It's usually an issue with Alife, though I haven't experienced it myself. Something to do with Alife trying to migrate mutants/npcs from one area to another and them getting essentially 'locked' at a transit zone until you arrive and unlock them by running into all of them at once. AFAIK it's a common issue with Oblivion Lost bc of the less limited Alife.

I'd guess that there will be natural emissions, I'm pretty sure at least COP & CS introduce you to the concept of them and show you how to evade them through some kind of tutorial quest, so it doesn't seem unusual for there to be the same for S2. Espescially since you can never be sure which entry in the franchise will be someone's first.

I remember hearing something in an interview with one of the developers about shelter being a commodity that a lot of npcs will be fighting for during an emission, so that's exciting.

SoC had one big emission too, CS had it, but scripted, and CoP was the only one that truly had it anyway.

Sure! That's one of the most exciting things about the game, the fact that when an emission occurs, everyone including the player is fighting each other for one thing, survival, finding a safe haven to live at least one more day, that for me is one of the most unique things about Stalker.

Let's say you are here asking about Stalker 2 and you are not really interested in the earlier games because they look dated, or you don't have the time. Let me try to put into context what the others are talking about. I'm going to use examples that I hope you know what I am talking about. You are here to ask about Stalker 2 ( Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015), Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017), and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019) but people are telling you, there is so much you are missing like SHADOW OF CHERNOBYL 2007 is like seeing = ( Star Wars: A New Hope (1977) The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and Return of the Jedi (1983) and then the other 2 games CLEAR SKY 2008 & CALL OF PRIPYAT 2009 are like seeing = ( Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace (1999), Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones (2002), and Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith ) So you are saying you're not interested in what took place before. Now by no means will Stalker 2 be the low quality of the last trilogy of Star Wars movies, only that the storyline of the earlier games are equivalent to the magnitude of what you are missing. At the same time, you may have friends that are telling you to play STALKER ANOMALY (Rogue One 2016) or jump straight to STALKER GAMMA (Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018) because they really like those offshoots. Of course, if you don't know what I'm talking about with the Star Wars movies, I've just wasted a great deal of time but maybe others reading this might get the point.

True Stalker looked good but when I found it, I could not make a manual save at any point in the game progression, I lost interest. I believe it uses checkpoint progressions saves, meaning if you fail at some point, you are forced to repeat long passages of game progression potentially. GSC made CoP to be replayable for may diifferent actions and outcomes. For example, there is also my favorite Achievement, Man of Balance that means you take no sides in most all of the events that unfold. Another example, if you've never met Morgan in Yanov Station and his Merc hit squads he sends after you, you're missing a whole lot of action and story.
