I would agree with this. The metro games are similar but linear experiences. Exodus being the most like stalker but 2033 is the better game. Many of the devs are from the Original GSC team. I believe its also inspired by Roadside Picnic.

I highly recommend you playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl. It is such an amazing game in every aspect. My favorite games are all very atmospheric and Stalker is such a game. I played it for several times, each time diving deeper into the Zone and its secrets and its lore... Also it is very much affordable and gives you very much for little money
