Quite thin but there were a bunch of them (Trailer Dump, south of Yantar Prod. complex). I stumbled upon mercs north of it, ran through to the south part. Crouched and hid in one of them. Yet these mercs shot right through several of them like they knew exactly where I was.

Call of duty is a few thousand, Elden ring I believe was around 250 which is considered small, starfield I think was around 500, far cry 6 had around 11 studios working on it, doom eternal had almost 1400 devs, kcd2 was around 300

Gsc isn’t a large team, at least not when comparing it to other studios making games of comparable size to stalker 2. Stalker 2 is not a small game by any stretch either

Sure, absolely! But it was the case where they knew my exact location and shoot through it all. Like I was on an opposite side or all the sheds and the NPC stood on the other side but shot right through at me. No matter if I moved around.

Hey stalkers, any tips for identifying who and who not to shoot on sight in the zone? I feel like I end up walking up to people who are not friendly all the time thinking they are. I cant tell who is friendly and who isnt before its too late lol
If you play with crosshair you can hover over potential target, if it light up green they're neutral

What are these massive updates. The only one I can think of meaningfully is 1.7.
The rest have been band aids on a rushed release.
I've watched a streamer for 7-8 hours playing the game on PS5 release, and man, 1 year after - still so buggy...
- NPC bodies stuck in the ground with only legs sticking out (at multiple occasions)
- dead NPCs constantly lay in "yoga position" with their hands and feet behind their back
- poltergeists wallhacking, completely confusing the person (she was playing the game for the first time)
- in the mission where you need to carry a body of the stalker out of the anomaly - the "take body" button just doesn't appear, until you loot it (despite are explicitly told NOT to loot it). Reloading from a save did not help.
- button to interact with the trader didn't appear for least one of the traders on the stream (making her very frustrated)
- NPC shooting into walls or just stuck in the combat position pointing a gun into one place and not moving
- NPCs stuck inside one another blocking a door (happened once)
- in the Nightgale's mission where you need to kill dogs, "A-Life" spawns bandits right in the way when the streamer and Nightgale run towards the location. NPC start shooting the player, but completely ignoring the Nightgale and Nightgale completely ignores them just running through as if nothing is happening, just giving a default replica ("don't fall behind!").
- mission where (The Ninth) cures Mastiff, looks like a game-designer`s prototype, that has never been touched by an actual programmer: when you select "the building is empty" dialog option when talking to Dew at the door, then Nineth just runs through the player right into Dew's face, and shoots A FULL MAG into him for like 3 seconds - all this time Dew and his gang just stands still without ANY reaction (not even playing an idle animation talking, or anything, just stuck in "dialog" mode), then he suddenly plays "take out a gun" animation and just one-shots the Ninth with a mele attack, not giving the stream even time to react. Mission is over. The whole scene looks so clunky and frustrating for the player... But that's not over - then the whole gang enters the building where Mastiff is lying wounded. However, instead of going to the room where Mastiff is, they just stop at the anteroom and stay there indefinitely completely forgetting the very reason they came to the house at the first place. It all just looked so jarringly bad... Also, The Ninth changes voice actors for different replicas.
It is so sad to think that after a whole year the game is in such a poor state... Like quality control just not exists

You will never be ‘immune’ to Psi hallucinations, the best way is to start hauling ass and popping a psi block once you hear the psi droning pick up
did they make medkits heal slower or is it a mod i might have added?! bc for me bandages dont heal at all and medkits heal so slow and i was wondering if one of the mods i installed or just a game feature (i do not recall having one of those mods thats why im asking)

Also add the fact that we have bloodsucker and burer infestation, like bloodsuckers was fixed and it is broken again and with much higher magnitude. Personally I had a situation that a bloodsucker would scream in the distance and then move exactly where I was and engage me.
Also some pre-placed artifacts still buried below ground. Or Ward HQ spawning insta-kill NPCs if you kill too many soldiers at their compund. Or insta-kill snipers at Duga or Cordon, or 2 million siverts rad-zones that fry you the moment you make one step to far.

