What’s A-Life then? Whenever patch notes mention it, it references individual NPC behavior. Also, whatever GSC refer to as “A-Life militaries” seem to just be spawned in events. GSC don’t want to elaborate on this, I think purposefully. It seems to me likely that A-Life 2.0 isn’t what it was supposed to be in the earlier games, but a more polished, more “active” illusion of life in the game via spawning, a la Far Cry

And whatever Far Cry tries to pull off to create an illusion of a living world always fails terribly. For example, in Far Cry 6 you can have a huge firefight with the military on a busy road and as soon as it’s finished, a tank will roll on by through all the wreckage and corpses as if nothing happened. Far Cry is essentially a mayhem sim, but it cares little for immersion. Stalker 2 may remain similar to that

In FC3 I loved the environment (I’m a sucker for a tropical setting), and I liked the taking over of checkpoints/outposts part, but nothing mattered. When your guerilla allies controlled the outpost it didn’t change anything significantly. There was a spawn point there and that’s it. I wanted more. It would, for example, be cool if guerillas periodically raided/attacked adjacent outposts or something

It was just mayhem simulation in the end. Pretty explosions and lots of corpses

Doesn’t matter—they will cease to exist, despawn, when n metres from you

Speaking of weird keyboard behavior is it just on my end that strafing is kinda wonky in this game? Like if I'm holding D and then I press A the character would instantly start going to the left (even if I kept holding D, it's like it ignores the previous key press) but not the other way around, in this case it nulls the movement and my character would only go right if I letgo of the A key (i believe this is the intended behavior)
