these are all so different places ahah but i love those, personally i wanna live in germany probs or some nordic country
Eesti š
LOL yeah I love travelling / different scenery but I do have to say I like cold weather a bit better. but in Virginia we have all seasons so not having that owuld be a bit weird. I would adapt though. and germany is beautiful but be ready to have insurance on everything hehe
if some governments of some countries weren't so bad or unsafe i'd love to live there
but yeah everywhere has its risks
yeahh belgium galš§šŖ
We R here
omg so true i would fantasize the usa as a kid but now later seeing all these news im not so sure anymore... obviously it's not the whole of usa that's bad but yk what i mean
I understand. I will say I hate politics but I do have some prefrences. and what is going on now, is just... I'll just say I do not agree with it
and I know the direction we are going in and I do not want that personally
I think our country still has a lot of benefits compared to some, but yeah in the future it wont be what people used to dream about
also travelling best !! i come from a very flat country so I love seeing some gradient in the sceneryšļø haven't acc researched germany too much yet lol
kuidas lƤheb?
I live in such a mix its so cool to see! mountains r so fun but I will warn you, if you live in flat country going to a country with lots of elevation, be careful how your ears and body react to the sudden height change
Hea/no, aitƤh, ja Sina ?
oh yeah for sure. my home country (finland) just got a very far right parliament too and it's starting to resemble the US a lotš«
yup. not fun at all
honestly, both sides here are insane
very extreme
do not agree with the "I HATE gay people. I love beer yeeeee hawww 'merica" but also do not agree with "government should control everything, you did this in your past? canceled." so thats why I just want to get away from it
š
yeah that's the strange thing. i feel like people are either full on liberals or conservatives, red or blue. where is the variety? i think it's also crazy how there's basically only two political parties to choose from. overall the US is such a diverse country and it's hard to govern
In theory our government and the way it works is very smart and ideal. but just like a lot of other governments, put in practice it may start out fine, but over time its like ...
there will always be extremists and such but its gotten to a point here where im like "get me out"
yeah totally undestand you
and the fact that talking about your opinion can make you lose friends / family is CRAZY
omg this! so many countries are a good example
don't get me wrong we are lucky to have such a unique system and have the freedom to do so much (not as much anymore) but people have taken advantage of that / keep making the same mistakes it has led to this
no ofc not! it's complitely valid to feel this way. i wanna see how it goes in the future tho, im sure more people will wake up and vote better in the next elections
@limpid heron, you have just reached level 8!!!
congratz
yes I hope so!
also.. forgot this was the nature channel.. lemme just..

throwback to last year when I was exploring the forest & randomly stumbled upon a castle (cc: @brittle shell / get in losers weāre castleposting)
I was just at some gardens and they had a whole space themed section
castles
The way you just have castles laying all around in the woods is wild to me

is like if crest was a picture (thats my ulitmate compliment on immaculate vibes)
reminds me of vanilla sky
true!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love this place, it's like 100m from my house
the walk to and from the village shops is always rly nice + the fact itās raining makes me v happy
š§ļø
this looks so calming
it might be unintentional but I love the graininess/noise adds to the vibez
itās not š I was in a rush to take the photo so I didnāt have time to adjust the settings perfectly
but ty :)
like these pics are so soothing to me like an old movie
thatās honestly the vibe I was going for so that means a lot
I love me a grainy cloud photo. So aesthetic
I do love grain in photos overall
āRare pink grasshopper snapped by Gary Phillips in his garden in Wales.ā
preetty
pretty
first one reminds me of a Whistler painting which is a fave of mine
brb will find
this has been my phone background for 10 years lol
Nocturne in Black & Gold
itās hard to capture all the colours so I included 2 different versions to compare with your photos. so pretty (and this also depicts fireworks)
ššš these paintings are so beautiful
thank you so much for even comparing that
omg love these han (and agree! prettiest fireworks pic ive seen haha)
( spoiler incase people get creeped out by them )
a pink grasshopper was spotted in Wales a couple days ago !!
apparently the colour is caused by a genetic mutation & thereās about a 1% chance of seeing one in person within yr lifetime ( they also have a slightly shorter lifespan since they canāt hide from predators v well )
miss anthropocene created her
maurice
sky today and yesterday from my front porch
idk
I love how simple the photo is but the vibes are so nice
thank u
here are some more