Yeah, I'm sure there are more issues than i mentioned, but I just decided to include specifically what I witnessed with my own eyes and there is an actual video recording of that happening over the span of under 10 hours of playtime.
In environmental design, atmosphere and sound - the game looks great, but the amount of junk that is still unaddressed 1 year after release is staggering (like my list, is by far not exhaustive). Though, after reading replies from other people here - I understand why....
Most of those issues are spot on. I came here on discord asking what I should do about that guy that you had to bring out from anomaly field *without * looting. It's counter-intuitive that you have to grab the PDA from his pockets first.
BUT on the other hand the Alife in 1.7 is surprising me in a good way. For example I knew of one Chimera spot and when I approached the area I saw it dead, it was killed by Ward who then got killed by pack of Snorks. A very difficult monster was laying dead ready to be skinned. And it isn't the first time I am exploring an area knowing there is a scripted encounter only to see that someone else dealt with that problem already.
I can shoot snorks or bandits all day if it means I don't have to fight Zone's apex.
Ugh, is that normal? I took a quest for the innkeeper in the starting area where I was supposed to clear out some bandits… and then, within a short time, seven bloodsuckers spawned. When I went back to the innkeeper to turn in the quest, two more spawned right in front of the village.
And one more question: this is my first playthrough and I jumped straight into Master difficulty. It’s almost impossible to tell who is friendly and who is hostile. Enemies don’t seem to wear shoulder patches or any other clear identifiers. Are there plans to improve this or add better visual identification later on?

Bandits usually wear dark colors and trenchcoats
Stalkers usually wear their stalker suits
I feel it’s a decent challenge without being tedious tbh. Enemy NPCs can be tanks bullet sponges, if you don’t use the right ammo.
Basically need AP ammo to 1-2 shot Exos with some calibers, non AP ammo will require around 3-5 headshots depending on what armour your hitting.

Do AP bullets effect mutants? Like does it do enough extra damage to make them worth using against them?
HP (expansive) are much better for mutants, AP should be used against humans with heavy armor such as exos

Not that i know of, at least in my experience Bloodsuckers seem to take the same number of AP rounds as regular rounds to kill
All you are doing is more damage to your weapon by firing AP at mutants

If you are referring to the Iron Forest & CNPP, no they are still blocked off & unfinished in current build 1.7.1
Sounds like this DLC is pointing more towards exploring some newly repopulated & potentially modified areas of the base map, but that PS5 article does have a line "Your choices may also lead you to completely uncharted places. Trust your instincts to see how it pays off." that certainly seems to imply some wholly new areas, though it's unclear as of now if these will just be further fleshed out POI interiors, or the actual overworld map will expand in some form.

First time finding this zone legends channel
You can complete the part at the ranger station with no issues. You will know youre at the part to "hold off on" when your objective changes to "Go to SIRCAA". I stopped at that point and went free roaming as once you enter SIRCAA you are locked in until you complete the mission and make several major choices
As soon as you leave the Lesser Zone you are free to explore the entire map except Jupiter and Pripyat ||(you can still get there early if you really want to, but youre not supposed to)||
Appreciate it mate, I was wondering if areas on the West side of the lesser zone and garbage were off limits or needed story progression to access. I'll be sure to explore those before continuing to SIRCAA 
Nope, it's all accessible. The only caveat is you will be insta-killed if you attempt to approach Duga from the north or East. You can get into the city if you follow the south-most road in, but everywhere else is covered by snipers. ||there is a quest there you will miss if you don't do it before the story takes you to Duga||
Here I was thinking I'd done everything there is to do before continuing the story, and yet, there's another 60% of the map to explore

Yess, I'm so excited for that! I haven't explored any of regions outside of zaton/swamp/garbage/zalissya/cordon. Currently exploring the cooling towers. The game world is so huge

Tbh i am not enjoying it as much as Anomoly and i'm hoping if they can emulate that epxerience it would be the best game by far
I think the only real thing I'm missing is more looting and personal crafting and cooking. Other than that, I think the vibe is awesome, the gameplay is decent, the world could use a couple more sidequests/ random encounters through better a-life for sure.
What about you? What could be improved to emulate the anomaly experience more?
Can't wait for the future expansion, which may feature unlocked hidden regions. Guessing this update is just unfinished side missions from the base game.

