Faust first tries to convince the Noonians otherwise, fails to achieve the needed effect on them all, but given he's a Monolith preacher some find his words appealing, that plants the seeds of discord (no pun intended), events keep progressing & voilà — the Noon breaks in half. Or we can also presume that Faust was successful in convincing the Noonians to take his side from the get go, again — cuz he's the Monolith preacher after all, and that's how the faction might be actually restored as Strider, alongside his men, "gets reminded who he is" & stuff. "Come To Me" trailer certainly shows some Monolithian kicking Skif in the head, so who knows — maybe it's one of the possible branches in events that get influenced by players choices.