bonus
theyāre amazing fr
idk I love clouds
a lot
āļø me too š
really good photos. taken on your phone?
yes my old phone which has screwed-up colours on the screen lol
I seem to have a thing for older quality phones. my mom had an older phone and I thought those photos looked better than when she got her newer phone
how much older because i got this one in early 2021 so not extremely old
it was an Iphone 7
and my grandma had a 3 and I liked it too š
idk iām not a fan for super high quality
depends on what it is
for nature it doesnāt need to be high quality to see the beauty
GUYS what is this ???
Could be Italian Arum, im not 100%
if it is i believe theyāre poisonous + invasive
OHHH thank you!!
no worries!!!
need leaves for positive ID
could be Arum but those leaves look like yarrow or tansy or something so assuming 2 diff plants in photo. leaves should be thick and glossy and heart-shaped
also bit late for arum berries but idk Spanish plant seasons
yes yes the back is a diff plant
im not there anymore n didnt take a pic of leaves
yeah leaves would make a more confident identification but my ID app + bit of google helped bahaha
thank u sm guys !!!
peppercorn :0
glori u always seem to find the wackiest plants
fr this park is kinda crazy
and i go every week and find new stuff
some lily pads for you..
beloved..
lilyyy paaaads š„ŗ so pretty
Q lindas!!!!

Assorted bindweed pics related to #qotdā
Also assorted hellebore pics all the way from 2020-2023ā¦sadly cannot find them all in my mass of thousands of photos ⦠(can only fit 10 tho so. Lol.)
Scrolling my pics making me a bit stressed bc I have barely been foraging this year & not been to the sea this week and
someone drag me to the outdoors pls preferably somewhere unfamiliar
I was biking yesterday and I went down a street I don't go down very often, even though it's close to me and it was wild
There was one house that had multiple banana trees?
And another house that had angel's trumpet overhanging the sidewalk
lots of weird gardening choices
11pm clouds
post more welkin
so pretty
will endeavour to..must get outside
we live for han's nature pics
walk home this morning ; ; nice cool cloudy day ; wish every day could be like this and also that i got up early enough to enjoy it (unlikely i fear)
photos of flowers did not turn out well o no ... any help IDing them still welcome
headcanon is the white flowers in the last few pics are athelas
found this pretty babie chilling in the kitchen ( common emerald moth )
Mountains are so pretty
y'all got any more of them "mist-shrouded mountains"
colours in this are balm for the soul
love the rushes here tooā¦
lots of plants here - I can see chicory (the blue one), vetch, thistle, daisies (of some description, Asteraceae can be annoying), sumac (the red things - edible/delicious part of middle-eastern cuisine), birds-foot trefoil (yellow ones), purple vipers-bugloss
the white ones I need to think for a second because the flowers look just like white campion, but the leaves less so
I agree it is athelas coded & have a list of plants of this nature š¶āš«ļø
o sumac wow ... i have had it before with persian food and so on .. was wondering what the red thingies were ..
I have always wanted to forage it but I only ever see it in peoplesā gardens
take this sumac it's on public property š
I donāt have as many misty mountains as I would like, but here is Thailand in 2011
thailand pics are always welcome they are always correct
oh no I zoomed in more - it is campion - I just got the leaves confused with a nearby plant
you can use them to make soap due to the saponin content
v pretty
Whoa! That's an awesome view!!!
I just noticed
there is cinquefoil, but also my fav, wood sorrel (v good to forage) (lemony tasty)
gottem
sorrel eh..
They're all over the place here, I make sumac lemonade with them every year
it's quite good imho
Iām envious bc I have had sumac soda but never found a good spot for them
Speaking of foraging, I made mulberry jam on saturday and I got 10 jars out of it
I fogot to take a pic but I'll send one when I get the chance
summer rain ... emotional need..
My sister is in Scotland rn and she just sent me a photo of a Scots thistle
They're invasive in the US but it's cool to see it in its natural habitat
omg where
no wayā¦proximity alarm
OMGG it is. it is the trash island cover

