higher ops levels. Absolutely that is true. Hence my statement that you don't need new content to cater to lower ops, just rerun old events more often. That's all they need to do

There are events for those lower ops contents. They just arent there every day, if they were, you woudlnt have time to do anything else. You have completely seperate BPs that have those older loops compared to higher ops players who are engaging in the new content Vgers. And you decide whether they are interesting or not. Most of the things you get from having those ships and doing the loops are relevant even at higher ops.

i mean in general really there will be a few big spenders, but seeing as there are about 115 of these 73+ in the world, but give you an example on my server when it launched i was barely in the top 150 players for first 6 months, the top guy on server spent about 5k one weekend on upgrading his 34 ships, we were locked at 39. This same guy left around about when we hit 60. People like to be the "biggest" on new servers, i didnt crack the top 50 players on my server for well over the first year because i just didnt spend like they did, only BPs, so many players have gone that i now am in the top 15 or so

Since starting the game about 3 months ago, there has been two Franklin events and an assorted event that let me get Discovery. Beyond that it's mostly just a random hodge-podge of officer shard related events. That's nice, but none of them really address what I'm talking about.

The Franklin is at least somewhat introduced to new players due to the story missions related to swarms. You get introduced early to what they are, how to kill them, what they drop and the Franklin. The Botany Bay and regular augments are introduced to you via their own story arc as well. Beyond that, the game just drops you in it and leaves you to figure it out. There was no intro to the Vi'dar and the Borg, no intro to the Reliant and augment exiles, no intro to the Stella and rogues etc etc. Even armadas are left to new players to figure out how they all work.

As a 72+ year player who has invested a lot every month, I'm tired of spending money on content that's buggy, half-heartedly thrown into the game just to make money. It's always just betas that are presented to us, and then we players constantly have to point out the bugs on Discord. It's simply unprofessional.

Totally 100% agree, it really detracts from the experience, especially if you're interested in the stories which I am (much more than pvp) - like you say it would give so much more to the game if it loaded up the appropriate story arc at the right time. It really annoys me that i have to use very scarce pattern buffers to play old content that presumably players got free at the time. And the holodeck descriptions are poor or nonexistent, i even used buffers accidentally to load up something I'd already played because it didn't explain what it was, already-played content should be removed from the holodeck
