You have to make sure the tank is cycled before hand and check the water parameters. When you acclimate them, you need to drip acclimate them as well bc shrimp are always absorbing the water. I just put them in a container and over the course of a few hours use a dropper to add the water bc I don't have a place to store the hoses for drip acclimation xD (I'll lose the hose)

Cycling the tank is letting the bacteria develop and the chemicals evaporate. You actually don't have to cycle a tank if you have the proper water. But, if you have hard water like I do, you have to dose it with a lot of chlorine and chloramine remover and some beneficial bacteria.

How I did mine was put the remover in, threw some live plants in and a piece of driftwood I bought from a pet store that was in a tank(if you buy stuff that is in a tank, it has the beneficial bacteria). Keep the pump going, and do a partial water change after a little bit if you get an algae bloom (a lot of white mold looking stuff)

Put the filter floss in to catch the debris and some rocks or ceramic thingies to house the bacteria.

Aquarium rocks house the beneficial bacteria and can be good.

The shrimp are happy to eat the little bits off the plants.
Small Fry(evil guppy) eats the excess snail eggs as well as bits off the plants.