Listen to 'Trash Island' now āĀ https://yr1.se/trashisland
jk its just both thailand
Really amazing sunlight illumination on some clouds i spotted on a walk recently
my child is guttating. witness me
I love this like by the side of a river in the middle of a patch in the forest vibe
funnily it's a small pond right behind a row of houses and near a walking path, it's not in the forest at all BUT it feels that way and that rules
yeah those are the most chill spots
urban greenspace .. beloved
indeed. I like to think of them as mini oasis in the middle of busy life
a few weeks ago i made some elderflower cordial & i finally got my bottle of it today
I havenāt been out this year yet (been slacking)ā¦thanks for the reminder! Need to get outside..
blackberry season is on the horizon itās your sign to prepare
iāve been seeing a couple start to pop up thereās just an abundance of blackberry bushes near me & i yearn for them
iād love to make rose tea
Think they are still in flower up here but not been outside for a few days. Usually Scotland lags behind England slightly with the cooler weather
thereās a little area i see them growing omw to the shops & tbf itās in a pretty sunny area i donāt think theyāre ready to take just yet but iād give them maybe a week
I still have some pink elderflower cordial from last year lol (if you can find the purple bushes they make an interesting concoction) (was saving it for special occasions butā¦idk what those would be haha)
Exciting, do report back
Good on porridgeā¦
ohh interesting ! do they taste the same?
surprisingly it does have a slightly diff flavour which fascinated me
Itās almost a bit fruitier
oh wow, iāll have to make note & keep an eye out if i ever see them. i think the next time i forage elderflowers iāll try and make some tea , im hoping to start making my own teas since i love so many + want to start buying loose leaf
Took me forever to find, but here is the colour lmaoooo off putting flesh colour. They are less abundant than the normal elder by far, so only made a small quantify
Ooo keep me updated pls
super interesting! i wonder if thereās a reason for the different colour elderflower like if itās just a rare occurrence that can happen or if itās a different kind to the regular white elderflowers
Itās a subspecies or ornamental strain I think
shall do ! I had some elderflower & rose tea a few weeks ago and ie not stopped thinking about it tbh
For gardens etc
It sounds amazing combined ooo
Maybe in kombucha if I can get my shit together
I harvested lilacs for more lilac and rose oolong booch this year and then I got ill so they rotted in the fridge
cannot let that happen again
I am excited to hear of your endeavours
Welcome in the south of Belgium (only my forehead and my nose are sunburnt, thanks 14km)

The intensity of the green here is healing

rosehips
Snap
only on rugosa so far tho! Not any other wild rose species here yet
itās lil legs
model legs
yesss
your rosehip season is like waaay before they're any good here
I don't think I'll be getting any good rosehips for at least a month
they are a tiny bit early bc of the heat - and also rugosa tend to strike early compared to the other varieties
but yes I think we might be seasonally a bit ahead
My friends are there ā”
I absolutely adore my photo quality, it makes incredible results
peacefulā¦glassyā¦ā¦ā¦.needed this 2day thank u
šš
what phone??
omg I thought this was a painting at first š it's too beautiful
Haha, yes I looove this place so much, and I'm obsessed with twilight and stuffs like that, this is incredible ā”
they have such beautiful photos
may I ask what country?
so pretty
some insect friends ( butterfly , caterpillar & beetle ) censored incase anyone doesnāt want to see!
omg! jewel beetle
anyone know why my devilās ivy is getting these black spots? :( i googled what can be the issue but what are the most probable causes if anyone knows? (google said black mold)
iām 100% sure iām not over/underwatering it, itās in indirect sunlight, in a warm humid room
also the spot looks grey bc of my dirty camera sorry lol but itās really pure black
Not unlikely to be fungal, does the pot have drainage? I would clip that leaf off
They are tolerant of a wide range of conditions; aroids live in humid climates but many of them can withstand fairly low water levels. However fungal infections can come from insect vectors or as a result of the pot staying wet (no drainage)
In theory you can also give them some hydrogen peroxide to treat but I have never done it. Got rhat tip from a breeder friend tho
now that i think of it it could be mold yeah probably at the bottom
it has drainage but not enough water gets drained
thank you!!
No problem, I would let it dry out a bit if the soil feels very damp rn - you could also try and āpropā a healthy strand just to make sure that you have a backup!
glassy green sea & some of my fav flowers & burnet rosehips (v Scottish) & god-rays & some amusing nautical doorknobs
and river I seem to compulsively photograph every time I cross the bridge..

YESS
duckling gang !!!
This is like a pandemic going on in europe atm i fuxking love it bahahahah
oh no those are actually a problem š iirc if you see them you're expected to report it to someone else with authority or smth like that
it's all fun and games until the boars turn aggressive with people to get food in the city (has happened already
)
Yepppp!!! Seem lots of videos ab it in Poland too, esp at the beach, they just be doing their own thing šš itās funny since weāre humans but we just let them do whatever they want hahha
They are going to the beach? š
yeahh that's the thing, we shouldn't, because they have their own habitat and the more we let them roam around the cities the harder it will be to get them out š
not to mention it's not that safe or sanitary either since they're wild animals walking around the streets
THE COPS CAME
they just clapped
it was so funny
they live in a forest close to the area so they just. clapped them to their home
most spanish way to tell them to go homeš
ššš
Wonder if Iāll come across them as well
don't tell the local government I said this but they lowkey look so cute with their tails swinging
Our secret xoxo gossip girl
Would u keep one if u could?
honestly no š they're cute when small but once they grow up they are too much to handle
would rather have a big dog instead

SO excited to find this mycoheterotrophic plant today (previously have found parasitic plants in the UK, but theyāre rare, and we donāt have this species!)