WHy i wrote that is, bcs many ppl are acting as it was accident or "leak" or something, when its actualy clearly GSCs official post on Playstation blog, Molit literaly said, that this is exclusive news for Sony and it was worded in a way, when you can clearly see, that it was clearly supposed to be released before the update drops, not while it drops, so it dropped exactly when it should. But ppl say, that its leak

Hey all, just wondering if there is any way to fix my game. I’ve been having issues with launching S2 because of a couple of mods that aren’t listed on Mod.IO anymore. I’ve tried to delete the mods and reload a previous save but it all leads back to the same screen that says I’m missing the mod.
And because of this I instantly dashboard
Which mods? When NPC Combat Overhaul was removed my save file just notified me it was missing and that was it
Can’t even play the game, and I’ve spent over 200 hours on this save file and I’m not willing to restart
You probably had a mod installed that can’t be removed during a playthrough by the sounds of it.
You'll either have to wait until GSC puts it back on xbox (the modder fixes and re-uploads it) or restart

Is GSC planning to fix the sleep mechanic? I've not heard any adjustments being planned yet. It would be cool if you got drowsy or could actually fall asleep and have a portion of your loot robbed.
I want to say they have mentioned it's on their radar but I imagine it's a lower priority than many things they have worked on so far. Would be cool to have it matter more though
Yeah, at this point the sleep mechanic doesn't matter at all. It has never affected any aspect of gameplay that I can recall. I forgot it even existed as a mechanic.
I think, that sleeping is tied to something else, that is tied to engine update or something to do with Alife and it wont be touched until that point, bcs it would not work properly before that. But that is only my idea, i dont know if this is true or not. But it would explain why its still not fixed.

Hey, is there rules about the bullet penetration power on objects? Like, If I am behind some metal sheet or a tree I can't be shoot but I still take damage when I am behind 1m³ concrete cube or some vehicles. Is there something I am missing?
the quest to kill a controller on Wild island is so borked and infuriating on Master mode

I do hear your frustration. It's a sisyphean task to have the game be "fixed" as a whole, but it's also undeniable that there have been numerous regular improvements made to the game with updates, and presumably the teams behind adding narrative content + those fixing ongoing issues aren't one & the same in a way that means it's either/or. Seeing some of the major improvements made as of 1.7 and knowing UE 5.5.4 upgrade is on the horizon, I imagine that more of these issues will be ironed out in time.

Well by default Master saving is exactly as it was. You can optionally turn on manual saves in the options menu
If you do nothing it should remain the same

IDK, I think the system could definitely use some tweaks. This is a quick way to give people some options at least.
Expedition mode is a complete failure made for gamma babys who insist campfire saves is a good thing (they turn it off every single playthrough)
From what I'm reading is more of an optional thing yeah, but it is hidden so not many keeping up with stuff won't even notice it
Some may want to experience the gameplay changes made from veteran to master difficulty without the pseudo-iron mode, never loved that in Metro Exodus either. For me Better Ballistics Redux gives me more the kind of Ranger Hardcore difficulty changes I was seeking out of a master mode anyway so I'll continue to use that
Some may be seeking the greater challenge but are not fond of the simple mistake costing them hours of gameplay, we've all got different takes on our stalker sadism

In the bottom right corner on the pause menu where it says the time/ date & difficulty, I believe it will change from saying Master to saying Veteran+ so really not a huge deal

I defend the purity of the Master level, which should NEVER allow free saving. Otherwise, the whole point of Expedition goes out the window.

This content sounds half baked on top of half baked. Another weird exclusive deal with a console, stopping the game actually getting a strong base to build from.

I've completed STALTER 2 - master difficulty but with mods allowing to save/gain achivements. Without that - that was uplayable. Especialy when fight with Faust/Strielok/Scar - they kill with one shot + these anomalies flying around. Does anyone from developers tested boss-fights on master difficulty? They are broken even with "save mod" i needed to use "god mode" to complete this.
Strielok on Master Dificulty kills with one shot, its imposiible to win this fight without a god-mode enabled.
And even if you menage to kill strielok - there is another fight with scar, who also one-shot player, and between these two fights there is no AUTO SAVE
Yeah they need to add more sacs in the story progression. The length of time between some of them is a little ott. Doesn’t feel like that was tested at all.
Even the scarcity of save points in some areas on the map. In a whole zone there isn’t a single save point.
The game also urgently needs neutral guides who roam the Zone in various locations and whom the player could pay for transport to HUBs. Unfortunately, at a certain stage the game involves an enormous amount of walking, which negatively affects the overall experience.
I completed the game twice. During my first playthrough I explored every location and had an excellent time; however, the lack of fast travel and the vast areas that must be traversed became a major issue during my second playthrough. I am a huge fan of the series, but even for me this became tiring. There should be some system that facilitates faster travel, because at times you simply lose the motivation to cross the entire Zone just to get from one quest to another.
I didnt have any problem with mutants or anomalies, but when comes to longer quest-lines and boss fights. This is just totaly unplayable experience. I couldn't complete without a trainer allowing me to use god-mode.

