So I've got a theory going about the canon ending of Shadow of Chernobyl. I goes sorta like this:

It was shown that C-Consciousness can control teleporters(like the time when you put decoder on a door in sarcophagus and they teleport monolithians to you). But why make a teleporter that conveniently gets your enemy to your exact location? And why stop trying to teleport monolithians to Strelok after he reaches the C-Conciousness to stop him at the last second?
In reality what you see in the final cutscene is a hallucination that Strelok sees after being hit by c-cosciousness' psi-emissions(akin to wish granter). In reality Strelok was teleported into a trap set up by C-consciousness and brainwashed into become their agent as a part of "S.T.A.L.K.E.R." program(this time for real). This is also supported by him wielding an AK he didn't have at that point of the game and "magical" teleportation to a green meadow right after he shoots c-consciousness. He is in fact at the very same meadow seen in "I want the Zone to disappear" ending.