I need to see more of the leaves but if anything they look closer to some Sorbus
(Ash/Rowan)
I did, outside the city. Very otherworldly evening, these misty streaks across the landscape. I tried to see the fairies
japanese windflower (anemone) / bats on the river / water in the dark
I set out to document the diversity of rubus in my area earlier for a Bit but discovered 1. At least 11 subspecies just on my route & 2. There are at LEAST 300 species, possibly closer to 1000 if we include cultivars & subspecies & such
windflowers are also actually native to China but š¶āš«ļø
hastening to add that we also have native anemones but they are quite differentā¦some of my fav plants (early signs of spring/little white stars dotting the forest floor/often by the riverbank/ athelas -coded again)
also some hydrangeas which reminded me of this photo I have had saved for about 10 years (Ellen von Unwerth)
enough spam..sorrysorry

hi anyone can iād these lil weeds that grow in my flowerpots soil ????
Is it succulent at all? Kind of resembles artillery fern
Pilea microphylla also known as angeloweed, artillery plant, joypowder plant or (in Latin America) brilhantina is an annual plant native to Florida, Mexico, the West Indies, and tropical Central and Southern America. In the southern part of MƩxico, specifically Campeche and MƩrida, the local name is Frescura. The plant belongs to the family Ur...

The most gorgeous mushrooms I ever had the chance to come across, Cinnabar Chanterelles

So exciting! May I ask where in the world you are? (Donāt feel obliged to tell me!) I think I saw a lot of these in New Hampshire (as well as other chanterelles) but I donāt think we have them here in the UK, or if we do then not commonly
omg you're right at home here already with this haha
East Coast US!
Ahh cool stuff!! It sounds like it tracks with what I found in that case
thanks!

its a meme with those who enjoy mycology that "all mushrooms are edible, but some only once" since u die lol. to get into the club dudeman had to identify which mushroom was safe or not and chose the poisonous one and died
yeah i got something like that but was very confused by the bottom panel
well thanks for confirming i was overthinking it
We are truly in gods country (good day in england)

real .. what does the tea taste like anyway
itās sorta like green tea but maybe not as strong? earthy type taste, tbh could be quite nice with honey
itās always been quite acidic when Iāve had it, thatās so interesting - I wonder if itās a locale/terroir type thing
i am into this earthy thing ... hmm ...
could easily be the length of time steeped / how much nettles are added maybe? idk but i think iām gonna try it with honey at some point bc iām curious as to how itāll taste

selaginella are fernāallies
where can they be found?
They are a common genus but I think (?) the iridescent ones are rare ish - I could not find many observations on this plant app I use - this one is from Malaysia!
One of the species is native to southern China

I literally grabbed it from some landscaping and put it in a pot šŖ“
Sorry missed this earlier
Definitely Crassulaceae
My best guess is ice plant since they are common house plants
Could also be kalanchoe at a stretch but I donāt think so with those flowers. It could even be a sedum, thinking about it more
hyotelephium spectabile
The only thing giving me pause is the smooth leaf edges but it might be because it is quite juvenile
anyway care for stonecrops is all fairly similar so it doesnāt matter too much haha
thank you!!!!!!
sorry for terrible video but look what I found on my way to work!!
all of you are severely under-reacting to finding a random frog & you should reflect on your behaviour.

I doubt this will help @vayyiqra but some context from around this time last yearā¦
||earthstars are the fungus depicted in the video⦠u can squeeze them to release their spores, like soā¦||
i was literally thinking about this video but i didnt want to say it
idk why my brain decided to store that video in the front but i've randomly thought about it so many times since you shared it it's not even funny
it's one of those seemingly unimportant things that get stuck with you lmao
iāve never considered squeezing an earth star i was just amused by thinking it looks like a boob but next time i encounter one i shall give it a squeeze
all the more reason to squeeze i think
It's a rainbow! š
one year ago today I was climbing this hill & nearly passed out bc medication side effects lol & found many mushrooms
I could go today..
Also did not realise but this was a reprisal of a near identical video from TWO years ago so really this is now a tradition I must continue
we NEED the 3 year version