Belive me I'm a very skilled PC gamer, especialy with FPS. But these fighs are EXTRAMALY DIFFICULT, almost imposible to menage
you'd think they would put special save points before boss fights
like the scar fight for example
scar can literally kill you in ONE hit
This is not a matter of skill. I consider myself a very experienced player, but this fight with Strelok on Master difficulty is simply impossible. He constantly teleports from one place to another, killing you in 1–2 shots. You can still avoid that to some extent by playing extremely cautiously, but at a certain point an anomaly appears that follows the player and kills you as soon as it reaches you. There is no way to avoid both of these things at the same time.
And once you finish the fight with Strelok, you are immediately thrown into a fight with Scar, with no autosave in between. And Scar one-hits you in seconds.
This is impossible to beat.

i didnt have much trouble with strelok and a gauss rifle just had to play very carefully, scar on the other hand is pot luck whether he hits every shot or you get the buttons before he domes you
No when electro anomaly flying around map and seeks the player, you try avoid it - strielok will killl you from "nowhere". You try avoid strielok - anomaly witll eat you.
this boss-fight design on master difficulty is just a garbage
I haven’t done these fights on master difficulty yet but I am on a master run atm. Try remove your artifacts so the anomaly doesn’t track you.

I apologize if this has been asked and answered but I can't find a straight simple answer. On master difficulty does it increase damage dealt and received. So it's easier to be killed and easier to kill enemies and mutants

less stashes. Im at the Sphere mission and so far I haven't received a single stash coordinate, despite completing multiple side quests and looting multiple enemies. Not one so far, which is worrying. Im assuming you'll get like, 1/3 of the stashes you'd get normally...?

Question. is the veteran + if you choose to turn the saves on the same as master as in terms of everyone kills each other easier just like in master.
the difficulty changes are the exact same, the only difference is that now it doesn't really count as a "master" run but instead a veteran+ run
but the difficult changes are same as master. Just, you can save everywhere now.

also to add info, Master also change a little healthpools i guess, bcs some enemies dies faster (mostly Mutants), but damage of player wasnt change at all. So its gotta be health or armor values

Either way, what matters is that it's not bullet spongy enemies and more of a skill thing. You either one shot everyone and survive unscathed, or die trying.
For everyone who has bug with the new Stories Untold missions ( new quest is automatically cancelled right after you accept it), i just want to let you know that the bug has been reported, and GSC are working to fix it.

idk I was giving GSC a lot of slack this whole time but I'm suddenly getting annoyed at them constantly introducing new bugs then taking a while to fix it only to make more
thats not how this works. You have to work with priorities, you also have to find cause of issue and you also have to know how to fix that cause and to fix it in a way to not cause more issues. Thats long procces and also some bugs are much more needed, than others

You have to know what is the issue (not ingame issue, actuall bug issue, so if its assets, code, some program or hardware), then you have to know how to fix it. SOme issues can take ages to be fixed bcs of that
I guess Bethesda and CDPR have famously buggy releases too, but that's the exception, not the norm

This is not how things works...number of ppl in company is irelevant. Number of ppl working on patches is and also, the bugs are only in some specific field. Other devs, that are not in taht fields are completely irelevant, so it doesnt amtter how many devs you have. ALso, as said, there are priorities in this also as another level and then finding issues and fixing it also. Also, a lot of times they fix it, but something else brakes, so they have to revert it and etc. THIS IS NORMAL SOFTWARE development and it works this way in every software company

but I have a feeling they are saving that for the engine update, probably going to look at expanding the A-Life radius to give people something to look at. Otherwise I guarantee binocs will lead to people being able to watch enemies spawn in

If they want to expand visibility, they have to switch to updated UE. So binocular will release after engine update i'm barely sure....
x4 scope is the most you need currently so I'm not in a rush for binocs without greater online range
I will say I was never a sniper user in these games but this playthrough has made me see the light of the svu-mk s-3

Literally the exact second I get the pop up from Steam saying the download finished for the whole game I get the discord notification that they just dropped a new patch, c'mon man

i can hit escape, and browse menu without any issues, but after i close the menu video becomes still, tho the game is running - i can hear all voices etc
after turning DLSS Frame generator off it fixes itself.
I have to kill the poltergeist from the seven seals mission in the underground, no escaping that bug there 🙁
Are poltergeists super tanky or what? I've shot at it point blank with a shotgun and surrounded it with grenades but it wont die.

