Gonna be printing out 6 of these, putting an Arduino inside of them, that’ll spin a circular group of LED’s towards an Artifact with a tracker inside. This is the first PLA test print of PROSPECT_labs “Bear” detector; before I’m gonna be printing them out in PETG, Airbrushing them, and doing all the mechanical inner workings.

Some of the parts were produced by airsoft gun manufacturers. For example, the canonical perforated buttstock was produced by DBoys and G&G. The PBS-1 silencer is also produced for airsoft. The SUSAT sight can be found both original and in a huge number of replicas. The SUSAT adapter for the PICATINNY rail on this rifle is original, but it can be made by yourself. The rest of this rifle is custom, the RIS rail for the gas-operated mechanism is 3D printed. The GL 5040 grenade launcher is a remake of the M203 grenade launcher, since there is no such model on the airsoft market. The frame for the GL 5040 is completely designed and printed on a 3D printer. Something like that)

I’ve always been curious what the Blue circle was supposed to represent.

All I really know is that the patch was sewn on the clothing GSC was wearing when they went into the zone in 2002 for reference..

Perhaps the Blue Circle could either be symbolizing the Liquidator medal, or the circle representing the perimeter, whilst using Ukraine’s flag colors.

little backstory:
Around 3 weeks ago I decided that I will cosplay a Monolithian during the next convention I'll be at, which is on Saturday and Sunday.
I assembled pretty much the whole kit, and then got the idea to add in an actual working replica Veles detector to it, so I got to work.
Unfortunately none of the electronic parts I need will arrive before the end of the month, so I got to work with whatever I have on hand
And so, here it is, my Veles detector in its prime state, only a few constantly glowing LED lights.
The complete plan involves:
Blinking and fading green LEDs on the screen, blinking red LED as a scan indicator, a buzzer doing the beeping, as well as a few constantly glowing LEDs.
I made the model myself and tried to stay true to the in-game model as much as possible, but some things needed tweaking to allow for installation.

Tomorrow I'll be on a hunt for a couple large bolts and then I'll be spending the better part of the day purposefully rusting them

I rusted a few bolts myself by putting them between 2 wet sponges and binding them together with elastic bands

this is just salt and regular white vinegar

and a 12VDC power supply, 10 minutes in that and the nickel is completely gone, the steel is coated in an acidic solution and they start rusting immediately

I got some double sided adhesive and just attached it like that. If I end up stitching it I will go over the stiches with wax or some other substance to waterproof it

You can also use very wide velcro tape cut to square pieces. Its a bit PITA though

I used that to be able to sew on the velcro, but the adhesive created a whole new problem while sewing

Velcro tape does not adhere well at all in my experience. Hence why I got a separate double sided adhesive tape which is much stronger