Jo GSC im very happy about the content patch, exactly what the game needed, but holy hell you gotta do something about the data structure. I downloaded the patch, i downloaded the hotfix, i played yesterday. I started up the game today and it started to download the whole game again? Then i paused that because it killed my internet speed and 60 gb already downloaded were erased so i have to start the 111 gb download AGAIN? This is insane. Im going insane.

Technically you can use any gun endgame it's just that guns like Decider just don't have enough damage/penetration to one tap headshot in late game which is where you would upgrade. The Decider is goated if you get it as early as possible it's a great rifle, cheap ammo good damage good accuracy decent range mag upgrade makes it 40 rounds you can put 4x scope on it to snipe and take it off for close to mid range fights

Kharod has the best penetration values outta all the ARs I think. Can get that right after leaving the Lesser Zone.

Is there a memory leak still in the game with v1.8? I just left my game running idle in Rostok while I went to grab some food. Came back and the game had CTD yet again with a GPU driver crash. It's done this consistently despite trying different GPU driver versions. I'm using a RTX2080 8GB.

Unfortunately decider is just plain better in all aspects then lullaby, which is a shame because lullaby looks so much better, but its not a lot so its more of a preference which one to choose
Especially when Lullaby is an ultimate edition unlock I think? Deciding damage and penetration for the individual weapon instead of the bullet calibre was certainly a choice. Yes I know muzzle velocity/barrel length and pressure come into the equation too, but 5.56 should generally be hitting the same in any of the HK416 variants we have in game but some are just better than others for no real reason. Thank goodness for mods on PC is all I can say.
Yeah once the updates are gonna slow down all it takes is fiddling with the configs to make your favourite weapon be endgame ready

I love the built in suppressor for Lullaby. It’s really a good firearm especially when you’re not long out of the Lesser Zone.
Yeah, I love Clusterf**k but god the repair costs lol. And you can't swap the scope etc, which just irks me. I'd love a holosight mounted on a side mount and swap between the two for CQC.
The Monlith paint job on the 416 is cool too, but it just gets outclassed by midgame rather badly tbh.
Never even used any of the Monolith camo weapons tbh, I stuck with Valik’s AK until I got Lullaby, got the Kharod, Gen3 NVGs and a Saiga from Yantar.
Annoys the life outta me that I still can’t get a few weapons and attachments until late game, hate it so much when games gatekeep items like that.
Generally having any form of customization to your weapon is great which is why im looking forward to try out oxa prototype once the updates slow down

The artifact containers? Both hold artifacts but only the lead one completely stops radiation
3 lead containers, you can put in artifacts there and not get damaged by radiation. Different armor can have different amount of containers.

I also find the interiors too dark even if it is mid-day, i still have to leave my flashlight on. If I turn up the gamma or brightness, then the nights are too bright. Not sure but i thinks something is up with the Lumen
Should I explore all areas of Lesser Zone before moving to the next? Story wise Im ready to move on but some areas havent been explored yet
There's quite a lot to do there, although you can always come back. I'd say go artifact hunting and let the zone take you where it will. Thats what i usually do
I put gamma to 50 it fixed dark interior but game looks very good at 30-35 gamma outside
True, the game really nails the atmosphere especially with darker nights, making the NVG's really worth it. Hopefully we can get a good compromise with the engine update.

Only to avoid the lean walking. I dont think it's a big game changer, only usefull when walking. I haven't see any mod off this kind for stalker 2 so...probably i'm one of the rarest that think it could be interesting.....
Yeah, if you come from any game with freelook, like Arma or Anomaly, you will miss freelook. It's 50/50, immersion and utility, even more now that combat ALife is more reactive.
But offset aiming comes first if you ask me

and then I change cover so I dont get swarmed with grenades
You can walk straight while checking your surroundings. You can guard a door with your gun, while checking your flanks.
It's all in the movement and animations. The more control you have over your character, more immersed you should feel
You don't have to resort to strafing when cruising through the map and you wanna look to the sides. Minor thing, but I like it

That's something that I believe is missing from this game. World building through NPC chatter. Like, no one in the zone talks about the arch anomalies, or even a hint on how to deal with them. I solved only one, the one south of Duga, and I know how to solve the one in the Lesser Zone because someone spoiled me, but the rest, I have no idea, the game doesn't tell you anything, and I don't want to google it either

Yeah the ''whats about the zone'' dialog with any NPC should be more advanced. and some npc's should have unique hints.
They’re fairly easy to figure out once you’re at them tbh. It’s not hard.
Well, the thing is, when I play videogames, I try to die as little as possible, so I want to have some certainty before committing to something. Try and error is discarded for me
